I have a clear case in front of my terminal at the NAPA I work at. I put a car in there as I finish new ones and let it sit there for a couple of weeks till I decide to replace it. I have gotten compliments and offers to buy them from time to time. One day this guy came in and asked how much I payed for the die-cast. I laughed a bit and explained I had built it. He said he built models and didn't believe that the paint job on it was my work. I chuckled a bit and pulled out the box from underneath the counter and that pretty much ended it right there. Now when he comes in he goes right for the case to see what else I have whipped up. I also have 2 customers who collect die-cast cars. One of them has given me over 10 unbuilt vintage kits over the last year. I promised him I would build his in the bos service station to display his own cars. Model cars have started many a conversation for me. Bob

My 2000 Cavalier has a 2.2 litre four cylinder. My hope is to stuff a 2.6 litre Ecotech with a roots style blower into it. Bob

We have several wild squirrels that we hand feed where I work. When they want a peanut they come to the door and stand up to peer through the glass. They are so comical and very smart. Bob

Got mine a few days ago with some others and I must add that I am very pleased. Chucks decals are on the money and visually excellent. Cannot wait to apply them Bob

Perfectly captured. For me I wouldn't go all glittery. But it is your model. I would go with a period color for this. It's too nice already. IMO Bob

Decals are one thing. Sealing BMF is another. Decals Can survive time [more than most of us have] uncoated and still be OK. But sealing them under a clear coat brings uniformity [if that's your goal] and a protectant to them. The edges are also less likely to lift My older examples of clear coated BMF [enamels and laquer] have proved to yellow over the course of a 15 year period. When held next to an uncoated example the results were clear [or yellowed] in both cases. I use enamel clears over color coats below a certain color range and laquers for above. I never clear coat over BMF. Of course these are over longer periods of time. If your goal is immortality become an actor. Those are my findings. Bob

I have to ask Chris. When these little masterpieces are done, what are they worth? I know about the "what a person will pay" thing. But let's just get an honest market type estimate of what YOUR type of quality brings. EVERY build you post here, BAR NONE, is exquisite to the bone dude. Ya see, it's not a model car per se. It's an honest to goodness race car that can be used to win races. And look totally killer doing it. The model racing world stands apart from the static model world. How's about it? Bob

Thanks guys. I did end up getting the nosepiece from DoubleD and it's now in place. I also finished the throttle linkage and added a couple of last minute details. Perhaps I'll update the pics at some point. I appreciate it. Bob
