  1. I'm not confused cause I know exactly what I'm doing here. Sounds like your confused.
  2. I'd just let the knife roll onto the floor.
  3. Actually, the MR2's on hold at the moment. I couldnt' resist the KS 911 any longer, and I've always wanted to do something outrageous to a Smart Car. Just got the body primered. I'm predicting that the doors will be easy to carbonize and maybe the rear clip as well. But I have a gut feeling the front clip will be a pain in the azz to carbonize. I.E., carbonize, to make into carbon-fiber! In this case, adding carbon-fiber decal.
  4. I'm going to go by the instructions as much as I can. I'll probably paint the calipers red, wheel-spokes gold like the one in the top photo. Since the chassis is red, I think it would be wrong to paint engine red as well. Other wise you wouldn't have anything really to look at.
  5. ..............it aint' finished yet buddy! But thank you! Tomarrow morning I'll start detailing the dashboard.
  6. It's pretty difficult I think to trim our plastic parts with the knif-edge facing away from us.
  7. Hey, that's a quote from Austin Power's Goldmember movie and well, it was funny in the movie anyway. My apologies
  8. Care to post a picture of the motor/trannie in your Smart? I'd appreciate that alot! The Civic SI you say? Which one, or are they all the same?
  9. Maybe I need to decorate the KS Countach like the famous police Countach? LOL! See how it's already flattened out and look's more leathery? At least with this model, I've got some great reference photo's! Still, wish I had pictures of the engine from underneath.
  10. Sprayed the interior, seats, dashboard, steering wheel, and gear shifter flat-red. Look's glossy when wet, but as it dries it will flatten and when all work done a coat of clear-dull will cover it. There will be very few accents in this interior. Look at the interior in the picture showen in the catalouge and you can see just how much red is on this Porsche! The last time I built this model, probably ten years ago it seems, it was white with blue trim and looked like it was done by a child! LOL! If the previous four have showen us anything, this one should be KILLER! Now take what I've painted so far, and picture it all together as one complete model!
  11. Dry-fitting the parts onto the chassis. I actually like this gun-metal much better than the traditional silver. It'll help brake it away from the engine parts. Now I gotta paint the engine flat-black. Why flat-black? Aren't they aluminum color, or did Porsche paint their's black? Wish I had a picture of the real car's engine.
  12. I, I meant to say thimble. Why thimble when it goes on your thumb? Thumble makes more sence to me,
  13. Oh come on guy's! I know you can top that one easily!
  14. Has anybody seen last nights new series on Discovery called Weaponizers? It's a group of guy's who converted some cars to Mad-Max style cars with machine-guns and rocket-launchers on it and are controlled by remote. These are real full-scale cars that they used in battle via remote-control useing a pretty cool gaming system. It would make for an interesting build-off but I think we've already got plenty to keep us buisy for a while. Anybody seen this show and what do you think of a future "Weaponizers" build off?
  15. Probably what I'll end up doing. But first I need to have the engine on hand to see if it'll physically fit before I do any cutting up. I also need to see how about making the connection between engine, drivetrain, axles, suspension, and wheels.
  16. If you didn't post it here, you could've posted it in under ROM! Nice! That is one bright paint job, I doubt any motorist will miss that one coming!
  17. They've also been put in the original Morris Mini Cooper's as well. I once owned a 1974 Honda Z Coupe and had thought about putting some sort of motorcycle engine in that thing. That was my first car and Dad bought one for me back when I was 14! Back when I was small and that car made me feel big! LOL!
  18. I was really never good with eye-balling measurements! 1mm was just an approximation. Unfortunetly, the bottom of it is hollow, so I may have to shave off the bottom of the seats themeselves. As for the engine, this is the space I have to work with. The chassis peice. The interior peice and the two together.
  19. These are the seats I'd like to use. But being thicker than stock's, they sit higher and stick out the roof some. So, I'll need to lower'em by shaving off a mm of the block that they rest on. Notice how even just the right set of seats alone can change the feel of the car?
  20. Well, I accidently picked up my light gun-metal spray instead of my silver leaf spray and painted my chassis parts. However, I think I like'em better this color anyway. This project may take longer to build as I work on my Smonda at the same time.
  21. Yes please, measure the engine for me that would be helpfull! I'll measure the back of this car as well. Sorry to start a new thread, but I wanted this seperate. A few questions. Does the engine have any mounts or driveshaft's with axles to it? I'm wondering how to mate the rear wheels to the new rear section with engine.
  22. Thank's for the tips on the wheels. But I'm going with these ones here as they have the right profile for this car. Both their width and tire-profile are perfect. Plus I like the style! Just as you had entered your post, I already started my thread. I can post here as well if you wish.
  23. These two pictures here, shows you where the car's engine is. If I am to do a motor-swap, there certainly isn't much room in here to do so. Plus, the way they want you to buld this, I dont' know if this project can be done the way we want it to turn out. It maybe a simple curbe-side model with the appearance of being a capable-drifter. I'll have to get the Honda Civic model and see if it's engine when built will even fit in this model. That will be the first step. Plus, I'm not sure about hacking off the rear section and grafting on a new motor mount system with rear suspension!
  24. Okay, I'm entering the drift build off with an unusual entree. I'm building Revells 1/24 scale Smart Car. I've always loved these tiny little pocket-cars ever since they first came out. How the heck can something so tiny with very little horse power drift you ask? Well, somebody in England, I think it was England, took a Suzuki GSXR engine which has approxiatly 160 HP which can be tuned up to 190 and they stuffed it in the back of a Smart Car. The results? A mind blowing super fast pocket ROCKET that can blow doors off unsuspecting victims! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! I had received a Honda motorcycle kit in 1/24 scale that I had PLANNED on useing for the engine but realized that it's less power than the Smart's original engine, so that aint' going to work. I'm considering getting a Revell Honda Civic tuner kit and useing it's engine instead. I've actually found the companie's website. http://www.smartuki.com/ This company is now offering kit's and ready-to-run Smartuki's. Their even announcing the possiblities of coming to the USA! Here is a picture of the kit I'll be useing. Here is the car with the wheels I plan on useing as the stock ones are tiny little donut's. The goal for this project, is to give the viewer MY twist on the fun little machine. I may or may not use an engine in here, I dont' know yet. But the goal is to paint the black area's white, and lay down SMS's CF decal's on the gray body panels.
  25. LOL! I hadn't noticed that between the engines. De-tuning would certainly not allow for drifting now would it? Oops! Well, I guess I'll have to buy a Revell Honda Civic model and use it's engine in this project, or just simply make it curb-side with a custom exaust system to give it the proper look. I'm thinking of giving the body some contrast by painting most of it white, and only CF-ing the accent-body panels that being the front and rear clips, and the doors, oh and roof as well! I will see if I can get myselfe the Fujimi tuning-accessories kit for some sport seats and put some Recaro's in here, maybe a raceing steering wheel too? Since curb-side building is allowed here, maybe just give it the appearance of a drifter. Although, I'd still like to test my scratch-building lackoh'skills and it would be cool to actually have a Honda V-tech engine in here? When I start building, I'll start my own thread on the workbench so I won't clog up this thread here.
