  1. I see nothing wrong with the car. You did a great job building it. I love the tail lamp treatment.
  2. Nicely done
  3. Actually the Aussie two seater was based on Mazda mechanicals. The 323 was the basis for the car. True, the Escort was based on the 323 in those years and the Escort was known as Laser in Australia.
  4. If there was an option to select only car subjects, it would make it much easier for us gear heads.
  5. At Milwaukee NNL I bought 20 bux worth of raffle tix and wound up with AMT Double Dragster Kit in tin box. Revell Snapper lambo Diablo. (Lori commandeered that one.) Monogram 1993 TransAm. AMT Lil Red Truck Dodge. Lindberg 1953 Ford Pace car edition. Two Pinewood derby decal sets (meh) A Sharp pokey stabby thingy (X-acto)
  6. Looks are subjective. I mean the truly ugly is ugly to everyone. I find the Rainbow intriguing, whereas I find the Countach to be squashed looking.
  7. Also a convertible will be coming. Seen some built ups at NNL Milwaukee last night....and a convertible too. Saw a Fleetline with wood sides which should fit the coupe and later coming rag top.
  8. I think he wants to know if the convertible top was in the kit or from another source. Plus if it could fit onto the AMT Chevelle kit. By the way, really nice model you made.
  9. That is a very nice looking car, Mr Huang. You did an excellent job on it. Are model cars as a hobby very popular in your home country?
  10. Gee Sven, that is a really nice car you made. i have this as a built up I did years ago. Not as nice...LOL . I have always wanted to address the chassis issue as that torque tube style of driveshaft was not used since 1966. It's right for the Marlin, but not for the later Rebels, Matadors and Ambos
  11. Technically it is a cam in head, as it has rockers. Overhead cam engines usually do not have rocker arms. I know, it confuses me too.
  12. I'm thinking the Revell engine is generic. Didn't they intend for it to go in the Visible Chassis? I don't know if they are the same scale, but that is what someone told me. I think the chassis was designed from Buick prints.
  13. Can the AMT snapper body be used on the AMT glue kit?
  14. The difference between the EidaiGrip kit and the AirFix is that the EidaiGrip kit had an actual Mabuchi can motor and chrome, the AirFix has neither. The saving grace of the AirFix is the body is molded in white.
  15. Not a PT or HHR. It's a Dodge Magnum wagon.
  16. The kits are great source material for other race car types. Fire bottles, seats, roll cages and even chassis will make the making of racers easy. SCCA type sports racers can use the seats and other bits, even chassis' . Lets say you want a weekend racer for track day at a sports car track. I think even things like the late model Mustangs would benefit from the kits right down to the chassis with a little modification.
  17. I know Carpenteria. It's a small beach community north of Ventura. The non profit I worked for had a store on Linden street then. not a place where you worried about getting shot. Used to ride motorcycles on the bluff overlooking the beach.
  18. This is a vehicle that used to be a bus on the island of Malta. It was converted into a van by someone. Buses on Malta had this unusual look. http://www.philseed.com/images/malta-buses-pcard1.jpg
  19. I have a built AMX somewhere and a 48 Ford still inna box.
  20. Plenty of kits (KITTS?) around with engines in the AMT/MPC/Revell Trans Ams to cobble into the Aoshima kits
  21. Oh brother.
  22. This is the same guy who decides children sports should have no scoring. You better believe the kids know who is good and who isn't as much. There is a young boy in our club who has come with his father to the meetings since he could walk. He's at the age were he has attempted some builds, which are a mix of snap kits and glued ones. He has learned to handle a spray can to paind and has learned clean assembly habits. His paint jobs are pretty even but still a bit rough. He gets up and talks during our table talk session. He knows what makes a kit easy and what makes them a turkey. he always tries to learn stuff and each time he improves. He now wants to display in the themed classes in our NNL instead of being on the "kid's table". Kudos to him.
