  1. Thanks guys.
  2. I will try that. Thanks.
  3. Has seen better days... This desk is 18 years old and the books have done their worst. I see it being replaced in the near future.
  4. A few more.
  5. I started this car so long ago. It has been maybe 8 years perhaps less. Broke it out and decided it was time to finish it. Like all things that sit for a while a few items have gone missing. One mirror and the antennae are awol. The ariel is not a prob but that mirror is something else. Wipers will be photo etched if I can locate the sheet. MCG photo etch set and wired with some minor plumbing and battery cables. At least it's closer than it was yesterday.
  6. Both are very well done. I recently got another because the first was such a joy. I see I am not alone in this.
  7. Lucius you remind me of myself in that I will build almost anything. Well done.
  8. My Silly Surfers collection is now complete. Between these and Fred Flypogger and Ed Roth I have an entire section of just crazy figures and I have not even started with the other Hawk stuff which I am about to get into. Acrylics as usual and I fired up my old Image Styler program to make the sixpack logos. Nothing fancy just printed on good paper and craft glued tothe styrene cans and holder. The sweater is my own design. I still have to paint a sunflower and a couple of lilly's yet. But it is far enough along for me to post. Enjoy Hodad making the scene with a sixpack.
  9. It is almost if you drove by you could smell the "Dairy Air". Well done.
  10. That is a real nice result. I may have to crack mine open so I can finally put one on the shelf next my other pro stock builds. It clearly has possibilities.
  11. Work continues. PE alternator bracket, fuel line and plug wires run. Front suspension installed. I have to make up some brackets for the headlights but all scratchbuilding is done. These types of hot rods build quickly, and fun has been had.
  12. Sick, I too am watching.
  13. Geez, that sounds fantastic for being a rather inexpensive ax. I figured it would be something a bit pricier. Harley Benton gets the razz in the guitar community being rather entry level, but there is no doubt it sounds just fine.
  14. As I finish up my Garlits FE digger I was perusing a box of kits and ran into this one. While it's not my usual drag car or figure I thought it time to do a pre war hot rod. My Rodfather build was more fun than I expected and with my parts stash I know I have a mountain of stuff I can glue weld or screw onto this and make it decent. This kit is far better than I expected with name brand dress up goodies and an extremely nice SBC on the trees. I dug out a 20+ year old jar of Boyd's yellow enamel and with some Mr Color leveling thinner shot it onto the body. It came out so smooth I decided to go with the suede look and that helped guide my next choices as to how I would proceed. Purple is never my first choice of color but here with that yellow I feel it works.. With some Revell drag tires and wheels and a naturally aspirated small block it has just the right amount to make a mid 80's street machine. I went through my decal stash and pulled out the flames for the reissued ex Monogram 66 Chevelle, and with some trimming and positioning I came up with some door flames. The Rat Fink on the deck lid and maybe a few sponsor type decals and it looks the part of a driveway project. Finally, the mock up showed me I was on the right path. Thanks for looking. Suggestions and comments, good or ill are always welcomed.
  15. Some of the most convincing rust I have seen ever. You have it all figured out. Watching closely to see the end result.
  16. Sitting just right. Gonna be a winner.
  17. Beautiful color! I painted my Foose truck in almost that same shade. Once you get some chome foil on it the entire thing POPS!
  18. I am not a Vette guy at all. I am a GM guy for sure but the Corvette never was quite my bag. Camaro and Chevelle were where it was at for me. However, the 54 Vette has a special place. I did engine and other Work for the local GM/Chevrolet dealer George O'Hara Chevrolet many years ago. George was a very intuitive guy. He bought several of these when they were first offered, and he kept one. In the center of the main showroom from the day it arrived until the closing of the shop in the late 90's there sat a brand new 1954 Corvette. I think it had 3 miles or so on it. It was white of course. I think it was optioned out to boot. I saw that car (sometimes daily) for many years. I bought my 1985 IROC Z off George, and that car sat next to the Vette for many months. That was a car I think George also planned to leave sitting there for years. I talked him out of it at last in 87 as a brand new car. I have no idea what happened to the Vette. His son may have it or perhaps it went to a collector. It got polished once a year I know that. It was like the day it arrived and would get visitors all by itself. It became kind of a thing for quite a few years. Your build is very nice. The blue fits it so well. I understand not all of them are white but other colors are decidedly rare. That's my Vette story. The only one I have.
  19. Fooled me! Stil awesome of course but the expectation was subverted cleverly.
  20. Having signposts along the way as well as reminders of where you were and how far you have come are so important. It allows perspective as well as a real gauge of all you have accomplished. They should always be left as they are.
  21. I have one and the body is Tamiya pink. Big guy like me can build a pink Caddy, anyone can. Especially girls. Do great on it ...
  22. That was nice of Don. That build is totally killer top to bottom, and I would display that in the front of any of my shelves. Not only that but when this was put together matters. It looks as fresh as a daisy.
  23. What model are you playing? It sounds very clear and open. The playing is fluid too.
