WOW! I would try another sheet. None of mine have ever had a wrinkle on it. I suspect this is your first time with BMF and if it is, you need to be patient with it. This stuff is very, very thin and while that might make it hard to work with, at the same time, it's what makes it special and able to go over just about everything. Remember, this is REAL metal, but made very thin to be useable on our projects. I would try this wrinkled sheet on spare plastic and see if you can't smooth out those wrinkles. I usually use a tooth-pick and carefully smooth it out flat. As for being sticky, maybe spray the surface with some kind of spray-glue like artists use? Then stick the BMF ontop of that to get it to stick? Once it sticks, it should be alot easier to work with. Much like the SMS CF decals, this stuff does take alot of practice to get right. Please post pic's of your practicing so we may help you out later on. By the way, dont' use the very tip of the tooth-pick as that will cut/rip the foil. Use the softer sides.

Problem with looking like wet paint, is how can you tell it's dry without touching it and getting finger prints all over it?

I'm good with pun's and better when on the spot circumstances apply. I suck at story-telling jokes. When my brother get's tired of my pun's, he sais, "It's not punny anymore."

If you want "drifting" decals, I suggest getting SMS's sponsorship decals which come on their "tuner" series decals. I've usually placed these on the front section of the doors, but not sure where you'd put theme on the Enzo. You might want to cut each sponser off individually, "as their in one row together", and past theme where you want. While I absolutelty positivly hate the Enzo, some strange reason, I absolutelty love it in white. Strange effect I know, but it's true. I'd do white with CF decals in some choice areas, and the sponsorship decals spread out around the car. Maybe build it "modify it" as if some of the body parts, side-skirts for example have broken off from drifting and are just hanging in place?

If a cemetary is next to a bank, does that make it your final deposit? When visiting relatives in Germany about a year ago, we visited such a place where there was bank right next to a cemetary. The final deposit joke just came out of no-where. Yes, I am bored if you can't tell by now.............

If that Enzo of his is 1/24, and I bet it is, Scale Motor Sports should already have CF templates for that particular car. Although while it may look cool, I dont' think I've ever seen anybody drift a full CF Enzo before. Maybe a normal Enzo has been seen drifting, but I doubt a full-monty CF Enzo has done it. As for making it look like a drifter, not sure as I've really never seen an Enzo done-up like one. I think it's just drifted as is bone-stock. All you need to do is provide a picture of the real car drifting and you should be in for the build-off!

Any updates? I'm anxious to see this one come through!

Okay, we all know we're tallented. We've all seen eachothers models and mad-skills. But how funny do you think you are? Here is where you can tell your best jokes. Use incorrect spelling for pun's! Here are the RULES! No racist jokes allowed, period! No jokes against harming/killing of animals. No jokes against other people's backgrounds, religions, et'c. No demeaning jokes against women. "You know what I mean!" "There are two kinds of people I can't stand. Those that are intolerable against other peoples cultures, and the Dutch!" Nygile Powers on GoldMember. Q:What do you call a cow that just gave birth?

Hmmmm, the Mini Cooper look's more black than the other car. Maybe the second coat on the Mini made it darker? Nice and smooth paint job though! I think it's tougher getting it so smooth on the smaller models. But remember, the color maybe a tad different on the larger model!

AFTER OPEN HEART SURGERY
FujimiLover replied to lilsquirt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was boren with a heart deffect and have had three surgeries in my life so far. First when I was a an infant and Dr's didn't know squat. Second was around my 20'th or 21'st birthday cant' remember exactly when. Then my third was four-five years ago. When I was boren with the defect, Dr's told my parrents I'd be sick alot and blah, blah, blah. I never missed a day of school as I never gotten sick. I can't even remember my last cold! Now I'm ton's better and feel fantastic. I walk the dog four miles a day and doing great. I do know how you feel about being ran over by a truck. I hated the surgery and staying in the hospital for what seemed like a month. My mom bought me a PSP and that helped some. I was getting home sick and missing my cat! LOL! None of my parrents smoked, nor did ANYBODY in my family so I never grew up around it. I never understood the "thrill" of smokeing and dont' know why people do it. My only bad-habbit is drinking coca-cola and probably spending money on Koenig Specials model cars! Hope you get better and better buddy! Keeping buisy and having pets really help! -

MCM May/June showed up today!
FujimiLover replied to RodBurNeR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Oh I know that. It does have great tips and how-to's that can help you with your own special cars. It's like any tv show that we like. Some shows have great episodes, and other episodes suck! But overall, great stuff! If you want your mag that bad, go to your LHS and pick one up, and when you finally receive yours, give the spare to a friend! -

Wow. So if I ordered the subscription I technically "SHOULD" have it instantly! LOL! Not sure I want to though, I picked up the last two issues and found'em some what dull. Interesting reads, but they didn't feature cars of my likeing. Oh well, still a cool magazine.............. I was impressed with the build of the carbon-clad Ferrari FXX, that was awesome! -
Well, it's not up to us, it's up to diymirage.

What's on your playlist?
FujimiLover replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
DJ Ray is humming in my mind for some reason. I remembered there were two brothers and one did most of the announcements and I think he was latino, but not sure. He always said, "My brother from the same mother" or something like that! Back to playlists................... -
Hey, May's not even over yet! You still have all summer long! I'll probably spend every living minute I have on this project as it'll be the first of many skills for me!

Wally World? You mean Walmart? I checked my local HighTower Collectible store, and he said he could order a display case that can house 7 1/24 scale model cars all together, but they cost around 200 dollars. He didn't give me exact dimensions or exact cost so I didn't go with that. He suggested going to Hobby Lobby next which I haven't done so yet. I'm picturing something with maybe 3-4 foot square by 4-5 feet size shape with maybe 1 foot highth type of display case. Something that could go ontop of our coffee table. Whenever I've completed model cars, weather it was my RC-Mini-Z's, or these Koenig's, I like displaying theme ontop of the coffee table while watching tv. But might not be the brightest thing to do with a 2 year old Irish Setter running around. So, that's why I'd like a display case for'em. I'm trying to picture one of those nice large ones they have for big model airplanes.

Well, I'm planning on CF'ing my Smonda. It'll be my first attempt at doing a full-monty carbon-fiber body. It should look pretty trick!

Let's aim for Thanksgiving day then. That sounds like a good end-point and then we'll all hopefully have something to be thankful for!

What's on your playlist?
FujimiLover replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yea I know. A while back I was visiting Orlando and tried to listen to 102 Jamz and it was no where near what I remembered back in 93-96. I think those were the years I was in high-school. LOL! Hard to remember exact dates now! I think I may still have a tape or two that I recorded from theme a while ago. But there was a lot of awesome recordings I wish I had kept. I was refering to their so-called "Thunderstorm" which is what they called their live-broadcasted dance-mixes with the old classic rap music that actually had rythem to dance to and probably more meaning back then than today's junk. Now their so-called "Thunderstorm" sucks like rotten egg's! I dont' think the same DJ's are there anymore and without the proper DJ's and the proper music, it just ain't the same. I can't recall the names of the DJ's I listened to, but if I can find the tape and listen to it, I'm sure I'll hear their names and can post'em. -
What's on your playlist?
FujimiLover replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Nope, never heard of it. Now that I live in Colorado, there used to be a radio station that did similar stuff to dance music, but I haven't been able to find it in several years now. Now I dont' know of any radio station in Denver/Colorado Springs that plays this type of music. I only listen to 98.1 KKFM classic rock. I love Bob and Tom in the morning! -
I agree, I'm loveing the Tamiya spray's. But sometimes they just dont' have the color your looking for for some projects.
