  1. I can see the day when Buick outlives its usefulness and gets 'Oldsmoblied' as well. One day, it will just be Chevrolet and Cadillac... unless they drop the 'brand' names altogether and just start slapping GM badges on them.
  2. Because Wal-Mart no longer carries model kits! (Rimshot...)
  3. The Cadillac Mirage (basically a coachbuilt El Camino style custom pickup) looks pretty cool- I've wanted to build one of those as a 'Cowboy Caddy' beater for years. Looks like I'm a step closer!
  4. Looks way better than mine, but then I only got as far as peeling off the shrink wrap and taking the sprues out of their bags on the one I had. Seeing yours, I just might have to revisit that kit...
  5. I tried that once. On the fourth day, when the blood in my eyeballs started clotting and I was weak from hunger, I finally gave up. Then again, I had dial-up at the time, so maybe it was hopeless to begin with!
  6. Kind of bummed to see the Chevy mill- I was kind of hoping for an old 2-cylinder JD motor!
  7. You should be pleased, it looks killer!
  8. Ill be watching this one.
  9. They're cool, but I think I'll stick with the golden oldies! So far, I only have one, an AMT '66 Lincoln Continental.
  10. The Bumper Chrome should work well- I've been using it for years. Sure,it doesn't even vaguely resemble chrome, but it can pass for aluminum.
  11. A giant Denver omlette canoe dropped it off, then.
  12. This is my old warhorse... '94 F-250 XLT 2WD with the 351 and AOD. Then I've got my gas miser, the "T-Racer" '98 Mercury Tracer LS And my beater truck for this winter (probably)... '89 Ranger 2WD, 2.3 5-speed. And these are just the ones that run...
  13. I tried something similar a few years back- cut down '41 Chev with a blown Chrysler. (And it's painted in Ford colors, too!) Can't wait to see how this one turns out.
  14. I think I do have a picture of an earlier junkyard find- a trunk full of severed deer parts. I e-mailed it to a squeamish buddy after I snapped it. But yeah, you don't want to see that.
  15. Great finish, and incredible detail. Another winner, John!
  16. I have two of those minibikes, and I have no idea what kit they're from, either!
  17. I think I need one of those!

    427 Cobra

Been a loooooooooong time since I've seen one of these!
  19. Just this week, while rummaging around in the trunk of a long abandoned old Cadillac ('60 model, I think, most of the ID features were cut or rusted off), I found a messy wad of toilet paper and what appeared to be a human turd. Guess somebody was out picking parts and couldn't make it back to the office... but that wouldn't explain the toilet paper...
  20. Here is my official "Never Gonna Finish This Thing Class of 2010"...
  21. I had some tracks from a Rommell's Rod kit, and a resin '41 Plymouth inline six, an engine which was used in quite a few farm and industrial applications. An overactive imagination and close proximity of said parts led to this... Basically, I just wanted to build an old crawler that looked like it had been sitting for fifty years. The basic tractor is done, but I'm thinking of adding a hitch and a plow to it later on.
  22. And let's not forget the original Pontiac Tempest!
  23. So, this must be why 'Michigan Specials' are so stubby, huh?
