  1. TKO-500 poking up through the floorboard inside of the firewall and the bright stuff has been mounted on the resin block from The Parts Box! -KK
  2. Tweaking little things as they come together is a constant ongoing effort... Mockups help plan upcoming tasks and modifications... Looks like there will be a little room to set the nose back a bit... Drilled guide holes for the heads & manifold... Swapped everything off the donor dummy block on to the resin block... Here's the "Money Shot" of the day! On the other side of the firewall played with the Orange Crate Bellhousing and the Rat Roaster TKO-500... Locating the location of the trans adaptor & spacer to align them on the firewall... It fits! Added the shifter to the TKO-500... With a little detail it'll look fine... -KK
  3. Call me when you fire it up! I wanna hear it roar!! Kool little A roadster!! -KK
  4. Moving forward with the resin V-12 from The Parts Box: Off with the old... 90 degree cut... That's the story on this end! Located the AMT '41 Ford water pump belt and pulleys, a little modification to fit between the motor mount and the blower... Modifications that have been made to the front of the dummy block will be transferred to the resin block. Still have a little room to set the nose back a few inches... To mount the TKO-500 to the V-12 requires an adaptor... Here's the question: What kit did the trans adaptor (part #16) kome from? -KK
  5. The Parts Box V12 arrived... Slosh Cast and klean as a whistle! Looking back at the original compared to the resin version makes me think about kleaning up the Monogram '41 Lincoln V-12... Then again if I kan epoxy these two halves together... I will say, the accessories that kome with The Parts Box V12 Parts are klean & krisp! Nice enough to section a pair of Revell '32 Ford Flatheads together to make another hot rod V-12! Just asked @Rocking Rodney Ratto see if we have a crate flathead that he kould ship up with the tonneau kover! -KK
  6. Competition Resins CRC-058 S.C.O.T. Blower Hat 1/24 Scale $5.50 https://www.compresins.com/index.htm
  7. '29 Track Nose Roadster & Lincoln V-12 Sans Trans Waiting for The Parts Box '42 Lincoln V-12 to arrive and wanting to press on with the power transplant here we are... as you may recall, the V-12 will bolt up to the fire wall. And the replacement trans will be bolted to the other side. Stripped down the donor V-12: Unbolted the stock trans from the bellhousing. Quick mockup... Add back the eye candy... This is so exciting! It's V-12 Day!! There's still a bit of tweaking... Love it when a plan comes together! -KK
  8. Yee Haa!! You're a vision of the future!!! I digress... most every day I visit another social media platform and one of my biggest enjoyments is whishing fellow modelers Happy Birthday! What I started noticing are their ages... have to say there are a lot of guys like me over 70. One of my biggest concerns is this hobby not being passed on to another generation. Over the last thirty years, gals & guys my age have been enjoying an era where the hobby's acceptance has encircled the globe. It's so rewarding to meet & greet another fellow brother! Welcome aboard the welcome wagon will be stopping by to say Hi! -KK
  9. Remember when I shared the old AMT '32 Ford Roadster Tonneau Cover? Well while studying how to widen it to fit the Revell '29 Ford Roadster (notice the narrow width deficiency) The subject came up during a conversation with Brother @Rocking Rodney Rat... he said he was sure he'd seen one somewhere on or near his bench top! The Rat Hole Well after weeks of searching... ta-daa! If you're tuned in Brother, your finding the duplicate tonneau cover will save me blending in the extra width needed to make it fit! ps Please take care in packing and shipping it to me... reminds me of the time I sent a set of wide-five AMT '36 Ford rims in a business envelope. They were returned personally by a USPS representative explaining the damage they caused going through their mail sorting machine! No kidding!! -KK
  10. Part sourcing is one of the most satisfying part of the build for me and a few others here on the MCM Forum! Following up on your front axle, did I miss where you located the drilled unit seen in your last picture? Doing your home work on any subject is a most important aspect that one can benefit from before and even during a build. With such an iconic piece of hot rod history this deuce is one of the most recognized and revered right there with Gary Baskerville's '32 full fendered roadster and maybe even more so! Do it honor, Brother!! -KK
  11. I'll say it once again, "WOW!" -KK
  12. Not one of my favorite threads... this IS my FAVORITE THREAD! To be watching over your shoulder and seeing the krispness and attention to detail down to the most minute/nth degree! Even to the eventual unseen parts that none of us will ever see again after it's up on it's rubber side! I know how much fun it is being a teacher... but being a student here, under the tutelage of Professor Stansfield, feels more like a privilege! -KK
  13. While spending most of my time concentrating on the '29 Track Nose Roadster I had an epiphany! The conclusion that I came to was the rear tires do not fit the new XPU body. So, I reached out to Hendley's Machine Shop. John said he'd take a look at what I wanted to do. Some may recall the last set of rims he did for me: Saltster Rims Front & Back I mailed the rear tires from the Monogram Black Widow Hot Rod And, as with the Saltster Front & Back Rims, the rims are from the Revell '57 Chevy Belair Little known fact: The front tires in the Monogram Black Widow Hot Rod are the "Big"s to the front tires from the Revell '29 Roadster "Littles"s! So, back to John's answer: Stage one complete... Salties turned down to.760" Going with aluminum hoops to fill the difference! Kan't wait to see them beside the XPU!?. -KK
  14. Gary, The above link will give you what you are looking for, Brother! -KK
  15. Had a go at combining the Orange Crate Seat and the '30 Coupe Bomber Seat... A little filing & sanding later: No need for the dash... Why carve it out when you can cut it off! Easy peasy! When bonded to the body it will reinforce the body and brace the inner bones! This is stacking up to being a slick track nosed roadster crossing somewhere between the salt flats and the GNRS... Now we'll have to give more attention to the power plant and drive train... -KK
  16. Headers Up, Brother! Level with the heads... straight out!! -KK
  17. Did I not tell you guys? I've known Paul for his level of detail and outstanding paint jobs for over three decades and he's just getting better! Have to share this with you... @Speedprodrove from Montana to Georgia to be a part of the ACME NNL last November. He brought his 1940 Willys Pro Street pickup that I know has to be at least twenty-five years old or more! Take a look on page 44 of the latest issue of MCM. -KK
  18. Decided to fill in the wheel wells... When they're set you won't see the seam... -KK
  19. '29 Track Nose Roadster is starting to take on some shape... -KK
  20. '49 Chevy 3100 Suburban Woody & Woodpecker Speed Boat -KK
