  1. Thank's for shareing guy's. But the point of my thread was to PREVENT minor cut's with the knife by simply putting the bandade on your thumb BEFORE you start building. However, what's the point when I dont' even follow my own rules? How many of us really think about these thing's when we get excited about a kit, start opening up the package, and begin cutting the parts of the sprue? I guess it's like sew'ers, meaning people who sew thread, putting that thumb-guard on their thumb's first. What do they call it? A thumble?
  2. What's the fun of having blood all over your model?
  3. Those rim's are cool, but not exactly my style. Plus, I dont' think they'd go well with a carbon-clad body. The wheel well's on the Smart model are very small and I dont' know if I can stuff aftermarket wheels on it. Actually, I'm thinking of useing the wheels I had intended for the Veilside MR2. They are perfect width, and have the right sized profile-tire to suit the Smart. Tomarrow I plan on going to the LHS and picking up several sheets of SMS's CF decal for the body. The fenders do cover up most of the wheels.
  4. Well, anybody have any ideas to my question regarding swirel-effects?
  5. Thank's guys! I'd thought I would finish assembling the chassis before clear-coating it. But I will use the dull-coat. Just hope I dont' get my clear's mixed up and dull the body and gloss the chassis! LOL!
  6. Are you sure it's not the other way around?
  7. Can't see the other side, but if they are brake-vents, could be just for the fronts? Then again, maybe it's just a simple crack. It is possible for the real car to have a crack there as well.
  8. I retract my statement. The more I look at theme, the more I realize I think your right Kuztoms. They are from a 944, but not sure which model. I think they did this because of the new body work that some how, maybe the original tail-lights got lost in this new design? Who knows why Koenig went from 911 tail-lights to 944 tail lights. But your right, their definetly 944's.
  9. Thank you. As the paint dries, the red does loos it's high-gloss wet look. But that will be taken care of when I clear coat it with Model Masters Lacqure clear-gloss. Question, while the instructions calls for the chassis to be body-colored, which I've done, does the chassis get a clear-coat as well? Or should I not bother clear-coating the chassis?
  10. Okay, painted the body this morning. And so far, so good! I need to make myselfe a rigid stand for painting to keep the body off the cardboard. Not so much an issue when the car's lower skirts are rounded, but is a problem when their flat and the paint builds up on those corners. Still, a stand would be a good idea. Will have to wait for this to dry for a good day or two. Seems to me the Tamiya paints dry faster than Model Masters.
  11. Look's mean in black. But if your handy with an airbrush, it needs flames! I've always been curious as to how people chop their roofs on these models. I've had several "future-projects" that I'd like to chop but have no idea how to blend the chopped part to the rest of the car and make it look natural! Is there a how-to article somewhere in the forum for chopping? Also, what is meant by sectioning?
  12. You know, a hearse must be a very popular car. Everybodies dying to get in one! Ever heard of a hearse donut? That's when a hearse is turned into a police car!
  13. Since we're on the topic of BMF foil, how would you go about getting this look? I've always loved the way this look's when light hit's it. I'm wondering if there's anyway to acheive that on BFM. It would be awesome if the BMF company could provide this look for us.
  14. Are you sure that crack on the wheel isn't some kind of vent for maybe cooling the brakes? Just a thought!
  15. Wow that is beautiful! I can't wait to see the rest of this! Very, very realistic. When you say you "turned" it, do you mean machined on a lathe?
  16. Maybe a futuristic concept car? Kind of Audi TT'ish but from the distant future?
  17. It still sting's where I stabbed it last night.
  18. No need to show us your middle finger, Hope you at least had a cute nurse!
  19. In that case, I dont' think a bandade would've helped you much!
  20. Hmmmm, 13 views and 0 replies. Oh come on people! Like you've never stabbed yourselfe with the knife before while building models!
  21. After I white-primered the chassis/body earlier today, I just got done test-painting the chassis. I figured I'd rather goof-up the chassis, then the body. Anyway, successful paintwork with just applying the Guards Red directly on the primer. I will let this dry till tomarrow and see how it continues to look, then proceed with the body. The Guards Red is a slightly darker red than the Italian Red and should make this car look freaking sweet! I'll have to come back later with the masking tape and paint the engine silver with black trim. Also primed these with the black primer and will go over these with the same silver as the engine. Sounds like it should be a colorfull chassis!
  22. I'm not sure which wheels to put on it yet, but I did notice that they were kind enough to use the same axle treatment that Fujimi did so adding some wheels should be easy. I may have to do some clever fender modifications to make the custom wheels fit. The stockers are very skinny almost bicycle like! LOL!
  23. I thought that the snorkal laid more flat on the roof than being at this odd angle.
  24. I have no idea. but they could have used it to go along with the new body work. So, it's possible! But, I wouldnt' know.
  25. Got my Smart Car and Honda motorcycle in the mail today! The motorcycle engine is not quite what I had in mind, so this may wind up being a curbside model. However, I think with a carbon-fiber clad body, some sponsorship decals, and maybe some wheels, it'll have the same effect. I might scratch-build the muffler and exaust to give it the proper appearance. We'll see!
