  1. Crusty old Goat! I digz it!
  2. I've noticed cars taking truck styling cues, too. Years ago, it was the other way around. Now Dodge cars have the cross-bar grille like the Ram pickups (well, Challenger excluded), Chevy cars have the truck-hand-me-down fat chrome bar with giant gold Bow Tie (except for the 'Vette and Camaro), and, well, Ford cars and trucks both have those ridiculous chrome grins(except the Mustang), but I'm not sure which line had that first. I mean, was there a consumer study somewhere that said people wanted to buy cars that looked like trucks?
  3. L-O-V-E I-T!!!!
  4. I kind of chuckled at the 'Trail Rated' thing, too, but it's not as awful as GM sticking that little chrome GM badge to the doors of everything it sells. For what? In case you think your Avalanche was build by Smart? Then again, Chrysler did the same thing in the '60's and '70's. (Then they wonder why there's no longer any such thing as 'brand identity', or whatever the marketing gurus are calling it these days.)
  5. Ah... surprised I was even THAT close to being right!
  6. Quite a bit I'm NOT interested in, but the stuff I WILL BE BUYINGoffsets that. If Revell reissues the Jeep J-10 this year, and when AMT finally brings out some of it's announced but still unavailable kits, I'll be very happy indeed!
  7. Sure wish I had a buddy that forgetful! "Hey, think I can borrow your Scout this weekend?" "Sure thing, Chuck!"
  8. Very nice!
  9. I'm still not seeing it, Dave...
  10. And, aren't these cars based on Mitsubishi architecture, and while the Mistu versions get heaped with praise, the Mopar versions get heaped with scorn? Or am I thinking of another platform?
  11. At one point I had a photo of an old C-cab in Roadway dress- I'll have to see if I can find it.
  12. Same here (add the Compass to that, as well), BUT... The original Jeepster wasn't much of a Jeep, was it? You wouldn't have seen Patton tooling around town in a bright red, wide-whitewalled Jeepster! Mabye a Patriot isn't a 'real' Jeep in some people's minds, but hey, it's pretty good for what it is, and manages to look pretty cool at the same time! Since practically nobody wants a 'Trail Rated' 4x4, I kind of think Jeep had to branch out a bit to keep its head above water. Now, about the Liberty... I really have to wonder how well separating the Dodge/Ram lines will work- didn't they try that with the Imperial? For a few years, Imperials weren't Chryslers, they were their own line above Chrysler, but everybody kept calling them ChryslerImperials, and the muddy 'brand identity' is what ended up killing it as its own division. Assuming the average consumer hasn't gotten any 'sharper' since then, I don't see the launch of Ram as its own separate brand being very successful.
  13. SOMETIMES it can be an issue, but on this particular kit, it isn't. In fact, adding a front or rear panel rarely prevents chassis installation, though as always, test first, as there's an exception to every such rule!
  14. Just got the new MCM, and the AMT Enterprize reissue!
  15. Check with Al Raab at Ma's Resin, he's willing to do custom photoetch pieces.
  16. It's arrived in Central Michigan... I'm sure if it's made it THIS far, pretty much anyone reading this post in the continental US either already has it, or will have it shortly.
  17. Wow- I've been seeing this kit pop up quite a bit lately! Maybe it's time for a reissue.
  18. Careful! You buy one, you WILL buy more...
  19. Oddly, there's plenty of room for me to sleep behind the seat on a C-cab (or H-series, by proxy). Even with two passengers, one guy could theoretically sleep on the seat, and one on the shelf behind the seat.
  20. Thanks Mark! It was AMT which did the Snap Kit, not Revell- the Revell Prowlers were glue-only. (That might be why you don't remember the Revell Snap Prowler. )
  21. The Lincoln broke my heart, and there's a Capri similar to the one pictured in my area, though the one I've seen is WAY rougher!
  22. Just wondering if anybody's ever built an H-Series model. Dean Milano did one years ago in SAE, but I've never seen another one. Please tell me he and I aren't the only guys who love those ungainly things!
