  2. That bumper came with the old Revell 1:25 Peterbilt 359 kits. I think it's still left over on the sprues in different versions.
  3. I'm with you on that, though I think it wouldn't look too bad on a silver or white truck. In some ways it has the same effect to me as the big, shiny "horseshoe" grille on later-model Volkswagens- it sticks out like a sore thumb on a dark colored car, but it looks okay (or at least less distracting) on lighter colored cars. It blends in better. This isn't quite the same situation, but that's what keeps coming to mid for me.
  4. Have you ever been to a party, and there's a guy there who's really drunk and making a total ass of himself? You think it's amusing at first, but the more it goes on, the more it seems pathetic and you start feeling bad for the guy because the situation is so sad? That's kind of the way I see GM.
  5. Zeppelin- Ramble On
  6. AITM has a really nice Tulsa 50 ton winch, might be the way to go if I've got enough room between the cab and fifth wheel. http://www.aitruckmodels.com/pages/kt7tulsa50tonwinch.html
  7. I think it's a bargain even for a hundred bucks... think about it, you bring that to the next show and there won't be twelve other models just like it on the tables.
  8. I think they came from an MPC Chevy Cavalier. They're chrome, not clear. If I had to do it again (and I might) I'd go with some clear lenses and reflectors, but at the time they were all I had to use.
  9. ^Awesome.
  10. Nice! I started on an '80 about five years ago, if I ever get really ambitious I might even make up a Nissan turbodiesel for it.
  11. Guilty as charged...
  12. Thanks for the lead! I'm not sure if Dave would sell pieces from his kits individually either, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Guess I'll shoot him an email.
  13. Just wondering- did anyone ever do this style grille for the AMT kit?
  14. Now I'm kind of messing with the idea of pulling off the deck plate and putting a winch back there. Hmmmmm....
  15. VERY nice! The Diamond Reo is actually the best fitting of the AMT kits- the Road Boss is another story, though that one isn't quite the nightmare others make it out to be. I don't blame you for substituting the mirrors- that's one really sore spot with pretty much all the old AMT truck kits.
  16. This is a "grail" list- not necessarily a list of kits you'd like to see reissued. You can still want a particular kit even if there's no chance of it ever coming back.
  17. Stumbled across this while looking for some reference pics, and thought it was too cool not to share. http://bangshift.com/general-news/videos/awesome-video-a-1967-documentary-that-tells-the-tale-of-a-diamond-reo-dump-truck-that-conquered-the-african-safari-rally/
  18. Any of the Ertl IH kits that haven't been reissued are pretty high up on my "grail" list- including the 1466 farm tractor and the Off-Road and SSII versions of the Scout II kit. The F-2674 and Eagle 4300 Race Truck top the list of those. The original issue AMT GMC Astro 95 with the optional turbine engine. MPC Mack Rex Mixer Ertl Volvo N10 The early '60's Premiere Studebaker Champ and Corvair Rampside kits are right up there, too, but I'm not holding my breath until I find one, much less both. I wouldn't mind having a few from the AMT 1:43 scale "TNT" series, either.
  19. Main ingredient for a Michigan Special.
  20. Well... bit the bullet and started working on some new tanks. I'm expecting the kit fuel tanks to appear at any moment now.
  21. Or.... Aeromax 120 converted to a day cab?
