  1. Next project will be an F-350 with the 9' bed... in fact, I've already started piddling around with it.
  2. Started foiling on the '69- needs some touch up here and there. I still need to foil the windshield trim. The cab and bed are now permanently joined with the chassis. And since the '71 dump truck has elbowed its way into the WIP thread... the engine bay is pretty much dialed in on that one.
  3. I have to ask if there's any way to get rid of the birthday list/events calendar on the right side of the page. Used to be you could just click a little "x" and it would be gone.
  4. I liked the 8-bolt wheels I bought last week so much, that the following week I decided to get the 8-bolt dually set (which will be converted to 6-bolt), the Chevy Rally wheels, and two sets of the 1:25 military tires. I also got some prewired distributors from MAD, but we'll discuss those some other time.
  5. Looks like the dump truck sidelined me. I had the idea of an old county or city DPW truck painted orange, but repainted green by a subsequent owner. As the years wore on, much of the green wore off, and here we are today...
  6. I started with the reissued AMT '53 F-100, and converted it to an F-250 by stretching the frame and constructing a new bed from Plastruct materials and modified kit parts. The 8-bolt wheels are from Scenes Unlimited, and are wrapped with tires from a mid '90's issue of the kit. Eventually I plan to toss some "junk" in the bed, but it's close enough to call done for now. Perfect? Nope. But it'll certainly do for me.
  7. This one should be in "Under Glass" sometime today...
  8. The business ends of the truck are pretty much done- now I just need to figure out what kind of bumper I want to use. This one's pretty close to finished!
  9. The current "Trucks" reissue is basically the custom version from the Thom Taylor set with the watercraft and trailer- it does include the stock grille and lenses, but other than that it's the same kit... ie, non-stock only.
  10. Well lookie here... now that I posted about it out in the open, I stay logged on.
  11. These pleased me for whatever reason-
  12. Other than the fact I have to log back in every time I visit (you could stay logged in until you shut down the computer on the old setup), I'm starting to get a feel for it.
  13. Salt for the majority- there's still some brushing and sanding to do to further the "distressed" look.
  14. Guys under the age of 60 wearing fedoras, and guys over the age of 12 wearing backwards baseball caps. So not a very irk-y day, all in all.
  15. And here's where the F-250 stands as of 10:24 PM EST this fine Tuesday evening. It has been grunged up a bit and hosed off with Tamiya Light Blue.
  16. MPB used to cast '68 Torino caps- the Modelhaus parts are very similar to them, if not the same. They might be a tad small in diameter... I'll let you be the judge...
  17. Oh... since the Mustang that coughed up it's air cleaner housing, valve covers, and wheels had optional Tasca Ford markings, I thought "Why not?"
  18. Couldn't be more pleased with the 2WD 8-bolt wheels I ordered.
  19. The Scenes Unlimited 8-bolt wheels are now painted and in place. Yep, that looks significantly more 3/4-tonnie than it did a few hours ago.
  20. Like every other kit I've ever built, it has it's hiccups. Every now and then you might get one with a bent hood. Good kit? Nope. I'd call it great despite that. Some people just aren't happy if they don't have anything to complain about, I guess.
  21. Looking good Blair! And, since it was mentioned, I've heard of plans for one of the casters to do a corrected grille for these. I'll not be involved, but when/if it happens you'd best believe I'll spread the word.
