  1. That there is. Even the kit manufacturers list it as a fraction on their boxes for the most part.
  2. Very cool- I think this is the first time I've seen one built as a wagon with all of the custom parts from the kit (and then some!) used.
  3. Agreed. Even if the Charger had simply been a Magnum with a shorter roof, that would have been just fine.
  4. Well, my '10 GT is started. It won't be a GT, however, I'm planning a phantom 2010 Bullitt edition. So with that in mind, the first order of business was cutting out the stock grille (with its driving lamp openings and pony emblem insert) and filling in the spoiler holes on the decklid. Since there was no 1:1 2010 Bullitt, I'm going to take a few liberties here and there, but there is one thing you can count on... it will be Dark Highland Green, no exceptions!
  5. That I understand, but did they have to style it after a Ram pickup? And if it had to be a four-door, why not just keep the Intrepid name? That would have appeased the guys who hate it just because of the name, at least. I will say I don't care how many doors a Charger has, I just didn't like it because of its looks. The 2011s are starting to grow on me, but I'd still love to smack whoever approved the '06 design.
  6. The Charger never should have happened period. I still wonder what their target market for that car is supposed to be... people not blessed with the gift of sight?
  7. Thank you! Thought I remembered seeing them somewhere. Seems like when Revell tools a new kit and several sprues are on the smallish side (as seen in the 300), it's a pretty good indicator they're considering other versions. I won't lie and claim to be an expert on laying out tooling, but from where I sit a Ranchero would be very feasible working from the 300 tooling. Now all they need is for the 300 to sell well and know there's demand for a Ranchero kit.
  8. A bit unrelated, but a guy I used to work with had a '79 Regal with the aftermarket 6x9s just sitting on top of the rear window shelf (wired, but not actually mounted within the panel) and a hardware store slide latch to keep the driver's side door closed. Anybody want a free pair of Memphis 6x9 speakers?
  9. Right you are, but it might not fit as well now- the Dodge logo is no longer a Ram. Ram trucks still have the Ram logo (obviously), but they're not technically Dodge products anymore.
  10. Small car, small engine- that part make sense to me. I do agree with you on the looks though. I'd rather they just import the Alfa. The Alfa's styling doesn't make me taste puke in the back of my mouth like the Dart. Anybody else long for the days when Chrysler's kids could actually make a decent looking car?
  11. I don't know- I kind of like the contrast of the gold and raw cast iron look you have on your engine- I'd leave it as is. But that's just me. Besides- that engine is restored to new specs- who knows how long it might have taken the gold paint to start flaking off the gearbox?
  12. You're both 100% right, but consider that in the case of a 300 to Ranchero kit, you'd need a body, pretty much an entirely new interior (side panels, rear bulkhead, and floor at the very least) and possibly a different chassis. And a new rear window. In the case of the Mustangs and '57s they all shared identical interiors, chassis, glass pieces, etc. Revell theoretically could do a Ranchero, but they'd need to tool up quite a few more subject-specific pieces to pull it off than they did on those two kits. I'm kind of curious to see the actual kit contents on the 300 to see how the sprues are laid out- if the interior side panels are on a separate sprue from the dash, etc., that might be an indicator Revell is at least considering other variants on the tooling. (I think its a safe bet to assume they are, given Revell's recent track record.)
  13. No engine shots, but I do recall this being a four banger.... Yes, that's the rare (and much maligned) old Monogram kit, and no, I don't have any regrets about actually building it. I've got a Chevy II four banger I'm working on at the moment (made from a cut-down Trumpeter Nova six) when that one is done, you'll see it here first.
  14. I love it as well. One tip- keep in mind for future builds, foil the trim pieces molded to the glass on the windsheild and back window. It's a minor touch, but it does make a difference.
  15. Weight is the same. Mass? That's what gets ya.
  16. A mere sampling of many...
  17. The Jesse James bike may not be the most original, but the PJD bike just does not work for me, from a styling POV. Plain and simple. I'd rather stick with a tried-and-true design that actually looks good rather than one that tries to be groundbreaking but just looks terrible. The OCC bike is just a joke.
  18. A light wash with a slightly darker red helps, too.
  19. In high school a guy had a junked out Beretta with a killer stereo- basically the entire trunk was filled with 12" subs. Best part was the old gym sock stuffed in between the trunk's inner bracing and outer sheetmetal skin to prevent the decklid from buzzing. Said the system was about two grand- the car couldn't have been much more than $200 as scrap.
  20. Get with Dave (Cargostar). He should be able to fix you up.
