  1. Sharp build...I'll probably will see one or two of them this weekend at Rennsport Reunion V...
  2. Nope...that was a unibody design...the Torino switched to body-on-frame construction in '72. This and the Johan '72 snap kit are the only stock '72-79 Ford midsize chassis in 1/25th I believe...
  3. Not quite that far east...
  4. I like the Fusion, have driven a few as rentals..thought about getting one for a daily driver if I moved to the West Coast..now that I'm most likely going to move back to the land of snow and ice next year, I'm leaning towards buying a new or CPO Grand Cherokee...having driven an '00 GC for 15 years, I've been very happy w/ Jeeps.
  5. My Jeep used to chime if I left the keys in and got out, but it's 15 years old and worn... My STS with push button start will chime if I get out and leave the fob inside, so I *shouldn't* be able to lock it in.
  6. Funny thing is, this is only the 3rd time I've done this in nearly 30 years of driving. And it was 6:30am and I was tired (been up since 3:30am w/ insomnia) and my Jeep doesn't chime anymore if you get out w/ the key in the ignition, so I just spaced out I guess. I lock and unlock 3 of the doors w/ the fob, but the driver's door I have to use the key or the lock button (the electricals in the driver's door are out again...it's served me well for 15+ years and 160k+ miles, but it's about time for a new daily driver...
  7. Funny you mention Onstar...my sister's Caddy DTS and my Caddy STS both have it, but never had a lockout with either one.. funny thing about keys..my sister has a couple of old Mercedes--'84 500SEL and a '91 300CE, and the keys will interchange to open the door and trunk locks, but not the igntions...
  8. Yeah, I figure I can find a single carb setup and Ford air cleaner in my parts box, a set of Magnum wheels from the '70 Torino or another source, whitewalls, not a big deal. I'm skeptical as to whether they will do a second version, can't see a plain Torino selling very well. Though ERTL did that when they did the 1:18th S&H 10-15 years ago...
  9. IIRC on the show Hutch referred to it as the Tomato...maybe I'll try and catch up on the show this winter, haven't seen it in over 30 years, liked it as a kid back in the day. I liked the movie also, Ben Stiller was hilarious as usual...
  10. Pretty sure they opened on the '72-73 but were fixed '74-76. My brother briefly had a '75 back in the '80s and IIRC they didn't go down.
  11. Besides the S&H livery, another TV version that would be an interesting build would be the derelict one seen in a show called 'The Middle'...(never seen it, but googling turned up a couple pics...) http://pics.imcdb.org/2/324mid_001742_c36.jpg http://www.imcdb.org/i287494.jpg I have ideas for at least 3...an S&H replica, a typical '70s one in olive green or brown, and a beater of some sort..
  12. One question about the clear tree...are the quarter windows included? IIRC, the test shots seen way back had them, and they would be necessary as I believe they didn't roll down on the '74-76 Torinos...
  13. If his business was a going concern, he would be updating his site..isn't that obvious?
  14. Since his site hasn't been updated since '07-08, it's apparent his business isn't in very good shape...
  15. I have the Motor City Stocker '70, the '67-69 annuals, the Modelhaus 4dr '67, the 'Allison Thunderland' MK drag car issue (to use the body to restore the '69), this new issue and the MK '71 issue...I have no interest in the decals, but I love Thunderbirds and other big '60s-70s Fords.
  16. interesting idea, but don't think the signal would go over the phone--it's not an audio signal). Anyway, the fob on my spare set of keys is dead. I called my sister, she's going to pick up my spare keys and bring them to me on the way to work....a bit out of the way since I work in Scottsdale and she works in Glendale. Better than if it had happened a month ago when she was working in LA....would have called AAA or looked for a rock....I think this is only the 3rd time I've done this in almost 30 years of driving :(
  17. It's a Monday...argh. Got to work, got out of my Jeep, went to open a back door to get my backpack (w my work laptop, etc in it)...only to realize I'd locked the car w my keys in the ignition. :(
  18. The engine insert is just a part left over from the '70, which was available only as a curbside in the Motor City Stocker series.
  19. Interesting...definitely has a retro kit feel...I see two license plate decals..are there license plates for the decals to attach to? (missing plates have been an issue on some recent US Revell boxes of RoG kits).
  20. Bidding in the last few seconds has been my standard approach for over a decade, usually works. Esp.. with today's fast internet and the eBay app on my phone, I can place a bid from anywhere, anytime. Though most of what I buy on eBay in the last year or so has been buy it now items, so it's not an issue.
  21. Got a package Wednesday from them also...the LS V12, supercharged Hemi, some seats and other parts...they look great, excellent detail and casting.
  22. His site appears to not have been updated in nearly 8 years, so...
  23. Definitely been following the shootings in the news. My commute (central Phoenix to downtown Scottsdale) is all surface streets, so I rarely ever use the freeways, but I'm more vigilant in driving.
  24. Got a box of goodies from my HLJ PW via FedEx..
  25. Yeah, the desert climate messes w/ our heads. I'm sure I'll complain about the winter when I move..
