  1. Those AMT 67 Chevelle headers are the best. Copies need to be made so I can put em on everything I build. BTW, your project ROCKS!
  2. Just a couple more with the roof on.
  3. They are. And you cannot go over them to look authentic.
  4. Ah Hah! You went with the billboard. I was certain about 75% that is what you would do. But you never know. It looks great brother!
  5. This is what is left of 2 bottle of Testors enamel. Thinned with leveling thinner 2:1 When it comes to metallics, it takes two and I knew better. Good thing that the sealer is ultra thin. It's as though it went right over bare plastic it's so thin. I cannot recommend Duplicolor DAP1699 higher.
  6. Yes, I changed the color. I couldn't find another bottle of stoplight red locally. I want this finished sooner than later because I want to start working on my Bud King funny car and that is Uber detailed and needs total concentration. So I had a bottle of the blue and Michaels had another. So I threw them both in a bottle and added lacquer thinner. I had shot the sealer yesterday so it was ready. I think it compliments the interior and I'm happy with it.
  7. Wowsers does that look sweet! You nailed it! Looks totally legit, and where did you get a figure in scale? Boss is a favorite of mine on the show...
  8. The finishes and colors look legit. You are on your way...
  9. Cooler than the other side of the pillow.
  10. I learned to drive in one of these. 4spd manual in the Dartmouth Mall parking lot 1979. My Uncle Steve always favored and indulged me. It was silver with a stripe. I forget the color.
  11. Looking forward to it...
  12. Looking great. Any plans for the sides? A stripe or billboard?
  13. I went and looked at the prices of this kit. If you can find one, they are upwards of 150.00 US. You are doing a splendid job.
  14. That's very kind of you brother. Thanks.
  15. A major one. Whoever wrote it knew what they were doing.
  16. Those are great! I wouldn't be surprised if many here are closet mini painters. I know that there is a lot military in the "Other Models" section, with talented builders always showing superb builds. Like your beasties here, they open up different skills and are painted quite differently from any car or truck. The only spraying to be done is primer usually. The airbrush plays a part, but I tend to stick with the brush in the more traditional manner. Are those Ral Partha or D&D creatures? The amount available is truly staggering. And eBay is another source of near limitless 3D and cast resin figures for painting. The world of figures is so huge, it dwarfs (no pun) automotive modeling.
  17. There was a time when all I built were cars. And that served for years. I forgot how long it has been. But it's been quite a long time, but at some point I saw figure painting and Warhammer. I knew of Warhammer since the 80s, but never played it. I saw a few videos on YouTube and saw exquisite figures and Warhammer done to a very high standard. I was captivated by the possibility of such high art and began watching painting tutorials. After that I was hooked and began buying paint and brushes for miniatures. What's nice is it crosses over to model cars in ways I never expected. Washes are now a big part of my automotive building regimen. I have those pretty girl figures and plan to paint those to pose near my cars also. We car modelers usually don't posses the correct paints to accurately paint figures, so they end up looking kinda funky. Testors gloss enamels and figures don't mix at all. I have seen the results and they are less than stellar. That and the fact that cars are not the only things that hold my interest and here we are with an eclectic mix of builds.
  18. Are you going for Sassy Grass green? You are very close. Needs more yellow I believe.
  19. We could go on ad nauseum. The keyboard and it's various shortcuts are somewhat responsible for the state of certain things. I get the shorthand. LOL, IMO and the like. It saves typing without question. And if all are agreed, then fine. This is the nature of language at its basest. It is a set of parameters which we all agree to. I did Not agree to Heighth, or Come with, or needs changed. In fact, I would have lobbied heavily that distorting language and manipulating it is the exact cause for a great many ills currently plaguing this country. I'll leave this here.
  20. With my degree in English I will say the Internet is a cringe fest when it comes to either spelling, pluralization or there, their, they're. But the one that really burns me is Heighth. There is no H at the end of Height. I don't know where this came from, but it makes me nuts. There, I said it.
  21. What a week. Ozzy, Hogan and now Chuck. The three's....
  22. Should you build it all to your liking, you'll have quite a garage of Rods.
