  1. The Harbor freight air brushes are around $30. I've seen the Miller 2000 compressors and they are cheap and noisy. Brush could be the same way.
  2. I got my state and fed tax refunds today! Bought a new coat as my old coat no longer zipped up and I was tired of being cold. MOdel shop excursion tomorrow....YAY me!
  3. Moparfan1, thanks for the comment. Don't be so down on what you percieve to be poor quality entries. These shows often have a certain amount of local cars in the arena to fill space. For every celebrity car like a batmobile that the WOW pays to have displayed, the show needs x amount of locals to pay entry fees. These might be from local clubs who are invited at their own expense to have cars in the show and perhaps compete for the local trophies (which the clubs also pay for in extra judged fees)
  4. At least you still have a model contest, Tony.
  5. Another thing, I understand the appeal of having maybe a character like Spongebob there for the kids, but do we really need wrestlers and Playboy centerfolds and some tarted up dance company/calendar girls? What has that to do with cars?
  6. World Of Wheels is coming to many of the cities we live in and one thing that has gone away is the model contest. This was the one contest that many of us went to before we started doing NNLs and other events not connected to a car show. Through much digging around and detective work I find the main reason is venues do not want to part with those free Sunday passes allowing the models top be picked up. Bottom line, they ain't making the money off the second admission. Rumor has it that the pinstripe for charities is going to go away soon as well because those artists have been getting free admission for the weekend. Some venues have them pay for the first day but they get passes for the rest. I live in an area where I can see all the cars I want during show season here for free. That said, if it wasn't for my presence to be there because of our car clubs display, I would not go. In our venue, the house electrician is the only one who can plug in your lights and other rigs if you need it. Tnhe food is vended by the same people who sell food at our sports stadiums and is often way over priced....but the get it staffed by volunteers who work for free from some local organization for a small cut to the charity they represent. Then the property also gets a parking fee as well at $5 a car...add $16 per person entry and maybe $8 for hot dog, $5 for soda, maybe a side at $5 on top of that. If you are there all day for the whole weekend it adds up. Our particular venue is on State Fair property but the building is owned by a private firm and they make us bend over and like it. With experience in putting on shows, I know how expensive it is, but we don't rape our venders and we don't charge a third of what they charge for spectator admissions plus our food is at decent costs like maybe about $7 for the Friday fish fry with all the fixin's and our corn on the cob is free.
  7. Life must be pretty boring in Redding.
  8. Got some clear paint and decals for my Heller Alpine and decals for a Howmet racer. Now I just need that Howmet racer!
  9. I've driven them and found them to be tinny. I was going to buy one but I chose the HHR Panel instead. Doesn't sound tinny when you shut the doors.
  10. I've never stored BMF in the fridge. I never had an issue with it and my sheets are from 10 to 5 years old.
  11. The rail car was made from scratch, the cars are kits and kits that were kit bashed and resin bodies. Also, G scale building kits are generally 1/24th scale so can be used for dioramas. The trains themselves are all over the place from 1/29 to 1/20 depending on type, manufacturer, and applications like narrow gauge.
  12. Being familiar with G scale trains, I would say that the Chevelles are indeed 1/25th scale and I certainly can tell that by looking at the man's hands as he points out things on the rail car. Rail cars are huge in 1/25th/G scale and 1/16th would be absolutely monstrous. The wind blade cars are HO (1/87). A modern style car transport train is even longer. I did notice he had to have addressed the bad tail light situation on the Chevelles.
  13. Moebius probably saw your opinions on customer service and figured to rectify it easier.
  14. I'm digging the scratched front bumper from pushing a car.
  15. Nice! Is that a lexus in the US?
  16. Very nice work. Any chance of you doing Fords for Brazilian market?
  17. That old JoHan kit is not quite right to be Boss Hogg's car
  18. Ding ding ding ding ding....Winner winner chicken dinner.
  19. That's awesome.
  20. Really nice. Who's the maker of the kit?
  21. I have old kits and some are worth a bit. I bought them to build though. The 68 Ambassador convertible kit I have will certainly be built up and my Renwal 66 Revivals will be built and possibly kitbashed with modern, more detailed underpinnings.
  22. Thank you. I really like BMWs, both four and two wheel machines. The guy just kinda soured me on them, but I got over it and still like BMWs, from Isettas to the early sports cars, the modern road cars and of course the motorcycles.
