  1. Yup, Wesley's Bleche White. Usually I soak for a couple hours, scrub with a tooth brush, rinse with hot water. Then scrub with Dawn dish wash soap, rinse again. Ready to go.
  2. Harry please take the time to drive down to see that museum, you will not be disapointed. Your comment about school bus yellow is about right. As Art has said it is painted the correct color now.
  3. Sorry, don't know what kind of paint they used.
  4. Yes many AMT promos were painted. I'm not sure about all of them, chassis & interior were just bare plastic.
  5. Harry, There were the Lindberg Mercedes & Stutz Indy cars in 1/16 a couple years ago. Might be a place to start for frames-wheels- tires & such. If you can find a copy of the Rod & Custom from I think about 1965 with 1/25 plans for the car & blow them up to a larger scale.
  6. Finish a model before starting the next ? That's a new concept, my have to try it someday.
  7. Are you sure it's a '63 ? I could be wrong but I thought Hubley just made 1960- 1962 Fords.
  8. Some very nice cars. But just looking at the pics I can see what you mean about the vibe in the basement.
  9. They were pretty common back when, I doubt it's worth a whole lot now.
  10. Spotlight Hobbies, good pricing, fast delivery, honest accurate descriptions of vintage kits.
  11. I think the Montego & Torino were basically the same car. Start with a Revell '70 Torino. I've never seen a resin one, but they may have used the old early '70s MPC stock car body. Those bodies were MUCH closer to stock than what they run today. Thinking about it I seem to remember that MPC did a street '70 Cyclone which is the same car.
  12. March 18, Toledo Toy Show www.oldtoylandshows.com April 14 , Cincinnati Challenge www.cincinnatiautoreplicas.org
  13. They are listed by date on the calendar, & in no particular order in the Contest & Shows section.
  14. Early engines in late model cars, do I see a new NNL theme ? Greg, very cool idea !!
  15. Tim, Amen to that I am soooo tired of seeing an SBC in everything. Ford & the other companies have made some pretty good engines over the years. I always enjoy seeing anything but a SBC in a rod or custom. Don't get me wrong Chevy made a darn good engine there, it's just nice to see something else.
  16. I've come to realize over the years that building is where the enjoyment is. Displaying the new ones at shows is way cool, taking some out to look at every now & then. But the builing is where it is at.
  17. Gary you mention about having to buy an entire Modelhaus kit just to get the interior. I would check with them about buying seperate parts from a kit. I have purchased parts from them that were not seperately listed.
  18. I should go see that in person, it's only about an hour drive for me.
  19. Sorry no, I just found that on some site with Hudson specs.
  20. 8 cyl,16258347 - not sure the rotation of the distributor 6 cyl,153624
  21. I've used & reused it for MANY years. Bought 3 or 4 bottles 15- 20 years ago dumped them in a rubbermaid container & just keep reusing it.
  22. Chuck, the bubble top replacing the formal roof looks great.
  23. Been building for 40 plus years & I don't know how to do anything else. As everyone else here I'm a car nut, & find great satisfaction in a model well built.
  24. Bought about a dozen, completed 2. Started a couple others. Good year because that's less than I've bought in the past & more that I normally build.
