  1. Sounds like maybe the Revell '99 Silverado..most recently reissued in 2023. It's the only extended cab Silverado kit I know of (released in stock versions and modified versions). It doesn't have a cowl hood, but I've seen resin ones on eBay. Box art of the 2023 reissue: Scalemates has pics of the previous issue box art here: https://www.scalemates.com/search.php?fkSECTION[]=Kits&q=revell+99+chevy
  2. My Cadillac has the 10spd automatic, very smooth. There is a recall for it, will be taking it in for an oil change soon and get the fix (which appears to be a software only fix). My Jeep has the ZF 8spd auto, also very smooth.
  3. I rarely ever see civilian new RCLBs on the road here in NE Ohio, occasionally a white fleet truck w/ various liveries.
  4. That kit has some proportion issues with the roof and rear quarters. I recall lots of discussion here when it was first released 20+ years ago.
  5. That is funny...last time I rode in a crew cab pickup it was with a group of engineers from my company at the Plano HQ, we were going out after meetings in search of BBQ and Buc-ees. It was a nice Ram Laramie Longhorn w/ a leather interior and all the goodies.
  6. Was in my favorite lake/beach towns yesterday and saw this very clean ‘57 Chevy 4dr..green with white roof, color keyed wheels and dog dish caps. Alas, it turned before I could snap a pic.
  7. 47F this morning when I rolled out the trash bins. Feeling like fall..a little chilly for shorts and flip flops. Went to a couple local beaches yesterday, 65 and sunny but breezy.
  8. Too much work, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they are different sizes even though both are 1/25th.
  9. No such thing with that hood, though. That twin nostril hood was never used on a regular production Comet…fiberglass part for drag racing versions, wasn’t it? Just another custom version, though weirdly with stock Cyclone wheels. Was Moebius trying to make a Cyclone? I’m sure the aftermarket will make a stock hood soon though. Edit: Found a car very similar to Moebius' box art. A '64 Comet Cyclone K-code with that hood. Lots of paragraphs of blatherage, but it does say the hood was not a factory option. Who knows, was over 60 years ago. Link: https://www.mydreamcar.online/2022/05/12/1964-k-code-mercury-cyclone/. There is a non-working link to more pics and a video on that page.
  10. When I grew up in the Florida Keys in the 80s, the local newspaper would run a weekly pic of a ‘Keys Cruiser’—either something old or customized but also often something very, very rusty. A friend from high school had a rusty ‘75 Granada he sawed the roof off of to make a convertible, for instance. A neighbor had a rusty mid 70s Cutlass wagon where the body mounts had broken off the frame and it went down the road with the body at an angle (maybe 10-15 degrees) to the chassis…
  11. As far as actual cars with different wheel bases on each side, the only one I know of is the Renault R4..may be others more obscure.
  12. The AMT '65 Galaxie has a bumper jack, toolbox, and a chromed screwdriver and pair of pliers IIRC...
  13. Sad to hear..I bought maybe 1/2 dozen kits from him about 25 years ago.
  14. A buddy in grad school had a red one, around an ‘87 IIRC. That squared hatch was a rare option. Most I’ve seen were the normal slanted hatchback.
  15. Had rain and cooler yesterday. Cloudy and humid today.
  16. Try the AccuWeather app. I’ve found it to be more accurate.
  17. Speaking of the Chevy Uplander (Outlander is a Mitsubishi), my local post office still had a couple in use back in 2019-2020.
  18. I don't know, but I do remember he had the Strictly Stock column in Scale Auto Magazine maybe 20-25 years ago.
  19. a bit cooler this week so far. Yesterday was very nice, lower humidity. Actually enjoyed sitting outside on the patio in the evening.
  20. Yeah, anything modern I just leave to the dealer to work on. I couldn't imagine trying to do anything under the hood of most modern vehicles.
  21. 70F with 88% humidity. 79F now, supposed to get to 86F later....may go to the lake this afternoon.
  22. And that Monogram Jimmy was 1/24th...was only issued once in 1980 it looks like..
  23. This is not a reissue--it's a modified version of the new tool mid 80s Blazer that came out a while back. The box art in the first post of this thread shows a stock hood.
  24. Appears to be two sets on the trees. Maybe NA and EU versions. The previous 1:1 gen (S550) had different mirrors in the EU and other markets due to regulations IIRC. Could be the same with the S650.
  25. For some reason that box art reminds me of 'King of the Hill'..
