The kits are great source material for other race car types. Fire bottles, seats, roll cages and even chassis will make the making of racers easy. SCCA type sports racers can use the seats and other bits, even chassis' . Lets say you want a weekend racer for track day at a sports car track. I think even things like the late model Mustangs would benefit from the kits right down to the chassis with a little modification.

I know Carpenteria. It's a small beach community north of Ventura. The non profit I worked for had a store on Linden street then. not a place where you worried about getting shot. Used to ride motorcycles on the bluff overlooking the beach. -

This is a vehicle that used to be a bus on the island of Malta. It was converted into a van by someone. Buses on Malta had this unusual look. http://www.philseed.com/images/malta-buses-pcard1.jpg -

This is the same guy who decides children sports should have no scoring. You better believe the kids know who is good and who isn't as much. There is a young boy in our club who has come with his father to the meetings since he could walk. He's at the age were he has attempted some builds, which are a mix of snap kits and glued ones. He has learned to handle a spray can to paind and has learned clean assembly habits. His paint jobs are pretty even but still a bit rough. He gets up and talks during our table talk session. He knows what makes a kit easy and what makes them a turkey. he always tries to learn stuff and each time he improves. He now wants to display in the themed classes in our NNL instead of being on the "kid's table". Kudos to him. -
Yes Nick, we can wax nostalgic all we want about 50cent issues of Hot Rod, but those days will never come back. Most mags today have adopted a style reminiscent of teen gossip mags, just small sound bites (print bites?) and some splashy graphics. Hot Rod Deluxe does a great job recalling the old Hot Rod and others from the 60s. I like Hot Rod Deluxe plus all the Hemming's publications and Collectable Automobile...those mags are written for adults.

I was approached to do art for a tee shirt company depicting cars. I was told to not put any of the trim bits in the drawing that called out the car's name or model. When asked, the owner said he got in trouble for selling shirts with unsecured licensing to use said trademarks. I countered with the fact that the design itself is a copyrighted property, I mean a 68 Corvette drawing still looks like a Vette, even if the name is not drawn on the car. I refused the work because I don't think the guy was reputable nor would I want to be named in a suit because my name would be on the drawings. I can do a singular drawing and not be in trouble, but making multiple prints of the drawing might cause me trouble. I don't think the car makers are going after artists like they were in the 80s and early 90s, but why push it.

They weren't meant to be street scorchers. Just dependable little trucks. I liked the look of them and the Isuzu P'UP it's based on

High Octane and I live in the same area of Wisconsin so we know temperature extremes. While his is controlled, mine is not, so the stash experiences big shifts in temperature. The garage has no heat nor cooling. I have had no trouble with any of the stash but I am slowly putting newer stuff into the garage and older stuff from the 60s and 70s into the apartment.

recommended site to order kynar wire?
lordairgtar replied to Fart Factory's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If you see a Radio Shack anywhere, most likely they will not know what you are looking for. Best buy your wire online or even search other wire suppliers for your purchase. Radio Shack has now become a glorified phone seller, and their employees know nothing about electronics anymore. RS has white as far as I know, but other colors are not available. Maybe google black 30awg wire for suppliers....or whatever color you like. I'm in the wire harness business, but we don't deal in that small gauge. I make my own cables for my DJ and sound business and order connectors and terminals through my employer. I had some 30awg lying around since wire was invented it seems in black, white and red. Let me check at work Monday for you and see what I might find available. -

Culvers is great. Lucky to live in Wisconsin. I guess there are a few in Texas. Culvers has great fries, not those rock hard tongue skewers you get at McDs. It is not a coincidence that White Castle is decorated in white porcelain. The initials are dead give away on the quality of the food there. WC=Water Closet=White Castle. @Cobraman...we have George Webb's for 1 AM food, still better than WC.

No way. Robin took it out with his pal Aquaboy and was texting Super Girl while driving. She texted back a selfie of her in the middle of a costume change and he lost it.
