  1. I repainted the seat inserts. I think it looks much better now. http:// http:// http:// More work tonight after work. Later-
  2. Thank you. Later-
  3. That really does look good in gold. Never seen anyone paint it in that color. A well done, clean build. Later-
  4. Horsepower, I did clear over the Molotow and it dulls it quite a bit. Fortunately I only used it on the small stuff (side markers, door handles and locks) I figured I can touch those up easily enough. I haven't heard of any clear that doesn't dull it and it is adversely affect do by touch for a long time after applied. As far as using it through an airbrush, I've seen that it works very well. There is a site on FB called Model car hobbies worldwide! where the guys build amazing lowriders. They use it through an airbrush to do the frames and suspensions. Great work there. Later-
  5. Thanks espo. I appreciate it. Later-
  6. I have been working on the interior. Trying to replicate something close to this. http:// Here is where I'm at so far. http:// http:// http:// This is with the interior just sitting in place for inspection. I'm glad that this is not a convertible. I'm not extremely proud of this interior but going with it. http:// http:// Later-
  7. Thanks Horsepower. Yeah I haven't finished the BMF yet. This was just the first round last Friday night. I'll try to get the rest finished this weekend and then hit it with another light coat of clear to hold it all down. Later-
  8. Kelson, I sprayed it with Testors Sand Beige and then misted it with Testors Africa Mustard. Gave it a look very similar to a 69 427 interior I found on the innertube. Later-
  9. Thanks Andy. Later-
  10. Thanks guys. Yeah, George. Thanks for the help with the parts. I'll get my end of the bargain out to you tomorrow. I have never painted red lines on the tires before but I can't imagine it would be too difficult. The decals we're a lot easier than I figured they would be. I got the fourth one done and I'll spray the DulCote on it tomorrow and get the wheel mounted on the chassis. I'll try to finish the BMF this coming weekend when I can get a bit of time to sit without being interrupted. Even during my.lunch and breaks at work I am constantly getting interrupted. Later-
  11. The start of my interior: http:// http:// http:// It's amazing how slow this project has become. Got to pick up the pace a bit. Later-
  12. Kelson, Thanks. I am trying to get the shade by spraying one color and misting another over it. I have the color I want but the consistency is lacking. I may have to strip it and try again. About the chrome, the pics I saw has a split between the chrome on the t tops. There is also a division between the t tops and the windshield frame where the black seal is. My plan is to flow some thinned flat black between the t tops and the windshield frame. Later-
  13. Gotten some progress done over the last few days. Got most of the chassis done and about half of the engine. Tonight I did some BMF work. Still have a bit of BMF to do but need to head to bed. This week's progress: Three tires decaled and hit with DulCote. The fourth got off center. http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// Comments and criticisms welcomed. Later-
  14. Two great and unique builds. Nice parts swapping. Love doing things like this. Later-
  15. Looks good, but needs some closer photos (and more of them). Great work. Later-
  16. Looks fantastic. Nice, smooth paint. Later-
  17. Wow! What an amazing build. I knew, coming from you, it would be good. Nice to see it. Later-
  18. Got some time in tonight at the bench. Got most of the chassis work done. Judging by the box art car I assumed the suspension would sit a bit high so I cut the A arms a bit and reglued them at a bit of an angle up, as well as adjusting the king pins back to level. I also trimmed down the mounting points for the rear axle. All told, I assume I lowered the suspension a hair over 1/16 inch. Nothing drastic, but should help the look a bit. Tonight I also installed the red line tire decals from the most current Revell 67 Camaro kit. But, as is normal, the last one broke on me and ended up a bit off center. So, if anyone has a set from the Camaro kit that they won't be using, I'd love to trade for them. Here is the photos. http:// http:// As you can see in the second pic, NOT GOOD! That's enough for tonight. Going to try to polish the body tomorrow and, hopefully, get some BMF on. Later-
  19. Yeah, I've been using craft paint for a little bit now and it is great for interiors. Glad you like the color and that I could help. Later-
  20. I figured that I would try craft acrylics for the same reasons. I have a few colors of them, just not what I need. Been working on the chassis the last couple of days so nothing exciting to share. I am also in the process of adding redline tire decals from the recent 67 Camaro kit. More progress this weekend and I'll get some progress pics up by Monday morning. Stay tuned. Later-
  21. I will Kelson. I'll give that a try on the next one. Thanks. Later-
  22. Thanks Joe. Later-
  23. David, Thanks. Yeah, I am starting to believe that this is more the natural color of the paint and that extra coats gives it a richer color. So far, all of the "Foil" work has been done with Molotow pens. I am planning to do a bit of actual foil work around the windshield and window frames after I finish the chassis work. Perhaps on Friday or Saturday night when it is quiet. Then I will hit it with another light coat of clear to seal it down. Got to spend some time looking for a nice Saddle Tan paint to start the interior. Later-
  24. Krass- Thanks for the input. Not sure if it is bleeding through or not. Perhaps the more coats the darker it gets. I know when I sprayed the first two coats it wasn't as dark. But after the third it really popped. Either way, I think it looks nice. The only other color that I have used in this line has been the Root Beer for a 68 Firebird. Later-
  25. Thank you very much guys for the nice comments. This has been a fun build so far and I am very happy with the color. I spent lunch time yesterday painting chassis and suspension parts. Still have some touch ups to do but should be able to begin assembly today. The paint was bought many years ago at a local store that deals in hunting and fishing gear and has a huge toy section with a large selection of mainline (Revell mostly) models and paints. I bought it when this Testors line came out. All the LHS we're charging $5 and this place was $2.98. Because of that, I bought most of my paint there. It sat in my unheated garage for years until it started leaking at the bottom. I wasn't sure this can was going to work but it gave me a full can worth and sprayed great. I still have a few cans of various colors left. Later-
