  1. Nothing wrong with this concept - and it saves in agonizing over what color to use on the next project. Tim
  2. Nice scratchbuilding. Tim
  3. Cool Indeed! A modern trailer. Now if there was a modern red oval to go with it.. Tim
  4. Talk about 'out of the box' creative ! Tim
  5. Do you mean the 'bobbed' bumpers that have the ends cut off? If so, this was originally done in the 1970's. The theory was that the short bumper would not be bent back into the steer tires in the event of a collision with an animal. Tim
  6. The AMT WWS is scheduled for '12. Round2 is planning a revamped decal sheet to correct the size issues the original decal sheet had with the company name logos. Tim
  7. Probably not much. 1/16th is too big for me - no place to display them. Tim
  8. Same here, great quality and product. Tim
  9. Kit Form Services 2 holes are direct replacements for the Italeri wheels. www.kitformservices.com Tim
  10. Very nice combination. Tim
  11. That's their 2011 (this year) announcements from last year.
  12. The extra tanks, longer frame and bigger bunk make a big difference. Tim
  13. Mark, For the 379, the cab moves rearward, as do the battery/tool boxes. You will need to lengthen the exhaust piping and air cleaner piping. The cab also sits lower on 379-127" compared to the 378. The cab mounts are lower all around. For the 388, the cab will be further back than 378 (119" versus 123" for 388) and the cab will sit slightly higher than 378. For 389, (which has a 131" BBC) the cab will be slightly higher than 379-127. Still, much lower than 378. If you want to keep all the kit frame mounting holes in the right locations, the best place to add length to the rail is ahead of the battery boxes. For 388 you'd be adding 4 inches. For 379-127 you'd be adding 8 inches and for 389 you'd be adding 12 inches (in 1/24th) to keep all the other components lined up with the cab. If you lengthen the rails, you will need to lengthen the driveshaft. Tim
  14. Jim, Thanks! I forget to add coffee cups and pop cans. Tim
  15. I have 1/25 and 1/24 parked side by side on my shelves, the difference doesn't bother me at all. Tim
  16. I've been on vacation for a while, and this project has been sitting on the sidelines waiting for the "Joe Brown" lettering to be printed. Here's a couple of update photos. Jim, on the color question, I haven't used the Swamp Holly to compare the colors. I had hoped to be able to photo some Joe Brown trucks while in Oklahoma and Texas recently, but only saw one truck, a newer Freightliner I think? and I wasn't in a position to photograph it. Tim
  17. Mark, Yes, the Laidlaw is Canadian. The wide-spread rear axle was a common Canadian spec. Tim
  18. That orange Reliable Pete was very nice. I snapped that photo back in June '02 ? when it was parked at the Mackinac County Airport - the only place in town it could park and still be able to get the show cars off the truck for the car show here (back when the show was big). I have another view.. Drat, that's the same pic, just wider. Someplace I have side views and a rear view of the sleeper. Tim
  19. SWEEET! It looks like a former Laidlaw unit with the sleeper removed. Tim
  20. I guess I forgot to post the pics ! D'uh. I'll do that this evening. Tim
  21. I've never had a decal stripe not do what yours are doing. I mix acrylic paint to touch up those decal trouble spots. Tim
