1968/69 Dodge Dart Resin Front Bench Seat?
impcon replied to impcon's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hmmmmmm.. sounds like Mother Mopar really was on a cutback routine - pull up side windows?? That's actually funny! I know it was done to save weight.. but imagine having a police officer at the side of your car asking you to roll your window down? What about at the drive in - the car hop wouldn't have any place to hang the tray with your burgers and fries.. just kidding.. I doubt too many Hemi Darts frequented the local A&W or what ever back when they still had car hops.. Drive ins - car hops - most definitely from a better time.. simpler with better music, to say the least. -
1968/69 Dodge Dart Resin Front Bench Seat?

Alan, May I ask what the difference between a Hemi interior and a non Hemi interior is? I am not that familiar with the Darts although I have always liked them.. But then they have four wheels, so what's not to love? *sighs* Seriously though, there is a lot to be learned about these little cars. Someone did a conversion of a hardtop to a convertible quite awhile ago - they did look good in that body style, didn't they? I have searched for that write up but have not found it - another missing link in modelling and a good project for some enterprising resin caster - one that would probably sell well too. I'm thinking a convertible with a slant six automatic.. just to be different. -

Thanks Alan, I was trying to avoid making one.. maybe I am getting lazy in my old age - I was just hoping that someone may have a ready made seat. I'm thinking that when I do this project, I'll do as you have shown. I appreciate all the responses guys. -

Those little Darts were nice cars. My brother said that he saw a Dart in Vancouver, B.C. years ago that was apparently running a 383 or a 440 and he said that it had "Dancin' Dart" graphics. I have never heard of that before or since.. I wonder if the graphics were custom made..?? And yes, someone needs to cast those front seats. -
The tail lights will be a challenge as the '65 and '66 wagon lights are different.. It may be an idea to contact TM Resins and make a suggestion. I inquired awhile ago about buying several interior buckets and he was not very communicative and I was not totally impressed with his people skills, but I am assuming he is a busy guy. He is certainly filling a lot of gaps in the model car world.. too bad most of us cant even begin t keep up with his new releases. The quality as I understand it is pretty good though. The guy really does need a proper website.. just sayin'..☺☺☺

Just wondering if anyone knows a source for a stock bench seat for a '68 or 69 Dart t convert the bucket seat GTS to a bench seat car. I know I can cut a rear seat but Id prefer a resin one . I'm not concerned about tthe model being totally accurate as a non GTS, just creating something close. Also, was the GT model offered with a slant six? Just wondering.. Any help appreciated.

1965 Dodge stock 2 dr sedan by MCW resin
impcon replied to moparfarmer's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I could really get excited about a 2 door '65 Mopar if it was a Fury, Sport Fury or Polara or Monaco. Those C body cars are largely forgotten unfortunately and the Coronet really doesn't move me much at all. I wonder how many other guys could go for a Polara, Monaco or Fury kit? They sure fetch big dollars on Ebay.. that usually translates into supply falling far short of demand.. one would think that some resin caster would catch on to that and offer some C body stuff. Just sayin'. -
Inches to scale conversion help needed
impcon replied to DrKerry's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
One of my favorite pieces of dialogue from that show: Rocket J. Squirrel: "Bullwinkle, do you know what an A-bomb is?" Bullwinkle: "Sure. A bomb is what some people call our show." Rocky:"I don't think that's very funny." Bullwinkle: "Neither do they, apparently." -
She looks like she's a real no-nonsense old girl - sitting there, ready to give her all and to serve for many more years. Those big Fords are soooo cool.. I wonder how much they are asking for that truck? That towing rigging looks like you could tow a bus with it.. The wrecker deck is nice but the book was not made to be pretty - but to work! Thank you for pasting the photos.. I collect pictures of old tow trucks, older and bigger work trucks in general, car transporters and tractor trailers.. I've already saved these images to my hard drive. Thank you once again.

Looking forward to seeing some photos of the 1/14th scale. Has anyone seen the 1/18th scale Impala?? Just wondering how accurate it is.

1957 Ford questions re Revell and AMT kits
impcon replied to impcon's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Back in the day when I was growing up and a '57 Ford was just another car, in our part of the world at least, the Club Sedan was simply referred to as an imitation hardtop because at first glance, that body style could be mistaken for a hardtop. Thank you for the post and no, it doesn't confuse me at all. -
1957 Ford questions re Revell and AMT kits
impcon replied to impcon's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thank you Rick. That's a pretty combination.. I can;t say that I can recall ever seeing those colors on a 1:1 or even a built modell -
I've been watching the forums to see if anyone has cut the trunk open on either the Revell or AMT '57 Fords and if so, how challenging was it - especially the Revell kit as the body shell seems a bit thicker. Mostly, I am concerned about the lower edge of the back of the deck lid where the license plate cove is. I'm no where near as talented as many of the people posting on the site are and I am not much of a fabricator, so I am looking to see what I can learn through the experience of others here. I am considering using the chassis from an AMT kit under the Revell body to give the sedan pose-able steering. The trunk floor on the Revell kit seems to be more accommodating to creating a respectable trunk compartment as the AMT model has quite an angle sloping toward the rear of the car. My second question is has anyone ever used the AMT hardtop to create a two door imitation hardtop like the car that Robert Mitchum drove in the movie Thunder road? Again, I am looking for ideas and input into framing the door and side window openings to make a sedan. And has anyone ever found the colour combination of that car? Mitchum's son seems to think that it was green and white although he is not totally certain.. it is difficult to tell from the photos that I can find. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

WOW!!! SImply - WOW!!! Those colours really do suit that truck. This generation of F100 was inded Ford's finest effort. VERY nice, professional looking build! -
That chrome work looks spectacular!! You have some pretty interesting projects there but I'm especially interested in the '62 Fairlane. What are your plans for it and what colours and theme do you have inmind for it. One of my first cars was a powder blue Fairlane 500 4 door sedan with the mighty 144 cu in six and three speed manual transmission. It was such a clean little car - I loved it but when a red on red '64 Falcon hardtop with factory buckets, console and a six cylinder automatic came along, the Fairlane went as a partial trade. I have a real soft spot for those little Fairlanes, needless to say.
