  1. I'm not wild about the subject myself, but if I could find one for five bucks, I'd jump on it even if I HATED the subject matter. Think about it, I could turn around and flip it to someone who does like the subject matter, and even if I sold it for 25% of its retail, I'd be making off like a bandit. But you do have a good point- it all boils down to the subject matter, perceived value, and of course how bad you wanna land one on your workbench.
  2. You HAVE to do an Edelbrock V8-60 to go along with it. Just sayin'.
  3. I don't think that would be a good idear. Derrick... if that's mini-you, you do bear a striking resemblence to Silent Bob. And I mean that as a compliment.
  4. I have a 1:1 '34 Ford pickup (well, what's left of one...) and I'm thinking of building it in a style similar to that model. Very nice!
  5. Know what's worse? Tappet covers! I wanna SEE my valvetrain in action. Now they've got those freakin' plastic shrouds over everything....
  6. North Dakota.... Minnesota... what's the difference, right?
  7. Sweet! You know, allegedly, a UFO did buzz (and damage) a police car in North Dakota in 1979...
  8. If I were in charge of a model company, they'd probably go belly-up within a few months, because I'd only produce kits of somewhat 'esoteric' subjects that only I (and maybe five or six other people, tops) would actually buy in any great quantity.
  9. I think the price is pretty well in line with what you are getting. Think about it- parts count, level of detail, sheer size... and let's drag out that 'typically Tamiya' quaility cliche one more time. In my experience, I've never once had a Tamiya kit fight me during the process. If anything, Pocher kits should require a bit of a discount, being as how you'll need to to a considerable amount of fitting and re-engeering just to build one OOB. And no, I've never build a Pocher myself, but after seeing countless online build chronicles, and seeing a handful of in-progress Pochers and speaking with the builders... don't expect Tamiya parts fit quailty from one of those.
  10. I wouldn't drive a Ram if I were given one (well, I might drive it all the way to the Ford dealer to use it as a trade-in on an F-150), so I'm not too worried about it. Then again, I doubt I'd buy an F-150 either... just like the Rams, the F-150s are no longer avaialable with manual transmissions. And good luck finding one with a bench seat and a rubber floor without having to special order it. Yeah, I guess I'm old school... If I wanted leather seats, satellite navigation and radio, a power moonroof, and all that happy horse-puckey, I'd buy a luxury car, not a pickup.
  11. Bit of sad news- lost a legend today... I'm sure many guitarists have had a connection with Marshall Amplifiers. Bonus points to whoever made this banner for the Spinal Tap reference.
  12. Seeing the engine seals the deal for me... I'll be getting a few just for that intake setup!
  13. The Modelhaus wheels don't look quite like those, but they would be appropriate for such a vehicle.
  14. Do want that Escort. And you just have to love the exclaimation points used after the molded color and tire material information.
  15. What that means... not very rare. Guess I'll go ahead and build mine, one of these days. Anyone know of a good tutorial on how to get an accurate finish on a mule?
  16. Nice! That kit's been on my wanted list for a while.
  17. This thread made me dig out one of the oddballs in my stash... anybody else ever seen one?
  18. Cool! I have that Minicraft Model A kit, but haven't done much to it other than glue the engine halves together. Like the way yours is shaping up. And as an IH truck fanatic, I like the idea of doing a big-scale KB5.
  19. I was expecting to see a buildup of the Monogram midget... pleasant suprise! Fantastic job on that one.
  20. The regular 300 kits are already out and about (my local shop will be getting them in in the next few weeks) but if the sales of the Flock Hornet were any indicator... get one of these Flock Chryslers, like, YESTERDAY!
  21. Awesome! I'm not the only one who doesn't 'get' it regarding that car.
  22. "Northern Michigan" is basically anything north of Harrison, until you hit the bridge... then you are in the UP. Which is the UP, not 'northern Michigan', as Tim pointed out.
  23. Please tell me you replicated the damage caused by Hamster and Clarkson's sabotage of the AC system.
