  1. International offered one man cabs for years. They were designed for the steel industry, so that they could load long steel on either side of the cab. They had a hatch in the roof for entry/egress. They started with a standard cab and then narrowed it, and centered it on the chassis.
  2. Working on a conversion cab......
  3. Pinecrest has been gone for close to 15 years. They had a bunch of IH stuff.
  4. Passed 4 yesterday on I70. There are alot more of them on the roads in Canada.
  5. I assemble the crossmembers into one rail, and check each one with a machinists square. once they are dry, I'll glue the other rail on.
  6. And..... there were some non-I 9400s that had the I style hood, with the sloped headlights.....
  7. The 9300 became the 9900. The 9400 was one of the replacements for the Transtar 4300. The 9200 is a slightly shorter BBC than the 9400 was. All of the 9000 cabs are the same, and have roots back to the 4200/4300/Paystar cab from the 70's.
  8. The 9200I, 9900I, and the 9900Ix are still offered.
  9. Here is an update for this weekend..... First cab pour.
  10. The Transtar 4300 is going to be the easiest frame to use
  11. Yes, they share the same cab. It will require a different day cab, as the Lonestar has the panels directly in front of the doors (where the air cleaners mount) molded as part of the cab, while the Prostar does not have those panels. Yes, I will be doing one. At the moment, the 9400I is taking priority,, as i finally have a couple bugs worked out of the cab master.
  12. Nope. The cab is the same. The panels are just added in to allow for mounting the air cleaners. You can see how far back the firewall is in these pics.
  13. Yes, they do. The Lonestar, and Prostar are essentially the same truck from the firewall back. The basic cab shell is also shared with the 4000 (Workstar, Durastar), 7000, and even the new Terrastar. There is nothing shared between the Lonestar/Prostar cab and the "I" series cab.
  14. I can see a raised top ambulance in the future.......
  15. Yup, I do. Drop me a PM.
  16. Soon, soon..... Just taking a break from it because a couple of details are fighting me.
  17. Nope, just a diversion for a bit. Needed a break from the I cab. There were a couple thinks that were not quite "right" and they were fighting me, so, I put it away for a bit and started something else.
  18. Yup. UNDER a garbage truck. It was only a year old, so it wasn't that bad. Same yard where I measured the sleeper for you!
  19. So, after spending a couple of hours under/in a Mack MR garbage truck over the weekend, I was able to come up with the major frame dimensions, and about 150 pics for refrence. Here is the front frame crossmember/tow eye. This a bolt on component to the front of the frame on the 1:1! Here is the lower cab tilt cylinder mount. And, the interior. I'm using one of my "seconds" castings that is laying around.

  21. I don't know why I can't build anything small...... Tail light pods. I built one, and then cast the other. The lenses will get a chrome dress ring around them.
  22. Well, heres one of my builds. This is a Mack/Superior 100' mid-mount aerial. It is one of three identical trucks ordered by Toronto FD.
