  1. Brilliant! Making one this afternoon. Kit cranks are bye bye. Thank you Sir...
  2. Here are two Kingdom Death game models. Yes, the blue gal has a man's beating heart in her fist. The devilish girl is, well... Devilish. It was the pumpkin and choice of cushion that made my gal insist I get it. Then we have Warhammer pieces. First is a Space Marine Chaplain, then a Sister of Battle or Sororitas. Last is a Noise Marine. I bought that one for the 80s vibe he gives off. And a Space Marine with an electric guitar is for me, a No Brainer
  3. Nice.....
  4. These AM kits are a bit of a bear to build. Panels are kinda iffy after all is said and done. There are a couple of videos on the solutions on YouTube. If you get one I would recommend watching them. As far as accuracy goes, nothing beats em. And for 60.00 I would say it's a relative bargain. You won't regret it.
  5. Thanks brother. My greatest accomplishment on this figure is getting 2 grass Tufts on the tiny base.
  6. I had purchased a large lot of Ral Partha or D&D figures if you prefer. In that lot we're some truly superb and hard to find figures. But lo and behold at the bottom of the box was this lone metal, square based Ork from Games Workshop. These sell for a bit on the card but since he was not, it was only right I painted him to hang out with various figures on my studio's "Wall of Heroes" shelf. He is painted in the Evil Sunz tribe colors. This thing is tiny in comparison to modern day Warhammer Ork models. They have shown significant size creep over the last decade. He truly looks like a Grot when standing next to a modern Ork model. Enjoy.
  7. I built my first model in 1972 and it was a Bug Bomb. My Father had a hippy type head shop and 2 doors down was a hobby shop. One day he took me inside and I marveled at all the kits. He asked me if I would like make a car and I must have said Yes. I was 7 at the time and picked out my first model all by myself. We built it over a series of evenings by my Father's accounting. I played with it and eventually lost track of it. I have been after one for a few years now and the prices have Not gone down. But that is to be expected since it's a pretty tough kit to find in any condition. At some point I'll get one although I doubt I'll pony up for an NOS kit. A glue Bomb (pun intended) will be fine if A: it's complete, and B: It's not a true glue Bomb. I am a patient man.
  8. I am going to use this thread as a place to show my miniatures. Instead of one new thread after another and clogging everything up. As much as I enjoy sharing my work, I also don't want to ruffle feathers with constantly new threads. Here is a 10 man squad of World Eater Khorne Berzerkers. Traitor Marines who follow the Blood God Khorne. As you can imagine they play aggressively. You get up in an opponents grill with these bad boys. They excell at close quarters combat.
  9. LOL, now the student is the Master. He has chosen well as far as paint is concerned. He sounds well on his way. If you have any pictures of his work I would enjoy seeing some.
  10. I wish him good fortune on his journey. Having a few key items will surely see his success. Great lighting, superb brushes, and do not spare on the paints. Either Vallejo, AK or Citadel are really some of the only choices. The new range from Army Painter is also excellent. I suggest watching lots of painting tutorials as well. There are a lot of master painters willing to share their secrets. A great resource I have used myself Thanks for the compliment.
  11. Here are the things that occupy my time that are not model cars these days. We have Robute Guilliman, Primarch of the 13th legion of space Marines, the Ultramarines. Next up is Konrad Curze. Primarch ( And now dead) of the 8th Legion of space Marines, the Night Lords. Lastly we have a Kroot warrior. These are the tiny things I paint these days.
  12. My rather modest (Compared to some) bench.
  13. I got this kit at the same time I purchased the ships cannon kit. These were available through the mail with a proof of purchase of a box of 20 Mule Team Borax. These were available for quite a long time as I understand it. This kit was bagged and complete as I received it. And when I think about it, everyone probably had a box of Borax under their sink back in these days. I have one myself. I cannot recall the last time I used it. But I imagine it has been quite a while. Heck, it might not even be mine. The kit instructions also have a description and pictures of a board to fix your team to. It shows where the nails go and all the measurements needed to display your finished team. Acrylics and washes, followed by batch painting the mules and here we are. It resides at Cottage Antiques owned by one of my closest friends where it attracts a little attention now and again. Even had a few offers in the past. But it's on permanent display. NFS.
  14. Don't know why I didn't speak up sooner. These are really nicely done Terry. Your weathering skills are up there and certainly something I can learn from. The armor guys vids on YouTube have helped me in my own endeavors to make things look used.
  15. Yessir, blue and yellow parts for days. It comes with instructions for basing it as well. I found a nice piece of old oak in a pile at a friend's. Had to go through a few to find a straight one. I used some beach sand and hobby Tufts, but made it sparse. I'll find those pics or take new ones. It resides at the antique shop I hang out at and sell a bit on the side.
  16. A classic. Well done.
  17. Both are quite good. That yellow pops!
  18. I have been having the same issue with the light blue decal set for the Mickey Thompson mustang. Those decals are murder. 2 sets and I gave up. I am glad you persevered. It came out quite nice.
  19. I have been looking for this kit. I'll be watching.
  20. Superb work on this. The weathering and chipping is subtle and effective and the figures and also outstanding.
  21. Thanks to all of you. I enjoyed this very much and it was certainly something I never even knew existed. As I understand it these are pretty hard to come by these days, though I suspect if you watch eBay closely one may come up now and again. Thanks again all
  22. Got this at an antique live auction last year. I think I paid 10 bucks. What a gem of a kit. I had to scribe the decking lines but otherwise it's as supplied. Just acrylic paints and washes. And some chipping of the top rail and general wear. That same auction also landed me the old Borax 20 mule team plastic kit. Throw a couple of bucks into the mail and you get this truly epic 20 mule team kit that has a LOT of parts..if I find pics of that I'll post em.
  23. It is indeed fun to go out of a comfort zone a bit. But I think I am more comfortable than I thought. I really enjoyed this build and I think it shows.
  24. Built this last year. Wooden box from the dollar store turned upside down with a few burnouts on it. Kit is bone stock. I used my figure painting knowledge to give Ed his look. This is a blast from the past. I added a couple of shots with the Rodfather next to Ed. I thought for sure the car portion would be smaller, but nope it's a 1/25 scale car he is in.
