  1. Hmmmm.. I'll tell you one thing - this board ain't got nuthin' like that sweet little blond chickee doll that's holding the models that are on special!!!!!!!!! Boy, talk about eye candy! What a sweetheart!!!! Makes a guy wanna drop by just to see what she has on sale this week!!! :D
  2. A VERY attractive and unique subject and build!!!!!! I like wagons and this one looks fantastic - as for the side trim, it may have been a special order from Ford.. I wouldn't sweat it because had you not said anything, I doubt that anyone would have known. SOmetimes I think that we should just appreciate the resin stuff that is available while it is available 'cause it ain't always gonna be there for us. Your colours are right on.. can you please post some interior pictures? You do nice work.. I don't know how you knock these kits out as fast as you do .. unless you have a hoard of built ups that you are just now sharing. Either way - nice workmanship and colours! I'd like to see what you'd do with a Modelhaus '59 Chevy wagon...
  3. Looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The wheels suit the car as does the colour combination! Nice job!!!
  4. Oh but those are sure pretty! I like the colours!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I totally agree about the clour and the decals. The colour and style of those "High Roller" decals really caught my eye! They are a perfect combination of colour and style!!!!!!
  6. That's really sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And stock too!!!!!!! I love it!!! What engine did you use - a slant six or the V8? A friend of mine had one of those that was a 318 automatic - totally factory original and man, would that thing go!!!!!!!!
  7. I dunno..... sure seems like we are in the smallest minority in the hobby. I ain't holding my breath that anything is going to come of this at all. Honestly, I thought there would be more interest....
  8. Janet Leigh... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. '57 Ford..Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. Yeah, I remeber the '57 Ford and Miss Leigh was to say the least, gorgeous! Now about that white '59 Ford in the photo... darned thing sure does look good!
  9. Well, judging by the overwhelming number of responses to this post, I'd say that I am beating a dead horse.. Looks like my ideas are about as popular as a sinking lifeboat. Oh well... nothing ventured - nothing gained I guess.
  10. FWIW - I actually have a '64 ( says so on the rear license plate ) Chevy long box in my collection that I bought off Ebay awhile back. Now if I could find someone to make a mold from that box... I don't know if the truck is a promo or an annual but it definitely has a screw chassis and the hood doesn't open - so I am thinking promo. By the way guys, please post on the poll and add your comments and thoughts as to what you would like to see.
  11. OK.. the poll is up - I added a question as well regarding someone maybe producing a conversion kit to turn a Chevy into a GMC.. Thanks for your participation guys. Maybe if there is enough interest, the need will be met by some ambitious, enterprising resin caster.
  12. OK.. it was suggested that I put this question up as a poll so here it is. I added another question at the end regarding a conversion kit to turn a Chevy into a GMC. That would require a hood ( the turn signal lights were different on the GMC ) , grille, tailgate with GMC lettering, dashboard and appropriate emblems for the fenders and the V6 emblem for the hood. Unless of course, you were to build a Canadian GMC which had the Chevy six cylinders or V8's in them. I would think that guys who like trucks would buy this stuff.. I do believe it would be a viable market given the fact that these trucks have been issued and reissued.
  13. Close but no cigar, George! they have a crew cab but it is the cab and frame only.. and it looks like it is made for the short box. There was a long box version of the crew cab available back then too - my son has a '65 GMC 3/4 ton three door crew cab sitting here.. I want several of those boxes and building a crew cab is one project that I have in mind. I am not partial to those trucks in a short box - they just don't look right to me as the longer box really suits the cab design and with the deluxe side trim - they sure do look nice!!! I'm amazed that no one has offered such a thing as an eight foot bed for one of those trucks especially given the four kits that are so readily available out there to do a conversion. Maybe that style of trucks are not as popular as I thought.. that's why Revell and AMT have released them...
  14. Hey guys - you guys that like old Chevy trucks - I just posted on the Resin forum asking if anyone would buy a 8 foot fleetside box for a '60-66 Chevrolet truck if one could be bought in resin form - or maybe a complete resin kit of a '64-66 long wide box truck. If this tickles your fancy, please post some feedback on that thread - maybe someone will listen and take up the torch and run with it. Thanks.. hope I am not out of form here posting this...
  15. Hmmmmmmmmmm.. so let's see.. 1960-66 Chevy trucks - who likes them besides me? Promos ( did they even make an anuual '64-6 Chevy truck?? ) very tolerant wife who humours me and my hobby and never mutters or complains about my buying models - well, even she would be walking on her heels for a month if I bought one and paid what they sell for ... The old early '60's annuals have the bed floor as an integral part of the chassis and cab floor - so that's pretty much out of the question unless you are into hacking up old annuals and doing a lot of drilling and blasting to modify a bed floor.. there are NO long box versions of a '60-66 Chevy pickup on the market that I can find and yet there are versions of the '67-72 style available. Maybe if enough of us asked niocely, some enterprising and talented individual would hack up a couple of the AMY '60 or 64 Chevy short box boxes and produce an 8 foot fleetside bed.. So who all would like one? I'd take at least several if they were realistically priced ( say in the $15-25 dollar range ). I think that the resin casters are missing out on a niche here.. or am I wrong? Taking a Revell or AMT pickup and stretching the chassis is not big deal and the cabs in those kits are decent enough.. Feedback on this suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Thanks george. I already checked and they don't make it ( anymore? ) and apparently neither does anyone else. The long box just looks so much niocer to me and again, judging by what promos and old kits seem to sell for, I am not alone in that preference. An entire resin kit would even be nice but there is nothing available that I can find. I bought an AMT '60 Chevy truck kit ( not the one that is blue on the box = the older two tone box top version ) thinking it was a long wheel base but of course, it's a short box. You can't really tell on the box pictures - it almost looks like a long box but it is really a short box. Guess I'll have to start hunting down some old beater annuals.. *sighs*
  17. I really like the '60-66 Chevy pickups but unlike some ( most, it seems?? ) people, I prefer the look of a long wheel base fleetside to the shortbox. Looking on Ebay at the prices of promos and old kits, I have to wonder why no one is reissuing a long wheel base version of those trucks or a GMC conversion kit- or even just an 8' fleetside box and tailgate?? Just a thought...
  18. The love of my life, my bride and best friend - my wife - may well have been the lady who wrote that letter. She isn't but her views miror those of the writer. Tina has always tolerated my hobbies - real 1:1 cars and trucks and model collecting - and she worked at my side in my shop when we were painting cars here at home. Too many men have wives who give them no space and I see it in so many homes where the wife dislikes or even despises the husband's hobby ( what ever it may be )- it's no wonder that so many guys drink. I have to say that a lot of wives should read that letter and take some pointers from it.
  19. VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!!!!!!!! But here is a serious question - no joking - but what would it be possible to build even a curbside factory stock looking Austin? I have liked those little cars ever since I was a kid when my dad had one as a loaner while he was getting the engine on his station wagon rebuilt. It was a little black four door and it was a hoot to ride around in. I've always thought that it would be neat to build one. Actually, it's kind of a shame that all of the small English and European cars like the Thames panel, the little old Fiat, and even the American built Henry J were never offered in stock form.
  20. Thank you for your selflessness and willingness to serve. We in this home wish you the well and you will be in our prayers. God Bless and stay out of harm's way.
  21. Don makes just about the best with everything that he produces!! I just received my second batch of replacement bumpers and trim for some old annuals and the pieces are simply spectacular - as good as original if not better!!!!!!!!! I have several of his resin bodies too and they are as good or better than anyone elses!! No complaints from me on anything that I have received to date. I'm grateful that we have him and others like him to supply us with our needs.
  22. At first glance, I thought that the fist picture that you posted was a real 1:1 truck!! Nice, clean job on a kit that most people never completed. That old Revell stuff really left a lot to be desired back then, didn't it? They sure did pull up their socks though and they've taken to the forefront with many of their newer releases! Your modell is a winner and an excellent subject, to say the least. It's nice to see one of these built stock.. it's like eye candy/ Nice job!!

What a breath of fresh air!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is one sweet looking model.. and no baby buggy wheels!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gosh but it looks so good to see one of these built just like The General meant for them to look. I REALLY like the stock rally wheels and the colours.. Congratulations on going against the flow when so many guys are building these cars as race cars and pro street mods. Yeah! Stock Rocks!!!!!!!! Like I said - a breath of fresh air!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Sure does look pretty! I have one or two of those kits squirreled away as someday builds.. I'd like at least one ambulance and maybe a hearse to come out of them when I do them. Just curious about the Lincoln that I can see the rear corner of in your photo - do you have a shot or two of it? I have an old built up that I still have to strip and redo - I like your colours.. It looks like a nice piece.
  25. Thanks Art. I looked for the source last night and finally gave up. I was tired though and probably breezed right by it. I appreciate your assistance. Gary
