Hello there. Well, it is time for another Koenig model! I've already done the Ferrari Competition, Mercedes 500 SL, and now just finished the Porsche 928. So, it is time to do the fourth make, the Lamborghini Diablo by Koenig Specials. This kit is a very interesting kit indeed. Except for being all plastic, it will remind you of building those quick die-cast model kit's that you bolt together. This kit has alot of color-molded parts and alot of screws. It also has several stickers as well. So if your lazy, you could build it quickly, but give it time with paint, and it'll look awesome! Enjoy! Nice plated-looking parts!

Hello there. Well, she is finished! This was a fun quick build, very simple kit to do. Only time needed was to allow paint to dry, and we all know how much fun that is to watch! I appreciate MR. Mike for selling me his kit and I hope he enjoy's what it has become! This is one of my favorite KS models and my favorite tuned 928's! Enjoy!

Found two pictures of a real one in silver. Unfortunetly, does not show the top of the rear wing. Look's like he only has the stock mirrors though, shame he didn't complete it with the KS mirrors as their much more aerodynamic and cooler cooling.

Problems with Itunes
FujimiLover replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Geeee, thank's that's alot of help! I dont' have an 8 track! -
I wonder if the pop-up's would be possible on the 928. Not my current KS one, but maybe future one? As I said before, it's got the most interesting pop-up's and would be very cool to see operate on a model. The Strosek 928 that I'd like to do some day, however does not have pop-up's.

I wonder if the real car has those for some reason, or if it's just a fluke in the modelling.

Yesterday when I was working on my 928, I wanted to listen to my music on my computer. So, I turned on Itunes, and my computer started "clicking". This "clicking" is the sound of the hard drive trying to read a broken file. Last time this happened, my Dad suggested defragmenting the hard drive, which I did and it solved the problem. This time, I tried defragmenting, and it didn't work. The computer wanted to check it's hard drive, so I tried that, nothing. It seems whenever I try and do something with Itunes, the computer crashes. Now, the Itunes short-cut on my desktop disapeared! I've tried to remove the software on the computer, and it wouldn't let me, same problem. I tried to "fix" it useing your software install/remove program and same thing! I even went on line to download the latest version, 8.1. Download was successful, but when I tried to load the program, it automatically went to that install/remove fix/remove option and wouldnt' do the job. I do know that my anti-blah, blah, blah software is a few day's out of date due to the fact that it's subscription has run out. Unfortunetly, my Dad is out of town and can't help me purchase the update's. So, I'm wondering is it possible I have a virus that's effected Itunes? Everything else seems to be working just fine! Any suggestions to fixing my Itunes? I'm not about to plug-in my Ipod and ruin it as well and possibly lose all my music, photo's, and movies. I've got over 80 GB's worth of stuff!

Your right about the sink holes, unfortunetly, their on top. I probably should've smoothed'em over with some putty before painting, but I didn't. Last night I did the window trim, and this morning I clear-coated it! This time, the clear coat didn't seem to effect the trim work. Maybe I didn't spray as close this time? Who knows!

Thank's for the tips on the tires, might do that later on. For the gold, I simply painted clear yellow ontop of the stock surface. That was a trick I learned a long time ago from Fujimi's instructions for building their Koenig Competition Testarossa. They told you to use clear yellow on the rims. I would've never thought it would work, but when I did it I was amazed at how much better they looked than actually painting theme with gold paint. So use clear yellow. If you want more specific's, I use Tamiya's color number X-24 for the clear yellow. I'm wondering if I want to do the same thing on the all red 911, or give it matching red wheels. Wheels on the 911 are same BBS style as on this 928. While I've always loved the combination of gold on red, I've already got three cars with gold wheels on'em. Some updates. I've added the decals, Beleive it or not, there are gold badges here, but the gold is hardly noticable against this metallic color. So, not even sure why I bothered with these decals. Mirror is finished, will need clear-coating later. It get's glued onto the side window peice once the windshield is in place. I've back-chromed the lenses ....................and finally painted both sides of the rear wing. I'm not sure what to do next. I dont' know if I want to paint the black trim first like I've done before, or clear-coat it next. Reason for uncertainty is before when I've clear-coated afterwards, the black trim had faded in some spot's. I'd have to go back and touch it up. Reason I prefer to clear-coat afterwards is to seal it all in.................................

Reminds me of the classic Batmobile for some reason! You know, the original one from the tv series?
-
The number on the box is 12403, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the part number your asking for. Good luck finding one! It's a very nice and simple kit with the exception of the instrument dial's! I'm either going to build the 911 next, or my wide-bodied MR2, and THEN my KS Diablo!

I know why you say that, but I'm afraid I'd lose some detail's if I do. I also dont' want to accidently give it a "flat".
-
Thank you! When I painted the bottom side of the body, the roof got a little mark from where it was resting on the cardboard. So, this morning I touched up the roof and painted the underside of the rear wing. Later today I should be able to do some detailing. The light gun-metal color really suits the 928 very well! It's not exactly like the Strosek picture I posted, but look's just as nice nonetheless! I'm looking forward to this one being finished and sitting pretty with my other two Koenig's!

A few quick teaser-pic's for yea since the body was dry-enough! This should be completed by Monday! You like?
-
Thank's guy's. This project wont' happen anytime soon. Obviously, the first step is to purchase/build the three Mini Cooper S model's, then get reference pictures if I can. Since I have the movie, I can freeze-frame and take pic's of the scene and analyze it carefully for detail's. I think it would make for a killer diorama and I doubt anyone has done it yet!

I'd like to build one some day, maybe convert it into a motorhome and really try out my scratch-building skill's. I dream of putting in a functioning Ipod to simulate a big flat-screen tv in there that would actually be playing a movie. That would be awesome! Would have to see the inside of the bus to actually see if the floor plans would allow a motorhome conversion.

You said EVERYTHING was scratch built except for the rear slicks? What about the front tires, where did those come from? I've yet to scratch-build but would love to learn how some time!

I once built Tamiya's WRC Ford Focus. I did mine in street-tuner style gloss black and used SMS's carbon-fiber decal almost everywhere. It was a very challanging model as I used the CF decal on the mirrors, roof scoop, dashboards, rear wing, front lip, made a window net out of pint-stripping, et'c. It was a nice kit, but no engine detail except for what you saw underneath. However, the chassis was very detailed! I'd build one again but keep the WRC theme! I'd also love to do one with SMS's photo-etched peices they have available for it! I'd like to challange my selfe for an extremely detailed kit. I guess that'll be coming soon with the Enthusiasts Model KS Countach! Basically what I'm saying is, the Tamiya WRC Focus is the nicest Focus kit out there.

When I decide to build my wide-bodied MR2, I'd like to make a fliped-up GPS system. Wonder if there's a way to light it up? I've got no personal experience with electronics and/or soldering. Last few times I've tried to solder it either looked like silver glob's of poo, and/or it didn't work! When I first read the title of this thread, I was thinking somebody actually put an LED light behind their "headunit". It would be very cool to fully light up a model kit with not only the tradtional headlight's/taillights like from the Aoshima kit, but would be cool to have the instrument panel and stereo glow as well.

Interior finished and mounted! Next comes the body!

Interior almost done! Instrument panel done, man were those decal's a pain! Bottom of body painted!

Real or Model #87 FINISHED!
FujimiLover replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
Anything to keep this game going! But he/she who submit's should not be allowed to vote as they already know the answer! -
You already have the kit, or you want to find the kit? Good luck finding one, their rare! I was lucky I had one here who was willing to sell his! Chassis finished! Next step, interior! One interesting thing about this model, is the decal's for the instrument panel. As you can tell from the molded cluster here, you can almost see the individual ring's where individual decal's go. Some reason on this kit, instead of having one nice large instrument cluster decal, they gave you seperate dial's which will be a challange to do just right! Don't remind me about the exaust tips, they go on after the body is mounted!

Thank you very much! For a while I wasn't sure if anybody was watching. This being a very simple kit, it should be a fast build with of coarse waiting for paint to dry! Either later this evening or tomarrow I'll flip the body over and paint the bottom. Still gotta paint the rear wing. I should be done with the chassis later today and interior probably tomarrow. I suspect car will be complete Monday-Tuesday. Then it'll be time for 911!
