  1. Wow, guys. Those are all beautiful builds. I'll have to try my hand at one.. at least. Thanks for all of the info. Later-
  2. JJ- Man, I like the work done on both of these. I really like the paint on the Merc. Looks Killer. Later-
  3. Nice work so far Ryan. Great choice for the tires and wheels. If I could suggest. On the bed you should cut the wood into strips, get some H channel that has openings the same thickness as the wood and slide the strips into the channel. This serves two purposes. First, you can alternate the grain as on a real bed. Now your grain is all the same and looks like just what it is, one slab of wood. Second, from the underside it will look like a real wood bed too with the channels separating the wood slats instead of it looking as one big slab. Nice work though so far. I always loved this year of Ford. Can't wait to finish mine. Later-
  4. Simply beautiful. Later-
  5. I realize that Gregg has had some health issues and I hope all is going as well as expected. I hadn't meant to cause any trouble or stir the pot. I hadn't had a subscription in quite a while and when it started coming a few months back I hadn't even looked at the issue date until this one. Personally I don't care much if they're late. I just like getting them. And, yes, I hope they remember to renew it too. Later-
  6. Well, still more rainy weather. But I've kept my promise to myself and got the interior painted with the Coral blue paint. I untaped the seats but the body parts that are supposed to be metal are still taped off to get a mist coat of clear green over the blue. I also replaced the gear shifter with a straight pin that I bent to shape. I also primed all of the body parts and can see that I've got a bit more work to do on it. It's progress. Later-
  7. Man, the more I see these types of paint jobs, the more I want to try one. Very nicely done Phil. Later-
  8. Well, I wasn't trying to make a big deal of her. I just figured if she was in Jim's pic, she must be someone famous. Since I'm not into wrestling, I didn't know her. BTW- My wife ran into Ben Stein at the Spokane Airport once. He was busy putting a voice message on a girl's phone by saying "Bueller, Bueller." Maybe if we drop it and get back on topic it will all go away. Here I are. Later-
  9. Jairus- I was sure that I wasn't the only one out there but it was getting lonely. I may be able to get my kit transported to the contest..if the weather and my honey do list would cooperate. It's raining again today and I am still putting my bedroom and bathroom back together. Then I have a little tree to plant and a garden bed to build today. But, I do have the heater in the model room going. Gonna get out there some time today. Later-
  10. Man, Randy. That thing was beautiful too. It's a shame that happened. I was beginning to think that I was the only one left building. Good to see I've got company. Tonight's progress is taping off the interior panels for the Coral paint TOMORROW, no matter what! Then I'll get the PE window switches in place. I'm going to wash the body first thing in the morning and get a coat of primer on it to see where I stand. I know that I still have body work to do on the side scoops on the doors. I also began the exhaust work tonight. I got two pieces bent identically and they will somehow be joined into one collector then into the stinger. That will come tomorrow night. I'm hoping for decent weather tomorrow. Otherwise, I'm cranking the heat in the hobby room and spraying anyway. Later-
  11. Well, THAT'S the LAST thing I want is controversy. I'll just quietly enjoy my freebies. Thanks for the heads up, Lee. Later-
  12. That is a nice build. I love the color combo and the interior is clean. Later-
  13. Sorry, Lee. Guess I don't keep up with the rest of the class at times. Later-
  14. The weather is still not cooperating with me. Just took these a few minutes ago. Been getting this "Liquid Sunshine" for weeks. Doesn't the weather know I have a deadline to meet? Or, maybe it does. Gonna have to get out to the hobby room and paint anyway real soon. Maybe tomorrow. I'll be done with painting the bathroom by then. Then most of the day will be mine. Later-

    Nice;

????? Forget a drawing?? LOL Later-
  16. I had just started painting the bathroom when my wife brings in the mail and in it is my new issue of MCM. Now, on a side note, I'm still trying to figure out where this subscription came from because I haven't had the money to set aside for a sub. But for the last three issues they've been coming-addressed to me. Whoever it was, I thank you! My wife says that it is SATAN that sent it. LOL Anywho... You've never seen someone paint a bathroom so fast. Taking a break, I sit down to start reading the Editor's note and it starts off "Happy New Year!" Thinking that this is the joke for the April issue I look at the date on the cover and it says JAN 2011!!?? Is this more of the joke? So, I get up and run out to my car where the last issue that came to me is siting in the passenger seat and it says DEC 2010! I had never noticed the dates on the other issues that had come to me. Is MCM that far behind? Or have I gotten some sort of a free, dump the extra stash subscription, or am I in a time warp??? Don't get me wrong, I love the free subscription. Just curious if everyone's is like this or what? Later-
  17. Beautiful build. What type of paint did you use to replicate the vinyl interior? It has just the right look. Later-
  18. I don't know.... I'm not sure I trust someone who's from Alaska...And now tells me he's someone else? Something here is shifty. RUN GUYS RUN!!! DON'T LOOK BACK!!! HE'S STILL BEHIND US! Just kidding. I spent too many years in Anchorage and Palmer. Must have been the lack of sun in the winter. Welcome back. Gotta love these computers. Later-
  19. Stasch- No these are 1 oz bottles that are labled House of Kolor Universal Base (Paint Name and Code) Packaged by Black Gold I've gotten Nova Orange, Cinder red, Lime Gold Pearl, Galaxie Silver(?), Light Teal Metallic and a few others. Later-
  20. Darin- The work you are doing is simply stunning. I, too, love this car. I went to a buddy of mine's house once in the early 90's and he was showing me some of his kits stashed away in his closet. He told me I could pick one ( I already had close to 300 of my own at this time). Up on the top shelf was this kit. I had never seen it before and I also fell in love with the box art. Needless to say he wouldn't let me have it! Instead I picked out an old MPC 70 Firebird Trans Am kit. (nice box art too). Have you ever thought about building a replica of Larry Watson's 55 Chevy "Seaweed"? That's the one I'm planning for. Keep it up. I'm watching. Later-
  21. Looks like you're off to a good start. What's in the plans? Later-
  22. Nice quality work so far. Keep it up. A flower car would be a good companion build for this one. I hope I don't die BEFORE you finish it. LOL. Later-
  23. Pics show the coil wire not on the coil so I fixed it. Should fire right up now. Later-
  24. I started off tonight to work on the exhaust and instead I ended up wiring the engine. Oh well, it needed done anyway. Here is the start. The little dizzy with coil wire. Almost there. Getting them wires on the right fished back behind everything was a pain! And here it is finished. I got the wires on the left pushed down for a little sag and to clear a pipe that is to be put on in the future. This was the easiest wiring job I've done so far. All of the wires cooperated and went to their homes. I'm just glad that it is a 4 instead of 8 cylinder! Later-
