Kit has been traded.
-
I'm calling it done for now. All that is left is a few odd control wires. I left off many lights and the front fairing as those things are hideous. I like bikes stripped down to their bare essentials. I wouldn't bother with them on my own old FLH, why stick em on a plastic version? This IMEX kit has been 80% done for at least a decade, and is part of my "Get that BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH that has sat in boxes for years done Bob" program. Every time I itch to buy a new kit I have to finish some languishing, 1/2 done (or more) kit first. It's a psychological approach to getting these things finally finished, and it's working. Now to find room somewhere...

Call a cop! It's been hijacked!

So clean. You work in a sterile room? If that's Tamiya pink, then that's the color of my 59 Caddy convertible that I'll one day get to.
-
Not a green guy, but THAT is a great color! I think I have the Reggie Jackson edition of this kit. Or maybe I'm wrong. I keep saying one day. If it comes out anything like this I'll be stoked. Crushed!

I have never driven one of these tubs. They look quick, and by all accounts a Hemi makes em pretty crazy. Anyone here own one? Curious minds. Oh, the kit looks great. Pre painted eh?

Yet another one of those "Had it forever" kits. I had the tins and the motor and tranny finished. Frame was ready to receive all of it to be a rolling chassis. Not a big fan of anything later than a shovelhead, but this kit is truly superb. I went with a two tone silver and metallic blue. The decals were sort of meh, but I made em work. Scratch another one off my list of projects "In the box and nearly done".⁶ this should be complete in a matter of a few days.

That looks great. I knew you something in there.

One of my favorites. I have an SLO and a 50 watt JCM800 and an ENGL Ironball for practice. And a few pedals.

Guitar amp biz you say? I am an ampoholic myself.

For someone getting back you seem to have all the toys and skills. So I will be watching with great enthusiasm. And Welcome...

Has vibe for sure. Well done.

Crazy cool. And compact considering all that's there. And the cab clutter. Well done Sir! -
If you find my original post I give the numbers for the Duplicolor paints I used. Since yours is done this goes for anyone trying to to match this car.

Love this kit and you did it up so nice. Time to finish mine. Inspired!

Are you kidding? You got skillz brother. That is insanely gorgeous.

One of my favorite automobiles of all time right there. There is something about it. It just pushes the right buttons. Much more than the Camaro. And I adore the Camaro. The right color outside and in. Thank you.

Stunning! Wish I hadn't sold mine.. ☹️

Gorgeous build Cruzer. And the Mod Top is in fact Over The Top! The green just sets it all off. Super clean to boot as usual. Bravo Sir!

Marvel's Hydra coupe 1/12 scale full scratch build
Dragline replied to François's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Man! What 3D can do. Cannot wait to start in on mine. Incredible project that simply wasn't possible as little as 3 years ago to the average Joe. And it looks dead on too. Well played Sir. Well played indeed. -
Deep burgundy or plum pearl and black? Aaaaawww yeah...

A great many of us buy old kits or reissues because we want to build them with the acquired skills of the decades that have passed As cool as this build is, seeing brush painted bodies does something to me. It's almost as if it invades my soul. Your last sentence summed it up. Restore the body (you have the decals, was it fate?) and then leave the rest as is. Best of both worlds. But you do as you see fit.
