  1. Is that the one with the BBC? I may have a few. Bob
  2. I'm not so sure about financially healthy, but some of these guys have more than "can possibly be built" I keep it down to 40-50 kits. That way it seems like there is a possibility of finishing them all. But that's me. Bob
  3. I did many years ago. Still have it at my Dads in his attic. 1980 Redline Stu Thompson model. Flite cranks, bear trap pedals, Tuff neck stem. All the good stuff. As for when I'll ride it next? Never.. I love my skateboards too much to be seen on a bicycle. Bob OMG, I was just looking at those Stingrays. I used to have a raleigh Chopper back in the day. Black, orange with the tall sisy bar and 5 speed. Not certain where that went.
  4. I had a chance to look at the 68 Stang from Dynacorn up close. Well done in every respect. Dave, your fears seem puzzling. I have yet to hear of anyone duping someone into buying the 68,69, or the camaro yet. There are ways to tell them apart and they come with new VIN's. Not saying it cannot be done, by why bother? Bob
  5. I have an old rigid shovel and that would look killer on it. However, I'm not certain I could get away with it on the roads. Sweet though. Bob
  6. Absolutely over the top awesome This is art my friend. Bob
  7. Brillantly put Christian. The future is indeed bright for us all. Bob
  8. A great match for the Kona blue. Great build Bob
  9. Out Frikken Standing Shane!!!! I feel the hack now that this is out. You continue to UP the ante' [muddling back to bench now] Bob
  10. Budget [Read NEW] guitars tend to be somewhat lacking I admit. My advice is a used guitar. I almost exclusively buy used guitars and with someone to help there is no reason you cannot buy an excellent fiddle for nominal bucks. You say you like Metal a biit? Hard rock? I suggest either Japanese Jacksons and Charvels. I wouldn't rule out LTD ESP's, Schecters or Ibanez as well. These are near pro level student instruments that can be tweaked to play like 1,500.00 guitars. They usually come with 1 or 2 humbuckers of decent tone and necks that are not baseball bats. Want a vibrato? Floyd Rose knockoffs are usually on this price range and are usually very reliable as well. Get a hard tail if the bar isn't for you. Make certain the tuners are up to snuff, the frets are not chunked and the fretboard is straight and true. This is done by sighting down the fretboard from the bottom towards the nut, looked for any crookedness in the neck. A back bow is OK because the truss rod can be tweaked. I like ZERO relief in my necks, some like a little back bow, some like it low in the middle. I like LOW action but some like it a little raised. Metal guitars tend to have a flatter radius to them. More traditional guitars have more radius making fast playing [You are not there yet LOL] more difficult. I have been recommending guitars to students for years. I have had perhaps 75-100 students over those years. I have never had my advice come back to me. If you have 200.00 to spend you can get a guitar you will enjoy. I know I can go into a store and pick a 200.00 guitar that i can tweak to play and sound great. If they have an in-house tech guy, then push them to have him give it the once over before you take it home so you know it works 100% Try it on cheapo amps, try it on a 2000.00 Mesa Boogie. Buying new is OK of course, but old or used guitars already have songs in them. Bob
  11. Junkman, Brilliant! I am still chuckling. English humor works for me. Bob
  12. Amazing story Harry, and WOW how much those guitars are probably worth. I assume they sit in their cases and don't get touched? I remeber those guitars and they appear on FleaBay now and again for premiums. Old school [read 80's] Deans are extremely well made and highly desirable guitars. VERY cool story. Bob
  13. I played professionally for a tad over 16 years. I have buttloards of gear and have not picked up a guitar in 3 months. BUT, I have a guitar being painted even as we speak and if the right gear comes along and the price is right I'll buy it. This is classic guitar players syndrome I'm told. I can play pretty much anything I hear except for Allan Holdsworth's stuff. That cheeky little monkey is a genius. I tend to play more on the Metal side as well. Since that is where the challenges seem to lie for me. Jazz is cool, but the chords aggravate me. The blues? has been done, although I can honestly say the same old pentatonic scales can be played originally by the right guy. I am not that guy however. I tend to see the fretboard modally and in a minor type of way. That's the way I'm wired thse days. When I play, if I play. Bob
  14. That's tight Virgil. Kooky and Spooky, witch is in season. Bob
  15. I gotta be honest. When I see the words 69 Shelby on ANY site I imagine the worst. I have yet to see a really good build. Now, perhaps I have missed a few. There is that. But, I am loathe to click one. So let it be known that i LOVE yours! Perhaps the color is not my taste but the build is sweet. And that is what matters. Well played old man. Bob
  16. This is easy. 68 Shelby GT500 Hemi Cuda [any year] Ferrari Dino Ferrari GTO A Ring Brothers custom Bob
  17. The Aurora Racing Scenes stuff is something I wish could be redone. I bought a sealed VooDoo Vega a few years ago so that's off the list, but the rest would be nice. I also would like the Snake and Mongoose rear engine cars reissued. There are quite a few Tom Daniel kits I'd love to see as well. The Monogram 1/32 gassers were VERY cool too! I think there were at least 3 of em. All the Museum Pieces and Early Iron cars reished would also be sweet. Bob
  18. I must be sleeping. How did I miss this build? Excellent work at every point dude. Lots of clever stuff I plan on pilfering for my stuff. That accelerater pedal is sublime. Seriously. Bob
  19. The VW Vignette is astounding in scope and detail. Every item seems to be as it should be. WOW.... Bob
  20. Now, if we were to talk Musical gear?? I'm sitting here typing this and I see 25,000 in gear... Of course I made a decent living playing music for 18 years and between that and the garage, I did well for many years. Bob

Let's hope it's nothing trivial." - Irvin S. 22. "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work. I want to achieve it by not dying"....Woody Allen Bob
  23. I'll be calling the bank in the AM to put a stop payment on my check. Thank you Mr Winter. Bob
  24. Were I to sit down and tabulate it all from the beginning I'd have more than enough to buy a large home. As for what I have currently? Enough to buy an average new car. Bob PS: I'm counting vintage kits on todays market as well as supplies and sundries and new kits.
