  1. There was a time when all I built were cars. And that served for years. I forgot how long it has been. But it's been quite a long time, but at some point I saw figure painting and Warhammer. I knew of Warhammer since the 80s, but never played it. I saw a few videos on YouTube and saw exquisite figures and Warhammer done to a very high standard. I was captivated by the possibility of such high art and began watching painting tutorials. After that I was hooked and began buying paint and brushes for miniatures. What's nice is it crosses over to model cars in ways I never expected. Washes are now a big part of my automotive building regimen. I have those pretty girl figures and plan to paint those to pose near my cars also. We car modelers usually don't posses the correct paints to accurately paint figures, so they end up looking kinda funky. Testors gloss enamels and figures don't mix at all. I have seen the results and they are less than stellar. That and the fact that cars are not the only things that hold my interest and here we are with an eclectic mix of builds.
  2. Are you going for Sassy Grass green? You are very close. Needs more yellow I believe.
  3. We could go on ad nauseum. The keyboard and it's various shortcuts are somewhat responsible for the state of certain things. I get the shorthand. LOL, IMO and the like. It saves typing without question. And if all are agreed, then fine. This is the nature of language at its basest. It is a set of parameters which we all agree to. I did Not agree to Heighth, or Come with, or needs changed. In fact, I would have lobbied heavily that distorting language and manipulating it is the exact cause for a great many ills currently plaguing this country. I'll leave this here.
  4. With my degree in English I will say the Internet is a cringe fest when it comes to either spelling, pluralization or there, their, they're. But the one that really burns me is Heighth. There is no H at the end of Height. I don't know where this came from, but it makes me nuts. There, I said it.
  5. What a week. Ozzy, Hogan and now Chuck. The three's....
  6. Should you build it all to your liking, you'll have quite a garage of Rods.
  7. It is incurable. You can be made comfortable, but you will live with it all your days. We all have it so feel free to keep commiserating.
  8. I looked for a thread about displaying your builds. And while I am certain there are several, for the life of me I couldn't find one. I have a guest bedroom here in my home. It has the usual amenities, but also has a large display cabinet and an 17th century dresser with lots of space. Space for my builds that is! I have builds complete in boxes if they fit after they are complete. I have boxes in the attic as well. I have seen some of the stashes around here and while my own is respectable, it's nowhere near some of you. That being said, if I have a guest they get treated to quite a few of my recent, and not so recent builds. However, it's usually one of my brothers or friends, so they've seen it all and are not impressed.
  9. What a blob of a motor. Do your best brother.
  10. Thank Dan (Straightline) for the suggestion.
  11. It gets better each time I check in.
  12. Huge thanks Dan! Those are going to come in handy. I'll get the main stuff hooked up for sure. As for all that? WOW, for a later date perhaps. Or when I need to impress myself. Thanks buddy. Edit: looking at the single pump diagram makes me think I'll do that. Looks doable for sure.
  13. I always start with more room. I end up in the center 10 inches of space. 😁
  14. Keeps getting better.
  15. While Jake is my favorite Ozzy guitarist, No Rest For The Wicked is one of my top two favorite albums. Zakk's debut and just crammed with great stuff. Check out Breaking All The Rules for truly heavy Ozzy. Brilliant stuff on the entire album.
  16. An absolutely Nutty build. Nothing here I could hope to accomplish for sure. The paint is also off the hook Looking forward to seeing this lay down a patch.
  17. Testors Stoplight Red Metallic
  18. I wasn't sure if they came clear or not. I know they came painted so I went with that.
  19. The Chevelle is an awesome kit and fills a niche you wouldn't expect in terms of kitted muscle. All there really was, was Monograms tilt nose. And it is as good as anything Monogram or Revell we're doing.
  20. Probably more than Im willing to scratch up. But I would be alone in my build. Thanks for info. Bernstein was a focused man in terms of what it took to win.
  21. The Sun continues to do it's job on the paint and clear. Amazing! And hanging out with the Snake.
  22. No jest Sir. And stop calling me Shirley. Think about the timeline. The 66 Chevelle. The Chrysler Atlantic. Those Monster trucks like the Rammunition. There were a lot of things they were doing right at that time. Someone else chime in on the kits I forgot.
  23. And there it is... Thanks Edgar. I had no idea it had quite that much infamy, or what it was. It seems like it was an advantage. Of course I cannot copy it since I have no idea what unit he used or how it was connected. I'll have to go without I guess. Or make my own, since no one would know any better.
