  1. Now I can see why it has taken nearly two years. Great work on it and I LOVE the paint job. Looking at the series of photos it was easy to see the progression of the paint. Just fantastic work. It looks like a winner. Later-
  2. My question is this: Why was a camera set up in a hotel room pointing at the car the entire time? Seems to me like they were looking to film something specific. Too bad it happened. Later-
  3. Justin- I like the work you're putting into this one. I always have had a hard time with chopping tops. It's a lot of work to get a good looking top. Your process is just like the way I did it on my 55 Ford pickup. Keep it going and let us see the progress. Later-
  4. Kevin- That is a great looking color with the pearl green over it. I saw that Celery green in Wally World the other day. I should pick some up. I love the 1109's on it too. Later-
  5. Michelle- I like what you've done with the Charger. The gold is beautiful,as are the steel wheels. I agree with DaveZinn on the MiniLites from Rep & Min. They're top notch. I have a set here that I have had for years for a 70 Boss Mustang Trans Am build someday in the future. As a matter of fact, I need to get a couple more sets. Keep up the great work and Welcome to the site. Later-
  6. Nice work that you've done on this. I've always wanted one of these to build as a slightly customized ambulance, but I never did get one. If I were to go that route (slightly customized ambulance), which kit would be better? The original or the newer kitted version? For those interested, I saw a very clean 1:1 71 Olds ambulance today. I may stop back by to take photos of it for a future build using the new 72 Olds kit. Later-
  7. I like the color myself. It sure beats another red Camaro and with the white stripe I think it will look great. The color reminds me of a Bahama Blue (I think that was the name) with white racing stripes 67 Camaro that an old coworker of mine owned. Beautiful car. BTW- I noticed that your hood is different than the one in orange plastic. Did you modify it or is it a completely different hood? Later-
  8. Simon- I'm sure you'll be seeing it in the Workbench section soon as it has been moved to the top of my list once I finish the VW. Junkman- It is from Fujimi's Racing car Series. I don't know anything about the car itself. The kit only includes a driver's seat (Right hand drive) but does come with stock wheel covers along with the racing wheels. It also includes front and rear bumperettes, (Verticle bumpers rather than a long horizontal) two per end. Other than that, I don't see much for stock parts. The box shows three small picture -- the original race car, a picture of a Japanese driver, and a picture of his trophy case with his helmet. It is going to be a fun car to build. Later-
  9. Cesar- Good to see you again. It's been quite a while. Your builds are always educational and fantastic. Nice to have you here. What are you working on these days? Later-
  10. Got these two in a recent trade with Whale392. Thanks a lot! They're great. SARD Toyota Supra Stock Supra I picked these two up at the Local Hobbytown today. Got it for $11.00 1990 Fujimi Toyota S800 for $13.00. I've never seen this before and it was just too neat to pass up. Can't wait to dig into it. Later-
  11. Bruce- That is really looking good. I love the stripes. Keep it going. Later-
  12. Yeah, Mike. I'm back. I'll get some photos up soon. I cut out the openings for the side vents and finally got my mind wrapped around how I should be able to rework the (swing arms??) for the rear suspension. I did all of the lowering of it but I need to do the modifying to attatch them to the deeply inset rear wheels. Stay tuned. Later-
  13. Neat idea Kevin. I've seen a few flower cars before (usually 50's era cars) and somewhere in my vast array of photos I have a few shots of a 53 Caddy (if I remember correctly). Keep it up. I'm curious to see how this one comes out. Later-
  14. Hey Guys- I know I sound like a broken record here but for those who care, I am on my way back to New Mexico in 6 1/2 hours to finish my job there. I'll be gone until about the 12th. Once I get home I promise I'll get some photo updates on here. Who knows, I may even have those side vents done. Later-
  15. Looking great Mike! I should be home in about a week and I'll be posting photos of my progress then. Been getting a lot of the body work done. Keep yours up! Later-
  16. Bruce- The movie stunk and I will not be posting any photos till I get home. Hotel computer. How's your Vette coming? Later-
  17. Thanks Bruce- I'm here in Taos, NM and I'm on my way to the room to pop in a movie and work on the Beetle a bit. Got to get that rear suspension sitting right. Later-
  18. Tony- Wow! You have been busy. It's looking great. I like the colors in the interior. Keep it up. Later-
  19. I then turned my attention to the lowering of the suspension. The axle shaft (I guess that's what it is) is molded with a slight arch to it and the instructions show to install it with the arch up, making the rear sit higher. I turned it over to lower it but it still didn't cause enough of a lowering job. So I cut a pie shape almost all the way through each side. I then ran out of glue so I couldn't glue it in place to check the ride height. I also had to notch the underside of the chassis pan to keep the shocks from hitting when I lower it. this is the start of the notch. I got the rest of it done and had to go to dinner before I could take more photos. It is coming along. I leave again tonight or tomorrow for another job so I'll be getting more time in the hotel to work on it. Not sure when the next updates will be though. Any comments or criticisms welcomed. Thanks for following along. Later-
  20. Morning all. As promised, I have a few photo updates. I had done a bit more puttying and sanding on the air scoop to get it to this stage. Then, after comparing my progress to the original drawing, I realized that the scoop was too tall. So I hacked the scoop right down the center and took out about 1/8 inch and squeezed it back together to lower the height. Next up- Lowering the rear suspension. Later-
  21. Well guys, I'm still working out of town. So while I have updates, I don't have any photos. I am on the hotel's puter. I've been working on lowering the rear suspension. It turned out to be easier than I thought. I'll explain the steps when I post photos. Hopefully Saturday night. I also am reworking the air intake on the roof. It was too tall. More later. Check back sometime this weekend. Later-
  22. Slant6- The disassembling looks to be coming along nicely. Don't fret those little yellow decals in the trunk. You have replacements on the way. Keep the pictures coming and I'll check back with you when I get home later this week. Glad I could help. Later-
  23. Well, they were a version that I wasn't aware of. And interesting, at that. As for the kit that my friend has. He says that he's not sure what it is, but that it is larger than 1/24 and smaller than 1/12. He also decided that He is going to do the build. I suggested that he scrap the kit he has and get a 1/24 or 1/25. He says that it may come to that. Either way, I'm off of the hook. If I could convince someone to make the decals I'd do one in 1/24 or 1/25 for myself. Later-
  24. Or this one: http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/ehobbies-com_2108_84609963 I've got just the body to this. If anyone has spare parts I'd love to talk with you..... I'd love to build this: http://image.hotrod.com/f/10301688/hrdp_0806_cool_05_z+c_cab_bucket.jpg Later-
  25. Slant6- That is the decal I'm sending you. Also sending the PORSCHE decal that I believe goes across the back and a small one that says Turbo. I seriously doubt that you'll be able to re-use any decals. I've never heard of anyone doing it. There are many articles on this site about stripping paint and what best to use. However, since you sprayed it black it may take some time. Black seems to be the hardest to strip. If there are any other parts you need let me know. I have a spares kit of that Porsche that I've been pulling parts from. I know that you wanted to get this done by Father's day, but I'll be out of town for a week starting tomorrow. Later-
