  1. Aww man, I have the perfect vehicle for this (Monogram Ford F-350) that I wanted to rebuild, but of course I'm up at school!
  2. Ah yeah the chrome moldings, I forgot about those. I wondered why you didn't mask off to make the separation straight.
  3. Hey, looks excellent for using a paintbrush! My very very first kits I used a brush and they turned out like junk...course I was using Testors paint. Quick question: are you planning on putting some pin striping along where the black and red meet?
  4. I really think that a shade of tan would complement the gray nicely.
  5. Thanks for the compliments! If you want one, here's the site I purchased mine from. Model Roundup
  6. This is the AMT/Model King 1972 Chevy Blazer kit. Many years ago I built up a similar AMT kit, though that was a 1972 GMC Jimmy. I found this kit and decided it would be cool to do a "then and now" sort of deal. I tried to customize it as best I could, and am certainly satisfied with the results. It is painted International Harvester red (using actual tractor paint, so it's durable!) I used the brush guard and rear bumper from my 1984 GMC Truck model, the mirrors from the Dodge Ramcharger "Gone Fishin" set, as well as the spare tire carrier, and the roll bar is from the 198* Ford Bronco 2 n 1 kit. I was surprised at the amount of optional parts that came with the kit, including the aftermarket air cleaner, off-road shocks, tachometer, headers, and shorty exhaust pipes. I custom built a sub-box with amp, installed spark plug wires, and heater hoses as well as a CB radio with antenna, and "truck flaps" (bumper mounted mudflaps). Oh yeah, can't forget the hood scoop from the 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner kit! 3/4 view compared to old kit.
  7. They were built from 1990-1993, so anywhere during that time.
  8. That sucks, it's only an LS5. Oh well, 360hp is still quite an amount! Should turn out great!
  9. Could we get some bumper close ups, because I'm still certain they're on reverse from front to back.
  10. Like the idea of a modern rendition, I believe the guys at West Coast Customs did a version too. Oh, and you don't necessarily need to have the engine cover on.
  11. Here's the version being produced by Ford currently: Looks great!
  12. I have the lifted version, black with silver bottom. It had been sitting on the hobby store's shelf for a few years, so I finally bought it. Turns out the cowl and grille support pieces on the body were separated, but I just glued them and wrapped some tape around them, and then painted the body. Can hardly tell until you're right up next to it.
  13. (Yeah it's a 302, but close enough)
  14. It's a great kit and very detailed right out of the box, have fun building it!
  15. 404 Picture not found!
  16. Here's a built one that I found towards the back of the "Under Glass" section, in orange. Toyota Pickup
  17. To be honest, it looks like you have the bumpers switched around! The one on the rear doesn't stick out far enough, and the one on the front sticks out too far. Otherwise, awesome build!
  18. Hey, what model kit is that Ford Econoline? (Minus the solid-axle-swap and large tires)
  19. I'd say keep the blood on the wall. If anyone asks, just say "Let's just say someone didn't agree with my modeling ideas...whoops I've said too much, and now I can't let you leave!"
  20. Here's a great 1:1 version I saw at a car show last summer.
  21. Bit of an old thread, but I have a trick for tint. Black Sharpie. I found out that when you use it on the transparent plastic, it becomes a sort of transparent purple color up close (like some of the window tints), but from farther away it's black. Of course it would work better for smaller windows because you'll get the lines where there's more ink on the larger windows. I figured it does work great for tinted lights, you just put the color on the inside of the light (if not already colored) and put the black on the outside. You'll be able to see the light color up close but from further away it will look tinted. Oh yeah, you can also use the thin-tip black Sharpie for rear window defroster lines, just by laying straight lines with tape and drawing on the window.
  22. Car looks great! Now all you need to work on is your picture taking skills! Edit: just looked at your other thread, yeah those cell-phone cameras aren't the greatest.
  23. I actually found an older version of this model in a box of my uncle's old model kits. It was one of my first paint-and-glue kits, and it didn't have all the pieces, so it didn't go together very good. I recently purchased the complete kit, so I could put them side by side when done, and show off how far along I've come. It should be interesting!
  24. Looks awesome! Love the color and the stance!
