MiM Dan Models Cummins Diesel Engine
Bowtienutz replied to Casey's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I placed an order through ebay for some of his products. I exchanged a few emails he said my order was shipped yet he couldn't provide a tracking number. He sent resent another. after waiting another 6 weeks and more emails I proviided ebay copies of all his email and paypal refunded my money. Only thing unfair is that I could leave bad feedback on him because it beyond the window to leave feedback. I'm sure his feedback does not reflect his true dealings. I've seen his products I'd like to deal with him but I just can't take the chance of the deal going wrong again and ebay telling me sorry we helped you once but .... -

MCM subscription-why no digital version?
Bowtienutz replied to russosborne's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I'd love to have a digital subscription. I Don't get the the haters of of digital digital magazines that never tried it. It's like a PDF File you can pick the pages you want to print. and if you want high quality print use a Photo printer and you will feel like your on the photo shoot. Do you know you can search your entire collection by keyword. Digital magazines are often cheaper than the paper many of my subscriptions are as low as $5.00 quit whining, enjoy your metal axles that goes through the oil plan and have your insurance agent over for a dinner, a walk through and inspection evaluation and ask him what he thinks of a magazine collection from the 60's. Unfortunetaly over the last 13 years I haven't bought more than 20 MC magazines I subscribed for 2 years most arrived torn up in my mail box and I had to get replacement. Change in Golden Bell's policy to replace damaged magazine made me decide to cancel. I live 90 miles (no kidding) from a hobby shop that can or will carry car the magazine so getting a copy is always hit and miss because of my health. Greg does have a game plan for a digital copy of the magazine I beta test it with him. On my end I thought it was very successful maybe he's working on a transmission method. I wish him luck he know's I'll be first subscriber. -

Incredible build and a nice street car to boot. I own a 70 Z28 SS/RS that I've owned since 79. I'm watching your build glad your taking your time and doing an accurate build.

The perimeter frame would not be the way to go, no aftermarket company uses that setup. not even in full custom frames. I recommend using a 64-65 chevy truck frame. it's the closest to stock you might find. It has the original 4 coil spring with a rear trailing arm suspension. You can go any route you like after that. Parallel rear 4 bar with air bags is popular with tubular arms and air bags with a rack up front can drop it on the ground. The front inner fenders as mentioned are wrong from and from pre 67. If you want it to lay frame the front fenders wells are modified close to something that is a wheel tub with no inside. You have to make some floor pans, cab mounts and bed mounts this route but nothing you can't handle There is a great book out there for the 1:1 building a C10 truck it's only about $10 ... lots of great ideas. good luck

Excellent work Juergen, One of the few things that have kept me from attempting that build my self was I never found a good picture where I was able to read the black text to make the decals, even with your model because of the ribs I still could not make it out. PM Sent. -

Bruce Allen's "The Outlaw" Pro Stock Firebird
Bowtienutz replied to Bruno's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
very nice job Bruno of replicating the car of some the friendliest guys in pro stock. Great detail work in the engine compartment doing the carbs and the fuel regulator. The kit may not be accurate but you made it come to life and made it believable. -
1971 Chevrolet Nova "Rallynova" Street machine from the seventies!
Bowtienutz replied to Daniel Lynch's topic in Model Cars
Nice Job! Looks fantastic. I'm a real Nova nutcase and one of the things that bug me about that kit is the body line on side of the car being too pronounced. I bet the rally stripes toned it done a little. You did a fine fine fine job takes me back. -
When selecting a brand of clear to use keep this in mind, if it's yellow in the bottle what color will it be on your model? Think about it.

Would these 3 sell even at high prices?
Bowtienutz replied to robertburns's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
No interest in the caprice but the other two I'm game. I've purchased High End resin kits before from KFS and from the pictures you have shown of the other parts looks your quality is there so. IT looks like your making the molds and you know your target price. You may not recoup all your money on this deal. From the posters on this thread I think your marketing plans are off but I think you doing this for another reason, you like this stuff.... Hey so do I, well you will be able to recoup some of your money , time and investment because you can sell some copies. IT's a win for you. keep it going Robert, Sandy whatever your name is. I like it. drop me a PM if you decide to produce the kits.
