  1. I need one of these on the shelf for sure. Your build is excellent brother. Time to start rounding up parts.
  2. I knew the nostalgia would heavy with this group. We are largely of an age to remember these characters. I am sure more will weigh in on their recollections when they see this post. It's the very reason I bought them. And Yes, the song will haunt you should you start playing it in your head. Best thing to do is seek it out on YouTube and get it over with.
  3. Indeed it is. I would have loved a 1/12 build, but the cost being what it is I settled on 1/20. It will still be epic I know that much.
  4. This is the Jimmy Flintstone clone of the old Aurora kit in resin. When these first arrived I was giddy with excitement. The Splits were one of my favorite shows as a child. I saw sneak peek type pictures and was stoked to get a copy for my collection. When they arrived with a price of 99.99 I was NOT stoked. That is far and away not a great price for this kit. They were playing against nostalgia no doubt. So I put it on the back burner. Then a few months ago I see them on sale for 49.99 on eBay. At that point I was OK with the price. So I pulled the trigger and got one. I'm not sure if it was quality that was a problem, but once I got it and opened the box I was disappointed. Tons of flash and ragged edges as well as short shot in a few places. If they shipped this quality at 100 dollars I can see why they may have not done well. I suspect that this lot was either 2nd quality or rushed for the sale. Either way I now have Banana Splits on my shelf. After fixing most of the large booboo's I painted them as seen on the show. I still need pink and purple polka dots for Snorkie's buggy. Either some decal prints or careful paint work. So I now have them and that's what matters.
  5. That car has never looked better. Those colors agree with the flowing lines. Not an easy kit to make look as spectacular as this.
  6. That I am not certain of. I bought a big collection of lead and pewter figures from the early days of figure casting. IR figured (no pun) prominently. I'll have to check.
  7. Never built.one.of these. Ive seen many and this one is near the top.
  8. What a handful.those things.mist.be .it has a shorter wheelbase than my PS 71 Vega and that was a two hander at all times. Love how it came out!
  9. "Oh no Sir, that's legal height. Now you you can check it if you want to". Make sure you add the glove full of tickets.
  10. Is this also posted on YouTube? If so Ive been following that one.
  11. I'm calling it done for now. All that is left is a few odd control wires. I left off many lights and the front fairing as those things are hideous. I like bikes stripped down to their bare essentials. I wouldn't bother with them on my own old FLH, why stick em on a plastic version? This IMEX kit has been 80% done for at least a decade, and is part of my "Get that BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH that has sat in boxes for years done Bob" program. Every time I itch to buy a new kit I have to finish some languishing, 1/2 done (or more) kit first. It's a psychological approach to getting these things finally finished, and it's working. Now to find room somewhere...
  12. Call a cop! It's been hijacked!
  13. So clean. You work in a sterile room? If that's Tamiya pink, then that's the color of my 59 Caddy convertible that I'll one day get to.
  14. Not a green guy, but THAT is a great color! I think I have the Reggie Jackson edition of this kit. Or maybe I'm wrong. I keep saying one day. If it comes out anything like this I'll be stoked. Crushed!
  15. I have never driven one of these tubs. They look quick, and by all accounts a Hemi makes em pretty crazy. Anyone here own one? Curious minds. Oh, the kit looks great. Pre painted eh?
  16. Yet another one of those "Had it forever" kits. I had the tins and the motor and tranny finished. Frame was ready to receive all of it to be a rolling chassis. Not a big fan of anything later than a shovelhead, but this kit is truly superb. I went with a two tone silver and metallic blue. The decals were sort of meh, but I made em work. Scratch another one off my list of projects "In the box and nearly done".⁶ this should be complete in a matter of a few days.

That looks great. I knew you something in there.
  18. One of my favorites. I have an SLO and a 50 watt JCM800 and an ENGL Ironball for practice. And a few pedals.
  19. Guitar amp biz you say? I am an ampoholic myself.
  20. For someone getting back you seem to have all the toys and skills. So I will be watching with great enthusiasm. And Welcome...
  21. Has vibe for sure. Well done.
  22. Crazy cool. And compact considering all that's there. And the cab clutter. Well done Sir!
