  1. Sitting pretty. A common swap and these always look great. Keep on gluing stuff together.
  2. Not a big fan of the first gen Vette but if you keep this up I may have to revise my stance.
  3. You all are too much...
  4. Between the stills and the boxtop, I painted it as you see. Lots of washes and acrylic paint.
  5. Looks like a winner from here...
  6. Very flexible kit this. I have one myself and keep pushing it back in favor of another. I'll be watching this page.
  7. Wow, what a stunner the real thing is. That print came out well.
  8. Gonna be a winner. Following...
  9. Progress made on the chassis and motor. I've decided on Stoplight Red Metallic in the little Testors bottle. Tan interior should complement it. The paint for the chassis has an undercoating effect. This paint has been discontinued (of course). It has a great finish that looks like scale undercoating . I'm gonna miss it like Testors buffing Metalizers.
  10. It's funny you should say that because the stories are serialized through several issues. Then in the 90s entire issues were devoted to single stories. It's all over the map. Probably not for you I think. But thought I'd add to your thread. My thing isn't always for everyone.
  11. I impressed myself with this tire lettering job. The Eagle csc is particularly small. Windsor Newton Series 7 brush and white acrylic paint from the Two Thin Coats line of miniature paints. Not cheap, but it's right the first time.
  12. I'm not going go into my years as a comic book dealer and all that. Besides, I am done with it. However, I do have one collection that I am very proud of. My collection of Heavy Metal magazine. I have every issue from number 1 April 1977 to issue 320. I also have every hardcover and variant as well as all the Specials. It's a comprehensive collection. I also don't have a single issue below a vf grade. That means every copy is super nice. Some were never circulated, some were in private collections and were doubles. It took 9 years of diligence to complete this collection. They are also all in Mylar bags with special backing boards of the highest quality. If you've ever read HM you know what it's about. They are adult comics basically. Nothing is really off the table as far as nudity and violence are concerned. Not for the kiddies. I also have many other Heavy Metal magazine related items. Once you start, it's hard to stop.
  13. Many moons ago I was in Flat Rock MI doing cable work with my stepfather. I was tooling around one day and a black one just like this rolled up on me. Monster cam and four speed, it growled like a caged beast. He took off rather calmly, then rolled on some power and it just scooted away. Very impressive car. As is this car. Very nicely done. I see this kit in my future. WOW, that dash and Dana are impressive. So well done brother!
  14. Built this eons ago. The only three shots of it I have. I gave it to my buddy Lloyd as a going away gift when he went back home to Oklahoma. A great guy and awesome NAPA Counterman. The man forgot more about heavy duty trucks than I'll ever know. He loves it and still has it in a case in his man cave. Great kit to build and I need another for my own collection.
  15. I wish I had. These were Gundam kits and they were super expensive. He may have had them overpriced, but I looked at Gundam Pros website and so e were easily that expensive.
  16. Gorgeous from every angle. Lots of red ponies at the end there.
  17. I just started a 94 Bird thread. Good luck to you Sir.
  18. Project X never looked so good.
  19. That blue is always striking. Should be killer with your skills.
  20. Ambitious and already looking great Following this one
  21. Superbly built and painted. You know your way around some styrene.
  22. A car I liked quite a bit when new. We ended up with a 4 cylinder Jeep Wrangler that my wife fell in love with. Not sure of a color yet. Something light and bright with a light interior. Windshield and roof are one big clear piece. I like the interior engineering on this one. The chassis is also nice. Not sure about the chrome water pump though. What were they thinking? Light detailing and smooth paint are on tap. Just a car I always liked. Understated, yet still quick.
  23. Yep, good eyes. I like to add washes where I think they will do the most good. Adding depth and dirt or oil so that it looks used.
  24. I bought this and a Speeder Bike kit at the local Flea Market over the winter. They were a steal as though no one wanted them. The stand I got it from had those Japanese robot things for $120.00 on the same shelf. This kit was 15.00 and while open, it was in the bags inside. The Speeder Bike was sealed and also 15 bucks. What I didnt know was there was a sale at that particular stand with an additional 25 percent off. So a good deal on two really cool Star Wars kits So this one was first. I studied the movie a bit since I have it on DVD. Took some stills and studied them a bit. His pod was pretty banged up right from the start, so that's where I was headed. Lucas stressed "lived in" for all vehicles and backgrounds for his movies. It truly worked. No more gleaming and perfect starships. Everything was used or cobbled together. Anakin made this Pod piecemeal from parts scavenged. It was his ingenuity that made it work. That and the fact he was a special kid didn't hurt either. I wish I had a better background for this. Sometimes you just go for it.
  25. Original issue that was started almost immediately. Then I decided no stripe, since that would have been a nightmare. Then I blacked out a bunch of items. I was going for box stock at the time. I was kind of fantatical about OOB builds for a while. High detail had worn me out with all the drag cars I had been building. I needed a break and this came along at the right time. Fathom green from Testors I believe. Tan interior. At this time I was a kit builder. I still am in many respects. This sat in the box for 12 years at least. It needs a few items, but I had it on the bench so I shot it as is.
