  1. I use multiple pieces. If you tried it with one long piece you'll end up becoming very frustrated. Tim
  2. I look at it this way - if a hobby pays you, then it becomes work. Tim
  3. I use round metal mesh made by www.planomodelproducts.com and install the mesh (cut to size) from the rear with 2-part epoxy. Tim
  4. Mine has no fan or temperature settings and I have to be VERY careful with length of time a part stays in the drier. I have to very REALLY careful with resin, short, short sessions in the drier or shapes change quickly (and not for the good). Tim
  5. Back then, interiors were often painted the same color as the exterior, or depending on the manufacturer, a specific color - Mack painted a light green, Peterbilt painted a bronze-metallic. Each truck is going to be different. About the only constant will be the steering wheels - which used to be an off-white beige color. Tim (not much help)
  6. The engine is very realistic. Tim
  7. I believe the "commercial" class should be broken down into classes that the real trucks have, class 5, 6, 7 and 8, off road/heavy equipment. Tim
  8. The stripes match the color nicely. Good choice. Tim
  9. I've seen this company on the road when traveling but never can get a photograph of the trucks. The green and orange scheme caught my eye. I've seen most all makes for them. I've chose (gee, go figure) a Peterbilt for my Joe Brown truck (Brown using green and orange and no brown?) Basing my build on a photo from Don Querciagrossa on HanksTruckPictures.com My version uses an Italeri 378 (the older kit) with a sleeper from the 377 cut to a 36" low roof using a roof from P&P. The wheelbase was cut down slightly. The 378 cab was modified to a single right-hand air cleaner and exhaust. I moved the kit fuel tanks forward and made steps for the tanks. The wheels are Kit Form Services. My orange stripe matches the chassis (Krylon Allis-Chalmers Orange) - it should have been a bit brighter - more neon? More pics are on my site http://www.timstrucks.com on the workbench album or on http://public.fotki.com/mackinac359/workbench-1/joe-brown-pete/ Thanks for looking! Tim
  10. Don't rule out the Revell of Germany Kenworth K100 - you'll need aftermarket decals. Tim
  11. How about 'parchment' ?
  12. Mike, To post photos you need a Fotki or Photobucket account to host your photos. Then you can link to them from the forum. Check the 'building a Movin'on truck' thread, I added links on that thread. Tim
  13. That was indeed a Christine replica parked there.
  14. As requested, here's some BJ & the Bear material from the Richard Crane Memorial Truck Show this past weekend in St.Ignace. Photos on my Fotki page http://public.fotki.com/mackinac359/movinon/bj--the-bear/ Tim
  15. Bob mentioned a sharp knife - remember that. Sharp knife. If the knife blade is slightly dull at all it will tear the foil. Brand-new sharp blade everytime. (repeat this to yourself). Tim
  16. The Fotki pictures will help - and all this 'buzz' about making a model has allowed me to create an upcoming column with more specifics on building the truck. http://public.fotki.com/mackinac359/movinon/movinon-1/ Tim
  17. I just added another YouTube - and have a Fotki page uploading now. Plenty of detail photos. Keep in mind, the truck in the photos has been modified over the years - the wheelbase is longer with a Peterbilt Air Leaf suspension on it now, the wheels are also newer. Tim
  18. That's my K100 Aerodyne in Sonny Stripes - and my pic of the W900L at St.Ignace from several years ago. Tim
  19. Lots to come. I spent all day crawling around these two trucks. Tim
  20. Ok - I'm in seventh heaven this evening - I just got out of Paul Sagehorn's Sonny Pruitt truck ridin' shotgun for a short trip. I'm 13-14 years old - looking out over the hood where Will Chandler sat. Here's a little video of the truck when Paul got here. Tim
  21. The 386 would have been my fault - the master wasn't that good. Tim
  22. I agree! Check out the super Peterbilt 350 ! Never a disappointment with AiTM. Tim
  23. Paul Sagehorn will be bringing the Movin'On truck and BJ & The Bear K100 to the Richard Crane Memorial Truck Show this weekend in St.Ignace, Michigan. I will get as many photographs as possible. Tim
  24. I got my cabs and parts from Eric today. W ow!~ This stuff is nice and smooth. I immediately set out to carving on one of the cabs to change it to an underhood aircleaner version with the new 1 piece windshield. Here's the rough changes I've made this evening. It might become a 384 or 386. Tim
