We had that on the agenda here in Wisconsin, but the liberal butt-tards that run this state shot it down. Thanx to you Zeb for learnin' us carpet baggers 'bout the real history of those flags. I had always wanted to put the Stars and Bars on a Dukes Charger and post it "you know where" and see if the "Sheriff" would catch it. :(

What are your favorite car songs?
lordairgtar replied to Darrell Gwinn's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Listen to all three versions, originally released by The Daytonas in 64, then J&D in 66, followed by the Who in 66 The Who http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdG8JG8EO3U Jan and Dean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O04lvwUi5tA Ronnie And The Daytonas -
When an HHR does the Nurburgring at 155 mph, I think the Ecotech DOES cut it. Very easily modded engine and gives decent performance and economy in it's stock form, both 2.2 and 2.4 versions. The turbo 2.0 is cool. I love my Ecotech powered car. Arrogant!? WHat does that make Ecuador with 90 cent a gallon gas? We certainly do not think we are entitled to cheap fuel, but certainly we should not hinder companies that could explore and drill and build and maintain refineries. I think the lefties are the arrogant ones with their self inflicted guilt trips over the environment and climate change and PETA and all the rest. We will get the government we so richly deserve this fall.

What are your favorite car songs?

YUP! Even with all I've listed, I've got the largest car song collection in my area amongst fellow DJs that do car shows. The list I posted is just a small portion of what i have. -

I have a disc with over ten versions of that song. Bill Kirchen and the Too Much Fun Band did a cool version where he imitates the style of several different famous bands and guitarists during the middle of the song. Everyone from Johnny Cash, Elvis, dick Dale, and even BB King and others. Kirchen played with Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen -

I support my LHSs, but we have good ones in the Milwaukee, Kenosha, and Racine areas. First, Greenfield News And Hobbies is excellent. Lot's of kits plus everything else like magazines (all kinds) from model mags to car mags, craft, news, political, science, art, music, writing, puzzles and even those...uh...the ones you find under Gregg's bed! :D:D:o:o<_< Can be pricey but atleast our model club gets a discount, plus it is where I can buy my art supplies. Then, Model Empire is also a great one, great kit selection and our club displays our builds there. They also have OOP kits for sale, plus military, rockets, Breyer horses and the largest selection of photo-etch I've seen anywhere. Prices are low, and there is always the shelf with the new release stuff at discount. I rarely buy online anywhere as I am in the process of going completely debt free and have cut up all the credit cards save one.

Corvette Info request.....
lordairgtar replied to Len Geisler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Unless in the shops for a repaint, most railroads (and other fleet operators) ordered the basic color from the fleet sellers book and paint was applied at the factory. You might find a few repainted color over white trucks used by railroads and utilities. My dad worked for the Milwaukee Road, later known as Soo Line after the merge. I think it's now Canadian National. -
"Resin Talk" is returning.

Who carries Mr. Tapani's resin models? -
It's a model, I seen it in a magazine.

Can't wait for that one , Rick. I talked with Gary a while back and yes, it will be great. I have been sworn to secrecy, so don't bug me about it. -
I took mine and had a local body shop paint my old coaster wagon I use to haul my art stuff around at car shows. I did not paint it red, it's blue metallic.

we may be saying goodbye to Mercury
lordairgtar replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In the sixties and seventies, at least those cars did look different from one another although they shared a lot under the sheet metal. When the eighties came a Regal looked like a Monte looked like a Cutlass. The Grand Prix did look a bit different from those, but not by much. I remember my sister's Parisienne was nothing but an Impala/Caprice with Pontiac trim. -

Biscuit, the 49, 50, and 51 Mercs were different from the Ford range as well. Just look under your handiest Ford and Merc models of the same years. -

I hardly would consider Mercury an "Old Peoples Car". -
I know what you mean, these sometimes are one hour or an hour and a half in time to make. So I only do maybe three to five at any given car show.

Very nice work on the Can Am. Looks better than my drawings, seriously.
