  1. I remember a Christmas morning back in 1982 when this combo was wrapped and sitting under the tree. I peeked a few days early and I just couldn't wait to get started on this. What a nice job you did on this! The red is so bright and the whole truck looks fantastic! I wish I could build this combo again! Thanks for sharing! Jeff
  2. This is a really cool build. Very nice model! Just looking at it brings a smile to my face! I loved the pilot show and this truck brought back those memories! Jeff
  3. This is one of the nicest Movin On projects I've seen. You did a fantastic job on the paint/decals! Jeff
  4. I was hooked on truck models about 1973 or 74. My Dad built an Ertl IH 4070a kit for me and he built the AMT Ford dump truck for my brother. I was about 7 at the time. I thought the 4070 COE was the coolest thing I ever saw and played with it on the carpet like a Tonka truck. I would dream of climbing up the little steps/ladder to get into the cab and sleeping in the bunk. I liked all the movable parts. My Mom bought me a trailer model at the grocery store back when you could buy them there. I built the AMT Wilson livestock to go behind the IH. It was a massive gluebomb with dabs of silver paint from using a hand brush to coat the exterior. It didn’t take long before the model broke making me sad. My Dad did a real nice job building it and I would like to have it today. He built it right out of the box with no paint but he was an accomplished builder at the time. I guess my first “truck” model would be the 1/43rd Peterbilt conventional from the TnT series. My brother had the KW COE and I liked his better but he wouldn’t switch with me. Now that I’m thinking about way back when, I remember getting models in the mail as a kid. It was some mail order model club that would send us an assortment of models from cars to ships. It was a real treat guessing what type of model would show up at our doorstep. That was a cool time…
  5. Good looking build! I can tell you put a lot of time in this build. It shows a lot of detail from end to end!
  6. Nice work Chris! You should post more of your builds here. Wish "The Gathering" was still going on at Ogden Union station, I'd like to see your trucks/tractors again!
  7. Wow, This is a fantastic replica! From the nose of the truck to the mudflaps, you captured all the details! Amazing!!!
  8. Nice looking truck! The paint work and colors are really nice. This AMT kit as well as the Autocar kits are the only ones I have never built. I am keeping my eyes/ears open for the build tips this board is sharing on these kits. Your's looks amazing!
  9. Looks good so far! Will you be making a pup trailer for this truck?
  10. "I've seen a few converted into a lounge type set up with chairs. " When I was driving with a trainer back in '09 we stopped at the Petro in Las Vegas to fuel up. My trainer pulled the truck forward after filling and quickly jumped out of the seat and told me to follow him. In doing so he didn't pull the air brake. Long story short, the truck went down an incline and slammed into a parked truck with a driver sleeping inside. After all the 5hours of arguing, statements and police were done the wrecker showed up and towed us (truck and trailer) to the Freightliner dealership. The wrecker was a T800 with a single bunk. The bunk had a bench seat. I'd like to see the inside of Western Distributor's Pete 379 wrecker (triple axle dbl-bunk stand up). I see it regularly up and down I-25, I-170 & 76 towing various trucks and buses. I've seen it as far south as Albuquerque.
  11. WOW! What a beautiful piece of art! This wicked little Pete is cool to look at (from all angles)! I wish this was a kit I could buy and display on MY shelf! AWESOME!! Jeff
  12. Sean, You make the exhaust look so easy to do! Of course we only see the finished product and not the time spent designing/measuring/assembling and routing. Looks really good! I like your choice of cabover, interesting to see it progress. Jeff
  13. WOW! This is such a nice looking build. You captured every detail from the real mixer...great eye for detail and accuracy! Jeff
  14. Sean, I believe the frame is from a Revell W900 kit. The mounts to the sleeper are already on the frame. Flip the rails over and the air bags will be open (as if they were saving on material) Jeff
  15. Beautiful work! I like that dumpster. This is great scratch building!
  16. Thanks for the comments guys! I had to paint the white stripe on the cab due to the decals going bad. I was very worried that I wouldn't be able to get to make this Coors combo. Thankfully another modeler told me a guy was offering them online. I was pretty happy with the paint on this one. I'll make an update here shortly! Jeff
  17. Slowly plugging away at this project. As pics show, it's the Coors KW and I'm using a Great Dane for the trailer. Decals were shot on both models so I got online and got some from Ebay. 2‌-hole budds for trailer from Class A resin. Moebius tires on tractor and home-made budds for drive wheels. Used an 8 air bag suspension from another kit. Using extra stacks and air cleaner cap from Revell KW. I think the stacks are too tall for a company rig, I may change them. Other than that just going box stock. I remember this combo as a kid when I used to visit my Dad when he lived in Colorado (I'm from Illinois). Nowhere to be seen anywhere now that I am an adult living in this state. One of my early influences on why I love trucks and COEs. Oh ya, I stretched the frame about an inch to make a west coast rig. Jeff
  18. This is a beautiful build! Both the tractor and trailer are really outstanding pieces of work! I enjoyed looking at them from front to back! Jeff
  19. Looking good...looking real GOOD. Always a joy to see the progress and paint schemes of your trucks. Thanks Ken!
  20. SUH-WEEET....! I call dibs on the blue Camaro! Beautiful setup with cars and semi. Really, really nice!! Jeff
  21. The green and the chrome is gorgeous! Sharp looking truck! The metallic green really stands out on a nice sunny day! Jeff
  22. Here's some of the Revell Pete's I built. This kit and Revell's KW K100 are my favorite kits to build. Jeff
  23. That's a nice looking truck and trailer (T600 and GD). The Volvo is really nice too! You have a good looking fleet!! Jeff
