  1. Sounds to me like you've got it planned out pretty well. For the strengthening the frame, I use an insert inside the splice area, running about 1/2 inch or more on either side of the splice. The insert is usually brass that I epoxy or superglue in. Tim
  2. Cool to see someone building a left-only breather. Tim
  3. All of the Revell of Germany Peterbilt 359 kits are based on the original Revell of Los Angeles,CA Black Magic kit. Tim
  4. Yup, it's a great 359 but a lousy 353. Build it as a 359. Tim
  5. It isn't worth much once started with a broken frame. Mint/unbuilt is where the value is. Tim
  6. The slump is due in part to HobbyLobby only carrying a select few of the kits available from their distributors.
  7. Nice work so far. Tim
  8. Looking good. Tim
  9. You might need to stretch the frame a bit for the trailer to sit right on the cabover. COE loggers were used. I've seen photos of Petes, KW's, White-Freightliners, Macks, GMC's, Hayes, etc all COE's, some sleepercab, some non-sleeper. They all had long wheelbases and most had overhanging frame rails aft of the drive axles. I'd say add an 2 inches (actual length) to the frame between the fuel tanks and the rear suspension and you'll have enough room. Tim
  10. Charles, I've been forgetting to submit photos to the Italeri site. Thanks for reminding me. Tim
  11. I finished this up Saturday and spent most of Sunday finding locations to take photos (getting sunburned in the process). I was inspired by the model 357-115 mixer used in Peterbilt promotional material back in late 2005. I came across the same truck in late 2008 looking a bit less shiny. My version uses an Italeri Peterbilt 377A/E with the cab reworked to a daycab and newer doors/mirrors. Resin parts from STS, KFS and P&P were used. The old Rex Mixer from an Ertl Paystar Mixer was used with some subtle modifications. I used Duplicolor rattle-can bright blue metallic with several coats of clear. BumperChrome paint was used on the wheels, bumper, battery box and fuel tanks. I used Bare Metal Foil UltraChrome for the grille crown. Thanks for looking! Tim
  12. Big'n'beefy! I like the wheelbarrow. Tim
  13. It does. Most automotive vinyl sign shops have this product and will sell "scraps." Tim
  14. I use the front tires from the Can-Do/Bill Signs kits as super-single/wide based tires. Tim

  16. All of the Revell of Germany (formerly Revell Los Angeles) Peterbilts are 1/25th scale, as is it car hauler, flatbed, gravel trailer and tanker trailer. The Kenworth W900, W900 wrecker, T600 and K100 are also 1/25th. The Revell of Germany Ford LTL, Aeromax, Peterbilt 377 are all rebadged Italeri 1/24th scale kits. Tim
