  1. Here's to you, Bob! I enjoy all your posts, especially the stories of your days in the industry. DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER, WE LIFT UP OUR BROTHER AND FRIEND TO YOU, LORD. WE ASK THAT YOU GUIDE THE HANDS OF HIS LEARNED SURGEONS AS THEY DO THEIR WORK. WE ASK THAT YOU GIVE HIM STRENGTH AND COMFORT DURING THIS ORDEAL AND THAT YOU ALSO GIVE COMFORT TO HIS FAMILY, FRIENDS AND FELLOW MODELLERS. WE ASK THIS IN JESUS' NAME...AMEN.
  2. Don't think a plastic kit was ever made, but maybe a resin caster did one.
  3. Kumbaya, my Lord, kumbaya.....
  4. 1958 Edsel Part Interchange List All Models - The E-400 used the same major components as the 1958 Ford, including water and fuel pumps, heads and exhaust manifolds. The E-475 is similar to the 1958-1961 Lincoln and Mercury 430 cid V8. All parts will fit, except the pistons, which are 0.100 inches larger in the 430. The Mercury 383 engine is also a similar match, except for the carburetor, crankshaft and pistons. The 383 carburetor will fit the E-475, but expect a 5-15% drop in horsepower. Transmissions for the E-475 are compatable with the 1958 Lincoln. Pumps and tail housing controls are a match on the 1958 Mercury single-drive range, but the transmission case is not because of Mercury's push-button shifting control. Citation/Corsair - Windshield, doors and side glass can be found on the 1957 and 1958 Mercury of the same body type. (Rear glass is unique to Edsel.) Wheel rims are identical to 1957 to 1960 Mercury. 410 Engine exhaust manifold to muffler inlet gasket is identical to the current Nissan gasket number 20692-1E810. Pacer/Ranger - Doors and all glass can be found on the 1957 and 1958 Ford Fairlane and Fairlane 500 models of the same body type. Wheel rims are identical to 1957 to 1960 Mercury. Bermuda/Villager/Roundup - Sheetmetal from the firewall back is the same as the 1957 Ford wagons. Doors and all glass is the same as the 1958 Ford wagons. The front doors can also be found on the 1957 and 1958 Ford Custom and Custom 300 sedans. Wheel rims are identical to 1957 and 1958 Ford.
  5. I liked the show. Too many of us are over analyzing the show. Accept it for what it is...pure fantasy and action.
  6. I'm having trouble with it again. It never accepts my pass or username. I just gave up. Sure would like to put some kits up for sale there.
  7. Thanks for taking the time to sign up. We're glad to have you here. Comment away.
  8. When I met my lady, and things got serious, I told her about what I do for a hobby and that I have done it for a long time. I figured better to be up front instead of being sneaky. I said I won't be giving up what I enjoy and I won't deny her the things she enjoys. We've been together for over eight years and she supports me in the hobby. She will go to the model swap meets and the model club meetings and the car shows as well. She even will spot kits at rummage sales and swaps and buy them for me. How cool is that? My advice for finding the perfect woman is not just someone you can be in love with, but someone who you can LIKE as well. That goes a long way to creating the perfect relationship. I have seen a lot of people who are "in love" but can't get along very well.
  9. The Pyro Triumph GT6 2+2 is actually a nice model. I would vote for the former Hubley Rolls Royce now done by Mini-Craft. Those molds don't even line up.
  10. Let's do the Time warp again...It's just a jump to the left...
  11. Pretty much the same as I do. Are you a job shop for other companies? You could always send us the production work, keeping it in the US.
  12. Since I live in Wisconsin, I hope to see this car.
  13. I like the DM and FM cars, too. I have a couple of them. I tend to choose ones I can't get as plastic kits. I just wish they would find a better way to address the door hinge problem. Great looking models only to be ruined when you display the doors open.
  14. Quite true, plus I get to make my own cables for the DJ business I have.
  15. 68 GTO dash? That's a rare bugger.
  16. They have vaccine shots for that. Being Diabetic, I get them when the doctor can pin me down. (I hate needles) Had all my shots this year...flu, pneumonia, distemper...uh just kidding on the last one.
  17. I knew a black guy around here who drove a General Lee charger clone and brought it to car shows, battle flag and all. Says he was just a fan of the show.
  18. HMMMMM, where does one keep over a thousand unbuilt models living in a small two bedroom apartment? I have the majority of them in the bedroom stacked up along the wall on my side of the bed, others are in the closet and yet some more are in the front closet in boxes.
  19. I work at Custom Wire Industries. I make coaxial cable terminations for all kinds of coax cable from large diameter stuff to the rigid coax which is at .037 Outside Diameter. I'm currently involved with making stuff to help armed forces detect and render IEDs in-operative in the field. I also do receiving and inspecting. I am the bane of any engineering staff at any company we do work for. I am the one that calls them and says "Are you nuts? We can't build this as designed". I've been at this company since 1991. I also create auto art at car shows for extra money and I don't even have to sell myself anymore, people come up to me as soon as my car shows up at the show wanting drawings. When I get the scanner up, I will post some. I'm no Jairus, but I hold my own. I also have a small DJ service. I only do car shows and similar events...mostly for charity, so I keep the rates quite low.
  20. It wasn't Pepsi, it was a bottle of YooHoo chocolate drink.
  21. What about figure 8 drivers? Seemed like a crazy bunch there.
  22. Maybe he used Armorall
  23. Don't forget the 55, same body but with a V8. I don't know specifics of color options there but I think Bronze was a color offered that year.
