  1. I found a photo of a KSP Taurus, the comments on it suggest it's a standard Taurus not an actual P.I. model. KSP Ford Taurus -Steve
  2. Well done Zoli !!! I'm going to have to pick one or two of those up. It will be interesting to see if Ford stays the Police Car sales champs once the CV's are gone now that Dodge and Chevy are back in it. The Carbon Motors E7 should be out next year too. I wonder how many dept's will spring for the twin turbo engine in the Taurus? Steve
  3. My bad Mark, your right of course. I'll blame my memory lapse on all the recent heat wave. I guess Revell and Round 2 would have an equal shot. Even if they don't share tooling they might be able to re-use the CAD drawings for what ever parts those cars share as part of the same LX platform which could save some money. Regardless, I'm sure not holding my breath until we get a 2011 or newer Charger.
  4. I'd chalk that one up to clever packaging then speedy production. I'm sure Revell had been working on it since the introduction of the fifth gen 2005 Mustang. I believe it was first shown to the public in early 2004. That gave them almost two years to bring us a "new" 2006 kit. Now if they had brought out a 2005 Mustang kit in late 2004 I would have been impressed !! Steve
  5. The days of the 1:1 Manufacturers providing early data are long gone, that died along with the annual promos. Between the licensing issues, overseas production and the complexity of todays modern kits. A year is considered lightning speed for a new kit. If I had to speculate, Round 2 is probably in the best position to give us a 2011 Charger as they already have two 4 dr LX platform models that they could update from either the Magnum or Chrysler 300 kits. Lindberg's status is unknown, I'd count them out for now. I'm not sure if Revell's Challenger shares enough with new Charger to make it work. Bob's right that our best bet is a new diecast piece, at least for now. Steve
  6. I can't believe I forgot about the 68 Hemi Dart considering I have one on the shelf above my computer desk. Isn't the Revell Charger Super Bee the Uptown kit? Steve
  7. I say Dodge has got plenty of Love over the last 5 years. There's 4 variations of the Lindberg - Testors Charger kits. RT, Daytona, Super Bee SRT and Police Package. Don't forget the Revell Uptown SRT Charger kit. Then there's the AMT Challenger RT and SRT Curbside kits with another 5 variations of the Promos. Also Revell's excellent full detail Challenger kit. Back to Lindberg with the Ramanator and Rammunition Dodge Monster trucks kits, both very well done. I'll try to forgive them for the Weirdo's versions. Not to mention re-issues of the L700 trucks and trailers, The A100 Pickup-LRW kit, 64 Dodge 330 and Super Stock versions and Dakota Pickup. Did I miss any ? Steve
  8. Three of my favorites, Bullitt. The French Connection and The Seven Ups all have one great thing in common. Actor, stunt coordinator, and stunt man Bill Hickman. The Seven Ups was his last acting role. Man could that guy drive !!! The French Connection and to Live and Die in LA have the same director as well. Ronin is right up there too and I like the chase scences in the recent Bourne Trilogy. It's been so lomg since I've seen the original Gone in 60 Seconds I ordered it from Netflix to watch it again this weekend. Steve
  9. Luckily I still happen to have the original photos Lindberg sent me to build some display models of the Raminator and Rammunition for them. I'll add them to my Raminator build up album for you. I'm going to have to set the album as protected so you won't be able to download or share them until I can verify it's OK to do so. You'll still be able to view them just fine. These should cover what need. Raminator model and reference photos -Steve
  10. Just posted on Spotlight, looks like Round 2 is seriously considering this. M&H Parts Pack from Round 2 I think it would be cool to get a set or two. I hope there's enough interest that they'll do this. -Steve
  11. I agree, that's much better the the original .... well done !!!
  12. Very nice work Tim ..... I can't wait to see it finished !!! -Steve
  13. That's just the fall supplement, all the prior anouncements are still coming as far as I know. Great list but I was hoping for an all new tool and or a hardtop verison of the 72 Cutlass. Maybe there will be something along those lines for 2012. -Steve
  14. Here's an old painters trick, take a sheet of plain paper and cut a hole in slightly bigger then the damaged area. You can use it as a mask and respray the area through the hole. I usually do this with an airbrush as it's easier but you can do it with a spray can too. If you use an airbrush you can then open the hole up slightly larger and make a second pass with some thinner and melt in the spot repair. Wait a few days and polish out your spot repair and it should look pretty good. Much better then just a brush touch up. Steve
  15. I wondered who would be the first guy to post pics of a finished Lindberg Police Charger kit. I was betting on either you or Tom S. Nice touch on the rear window bars and the partial rolled down side glass. Espcially since the frames are molded in. I've got several started but nothing worth posting. Steve
  16. You get three sets, steel wheels with separate chrome centers, the full wheel cover style which I think are on the Chrome tree and the leftover SRT8 wheels. The full wheel cover style should be stripped and painted alluminum to be accurate like in the photo below.
  17. Ken, The short answer is that the decals were rushed. Why..... the details of this three year on again, off again, on again project are enough to make your head spin around like Linda Blair's in the The Exorcist. Someday after the dust settles I'd like to share the story but even I did you probably wouldn't believe me. Frankly, I'm amazed that they ever got released, just don't ask how ... -Steve
  18. If your building a car with mouldings I would glue them on before paint using some masking tape as a guide. Of course you could do what I did when I built the Texas DPS Charger...... Cheat. Just swap the body with one of the Testors Charger kits that already have them molded on. Other then where the punch holes are located, the bodies are all identical. You can interchange parts between any of the Testors and Lindberg plastic kit Chargers at will. -Steve
  19. All the holes were left as "punch holes" in case the builder elects not to use those parts. Much easier then filling them IMHO. It probably should be spelled out in the instructions somewhere. All the Police Package Chargers I've seen were delivered with the inside door handles in place. They're probably disabled by a switch in the jam or have the rods disconnected. I would imagine it's pretty hard to use the inside handle when your belted in and in hand cuffs. I at least that's what I'm told. Steve
  20. Doesn't 7 X 1,200 = 8400 ? Regardless 8,400 kits is a still a good size run but when you break it down by individual kits versions 1,200 is pretty small. By comparison I believe the Lindberg - Model King Paul Goldsmith 64 Plymouth Stock Car run was 3,000 pieces. I can see a version or two becoming hard to find. -Steve
  21. The current versions of the LRW in the "Made in USA" box and the Coca Cola kit are both molded in white. The Coca Cola kit is identical except for the decals.
  22. It's also in Lindberg's recent reissue of the 1:27th? Tall-T with the other parts on that tree as shown in Chuck's photo below. -Steve
  23. I won't say never but I wouldn't bet on a another run any time soon even if they were all sold out tomorrow. The model kit biz is more complicated than you can image. -Steve
  24. That's partially right, there were plans all along to prepaint the kits but it had to be dropped in the end. Once the tooling was created for the lightbars it was clear there would be no praticle way to separate them for each kit so that was that. As for a reason to buy the generic kit now, well there's only 1200 of each version. So If you have no plans to build one of the specific agencies grab the generic kit and save the others for someone who wants one while they last. -Steve
  25. Your welcome Danno ! From what I understand, all the Testors Plastic and Diecast Chargers along with the Lindberg kits are all based off the same CAD drawings. Lindberg's Police Charger and the Testors Diecast Police car have similar parts, but the Lindberg kit gives you more of them. The steel wheel are more accurate and have separate plated caps. Some of the Diecast kit parts interchange while others don't, go figure. One the other hand, all of the Testors and Lindberg Charger Plastic kit parts will interchange as they're all part of the same tooling. Lindberg actually made the Testors plastic kits under the J. Lloyd name. -Steve
