  1. No endless supply - just robbed from the various kits - and built-ups I've bought over the years. The kit tires were then replaced with resin floats. Tim
  2. I use these things for 'SuperSingles' (aka wide based tires) on aero trucks. Tim
  3. Drom is short for "dromedary" as in the carrier mounted on a camel. Tim The front and rear wheels are from Jamie at Mo'Luminum. The lift axle.. I'm not sure who I got those from. Tim
  4. (pronounced "beem-bo") Inspired by photos sent to me by David Faust. More pics are on http://www.timstrucks.com and my Fotki site at http://public.fotki....t-drom-tractor/ Thanks for looking! Tim
  5. They indeed were available with gas engines. No hood air cleaner intake and typically full cab running boards instead of the large diesel tanks on both sides. I've seen them with one gas tank on the right, or left or aft of the cab. They all had under frame exhaust. Tim
  6. Kostas, The photo of the 379-127 on the box was supposed to be retouched and modified into a 378 before being used. That never happened. The photo was originally provided for the stripe reference. This should look familiar...
  7. The front axle is too wide and looks best narrowed and moved forward slightly to allow the tire to clear the battery box. Tim
  8. Gordon, A new Pete or KW would be easier to license with the PACCAR MX engine.. no need for additional licensing from an engine maker. Tim
  9. Traditional style is my forte' but that doesn't mean a swoopy aero truck isn't desired. Soon that is all the truck builders will be building.. Tim
  10. I doubt the model companies will make a new kit of a truck that isn't produced anymore. The truck manufacturers want their current product to be represented and hint at that when licensing agreements are reached. "Is it new or vintage?" Product such as the: Kenworth T700 http://www.kenworth.com/2100_vir_t700.asp or Peterbilt 587 http://www.peterbilt.com/aero587.3.aspx .are prime examples. A model company could produce both kits - use the same frame rails, front springs, axles, engine, radiator, glass for each, then separate brand specific rear suspension, fuel tanks, fairings, cab, sleeper, hood, bumper, roof, interior, chrome, etc. Tim
  11. Great weathering! Very realistic. TIm
  12. Really nice work. Welcome to the forum. Tim
  13. Nice! Natural light sure makes things look better. Tim
  14. Nice work swapping the Cat in there. Tim
  15. I fill the seams with CA glue, hit it with some CA accelerator and then sand the sames away. Unfortunately, my spotters guide is gone. An entire portion of my website is gone after a server problem. Tim
  16. The black is an optional version. Tim
  17. The idea came from this photo found on Hank's Truck Pictures. You can see the photo under the model here ... The photo was the inspiration for the stripes that AMT used. Here's a box-stock version using the decals and the photo from Hank's as the inspiration. Tim
  18. Jim Thanks, I caught it on the fly - almost didn't get the photo. Tim
  19. Here a real Italeri LongHauler 378 in red and silver. Tim
