  1. Nope, wasn't thinking of the old Cola at all. Just soda with the Phosphoric Acid in general.
  2. I would love to see all those black areas done in SMS carbon-fiber! That would be killer!
  3. I think GM stand's for Gone-Mental!
  4. When I put this under glass, do you want it by itselfe, or with the other three king's?
  5. KS Diablo nearly complete! I decided I didn't want to fight with the door hinges, so I removed'em and glued the doors in place. I was able to glue the drivers side door flush with the body. I added the windshield wipper, KS logo on window, and exaust pipes. I'm now just waiting for the paint on the tail-lights to dry and as soon as I mount those on, it'll be ready to go under glass. See? No gap! Waiting for tail-lights to dry.
  6. I've never been all that competative anyway. Still, would be nice to win a model contast on something you've spent so much time and effort on. I'm also curious about those headlight, tail-lamps. I was thinking for the headlights you could use the ones off a 32 Ford Roadster mounted on those fenders?
  7. Wow! Sounds like your living in "The Day After Tomarrow" Those are big hail-balls! Most we get are little tiny ball bearings. Hope your Mustang wasn't hurt to bad and the insureance will pay for it. They usually will cover hail-damage. One thing I'm worried about with my aluminum-bodied Honda Insight!
  8. Thank's guy's. As I build more and more models, I learn tricks from each one. I generally spray-paint all the parts while on the sprue, and then clean-up, touch-up after I take each part I require for the build. I'm thinking of useing the four corners of a sprue from a small scale kit to help build my engine mount for my Smartuki, or Smonda as it maybe. But the thickness of the sprue has to be right for the size of the model I'm working on. I think useing 1/24 scale sprue might be too thick for my Smartuki's engine cage. I've also noticed some people use the clear sprues as headlight lenses? Anyway, we dont' have to stick on the sprue thing in here. As the title sais, just rambling on for fun of it! Clever trick of useing the sprue as custom hangers for painting! I'll have to try that on next project. I hate excess molding's on parts and sometimes they can be an itch to clean off properly especially on those tiny parts.
  9. I've looked at that myselfe and I can't really tell. It could be just the way the front windshield is mounted into place that it appears warped. I think it look's good enough I'm not going to risk it by heating it up. Heat might damage the finish I've got on it already. I'll attempt the doors again later today. I would eventually like to build another one of these kit's and modify it to look like this one here.
  10. Wow, 1'st place. I've never wone anything. I might take some of my KS models to our local model contest and see what happens. I love that blue, it's a blue I might do on one of my KS cars. What blue is that again and how did you acheive such a glass-smooth super glossy finish? I am totally amazed at how detailed and well put together this is considering it's mostly scratch-built. I'm amazed at how smoothly you were able to shorten the cab and make it look like it was originally this way! It look's so good, it look's like it was a ready-to-make kit! I'm curious as to how your going to scratch-build the lenses, that must be hard to do! Are they going to be clear, or just painted to look like lenses?
  11. I haven't even bolted the doors onto the hinges yet. But following the instructions, I adjusted the hinges according to how they wanted it. I dont' think it's a hing-problem since the door doesn't even fit properly when just resting against the car.
  12. I think for my Diablo's drivers door, I might have to CA glue the top of it and force it into place with the CA insta-set spray. Hopefully, I won't mess anything up when I do that Will give it more thought tonight and tomarrow.
  13. And here's a picture of the real thing. My previous Spider was built like this, but didn't turn out anywhere near as nice as my white KS 500 SL did. I might try this same look again, or I might replicate my red Coupe, just in topless form. The 911, will look identical to this one here, useing Model Master's Guards Red.
  14. Thank you. All four "king's" will get together for a groupe photo when the Diablo is finished. I may just save my selfe the headaches tomarrow and glue'em doors shut. I plan on leaving the drivers side window out as if it was rolled down and out of sight. I'm hoping when I do my KS Countach, it won't be as difficult, although I suspect being alot more parts, and much more detailed, it will probably be the most frusterating kit yet. Still not even sure I want to attempt that one! When the Diablo is finished, I still have three more KS kit's to build. My 911, Competition Spider, and the detailed Countach! I think my next project will be my wide-bodied MR2.
  15. Chassis, I've yet to put in the exaust pipes Showing you the mis-lined door. The perfect door, although not bolted to the hinge yet. Another frusterating task. See the gap? Sorry for all the pictures, and no it's not ready to be under "glass" yet. I'm trying to get all these angles to see if I can find where it's not lined up properly. Is it possible Fujimi screwed up with this door? You can also see by the gap in the front fenders that one side is higher than the other and that might have something to do with it as well. I've checked, double checked my screw work and haven't yet found anything wrong. A little side note, I've always have had trouble with screws and that might be the case here, I dont' know yet. But I think it's quitting time for today before I really snafu!
  16. Thank you. It's almost finished but the doors are giving me hell, and something about the interior together with the chassis that's not lineing up properly with the body. It's been giving me a headache and it's time to quit for the day. I'm tempted to just glue the doors together, but at the same time, the drivers side door does not seem to close all the way and I don't know if it's something I did wrong, or if they made a mistake when molding the door. When I rest the doors in place, the passanger side is perfect, but the drivers side has a big gap. I wonder if they intend the doors to remain open and to never close. Also, for all the detail they put into the engine comparment, "not that there's much," they make it nearly impossible to open it once all is together! Anyway, here are some pictures for you. OH yea, and while handling all this, I accidently rubbed off the O.Z. decals on one side of the car.
  17. Doesn't the Smart count as European?
  18. Thank's, I might be trading some kit's for a Honda motorcycle and a Smart Car all in 1/24th scale. It will be same basic idea as the Smartuki, but with my own twists. I think it would be freaking awesome to do a full-monty carbon-fiber Smart Car. Why not? Wouldn't less weight make more use of the motorcycles horsepower thus being more driftable? Plus, how cool would it look?
  19. Hmmmm, those seats almost look like my Diablo's! Except yours has a larger head rest than mine. Oh yea, and mines got breather holes. But still, very, very similar and same color combo! The Mirua is a beautiful car for it's time.
  20. LOL! I was trying to ask diymirage the question. Rules are no fun when the imagination get's in the way!
  21. WOW! I wish I could scratch-build modify like that! That is impressive work there my friend. Beautiful color and I bet it'll be a hot ride when all complete! The Porsche dashboard suits it very well as it reminds me of some of the older classic dashboards from older trucks. Not sure which makes/models, but has similar styling.
  22. Does the model have to be an exact match to what your representing? I'm trying to find the right kit's for my Smartuki, but it might become more like a Smonda, that being a Honda motorcycle powered Smart Car. I'm also considering doing a full monty carbon-fiber body to it instead of the white one I posted elsewhere. It might not be like the one in photo, but same idea?
  23. Geepers, when I first read the title, I thought we were talking about armageddan! Tha apocolypse! The rapture, whatever! Anybody seen the new series on the History Channel? Life After People?
  24. I suck at soldering so I dont' want to go there. LOL!
  25. Done a little more body work, and clear-coated it. I decided this time to clear coat the body, THEN paint in the semi-gloss black trim. Weired reflections here, but trust me, look's killer in person! Italian style liscence plate!
