  1. Some more work done this morning. Some more chassis detailing. Picture doesn't show it, but the exaust pipes are painted flat aluminum, and the engine is painted silver. You can see the subtle difference between the flat black and the German Gray. dashboard instrument panel. Body painted. The color is darker in person I think. I love Tamiya paints, they are very forgiving!
  2. Yea I bet! But the ones you do pick are very good and some very convincing! Keep at it, this is fun! Maybe some of us should look for questionable pictures!
  3. I think most of us are on a roll! Need to pick a harder picture there buddy!
  4. Last night I did some painting on the chassis. I forgot that this kit has no steering? What? No steering? Wonder why Fujimi didn't make this car steerable? At least it keep's it simple! Painted the interior flat black, it will be two-toned with German Gray which is a nice medium-dark gray. Decided to paint the wheels gold. Probably can't tell, but I primered the body, rear wing, and mirror.
  5. Just keep searching ebay every week, I'm sure it'll pop up there again. I'm looking for a set my selfe, or, try HLJ.
  6. Tip: DON'T WASH SMALL PARTS OVER AN OPEN DRAIN PIPE! I JUST LOST THE KS PASSANGER SIDE MIRROR! Fortunetly, it was only the passanger side mirror and not the driver's side mirror as the car only needs the drivers side mirror. Still, it sucks to loose a part on such a rare kit. And, it's a part specific to this KS model, not just a 928 part! $*(&$&(@! I even took apart the pipes under the sink to look for it and I'm afraid it went way far deep into the pipe system beyond my reach. So, don't wash small parts over an open drain pipe. Use your kitchen sink that has a drain plug instead! I still have both of the stock mirrors, but they wouldn't look right on the KS model. So, it's just going to have one drivers side aerodynamic mirror.
  7. Just primed the chassis and interior. According to the instructions, it seems they want the chassis to be color cordinated with the body.
  8. The rim's on the 928 and 911 are both BBS, but the 928's are much wider. I don't think I'll be able to get another KS 928 kit and I can't think of any mod's I'd want to do it. However, if I get a stock 928, I might like to do the Strosek 928! Actually, the color of this Porsche look's very similar I think to the color I had pictured for the KS 928!
  9. The Countach is rare, but not as rare as the 928. I'm not sure about other scales as I'm only familiar with 1/24. Actually, there are two 1/16 scale Koenig Specials Countach models on ebay right now, so rare, but not 928 rare. Now, let's get back to the regularly schedualed program shall we?
  10. It would be cool to have the headlights motorized and light up as they pop-up. But this model does not allow for that option. It's either up or down. I'm going for the down position. Still, the 928 does have the most interesting of pop-up's.
  11. Should I build this with the headlights up or down? I've always been fascinated with the way the 928's headlights operate. Probably one of the coolest headlights and coolest feature of the car itselfe!
  12. The Countach and the Competition are the two easiest ones to find. I see two of each on ebay almost every week, and both my local hobby stores has the Competition almost all the time. I would say that this would be the following order of rarity. "Word?" 1 being most rare, 6 being easiest to find. 1) KS 928 2) KS 500 SL 3) KS 911 4) KS Countach 5) Competition Spyder 6) Competition Toss up between 5 and 6. Of coarse, right now there are half a dozen 500 SL's on ebay at the moment!
  13. I've also seen toy's of boards. But I think those were skate-boards that you used with your fingers. Perhaps those can be modified to look like surf boards?
  14. I've never made one my selfe, but I'd bet they be easy to make out of sheet's of plastic to any size you want.
  15. Yes I know, this is one of their very rare kit's and I'm very fortunet to land one. That's why I'm going to be VERY carefull building this one as well as going for simplicity. This 928 is the hardest one to find of all of Fujimi's KS model's. The Mercedes 500 Sl I beleive is second hardest, 911 third, and so on. If my first two KS models are anything to go by, this one should certainly be a jem!
  16. Thank's to Mr. Mike I got my hands on one of my favorite kit's, the Koenig Specials Porsche 928S4 from Fujimi! This will be painted Tamiya TS-42 Light Gun Metal ontop of white primer. Simple black interior with silver "aluminum" trim. Box art is very cool! Instructions, simple Begining of body work/prep. Parts Very wide wheel's. Look at the size of these meat's! Rear tire Front tire
  17. I'd thought for sure you would've voted for the 928 your selfe! LOL! Anyway, I decided upon the 928 as it's one of my fav's. Very cool looking wide-body 928, and a very simple kit to do. While ultimately it was my decision, I just thought it would be fun to have a vote! Seems' the Porsche's are more popular than the Lambo! And as you said, they are much easier to do which is why my Countach will be dead last, even after I've finished both Veilside's! So, look for the 928 on the "bench"! Voting ended! Thank's!
  18. It look's like a tie right now! Does that mean I have to build'em both at the same time? I'm actually very tempted by the 928 right now personally.
  19. Well thank you this is fun. At first the 928 was in the lead, and now the 911 is ahead. Not to many people seem to care about the Diablo though! LOL! I've decided that the 928 will be painted Tamiya's TS-42 Light Gun Metal which is what I used to paint my 1/43 Honda Insight. It should be a nice simple color to paint and should suit the 928 very well. I'm also going to use the fancy grey/white/black chequred uphulstry decal set that came with the "spare" 500 SL model. Interior will be pretty much a simple black with silver "aluminum" trim. I'm going to keep this poll open for a few more day's. For the one who didn't know which one was which, it is clearly writtin on the box's in the picture. The red one in the middle clearly reads Koenig Specials Porsche 911 BITurbo All are very cool model's and I can't wait to see'em all completed and ligned up in a row looking hot! But, I gotta be careful! Gotta be very, very patient and take my time with these! So far, my last to KS models have been successful and are sitting pretty together!
  20. Hello there! Well, my KS Mercedes 500 SL is finished, and it came out perfect! It is now underglass for you all to admire. I need help decideing which of the three next KS Model's to build! What would you like to see me build next? The KS Diablo will be just like in the photo, Italian Red with black/red interior. The KS 911 will be Guards red with flat-red interior/gold wheels. and the KS 928 will either be the same metallic gray I used on my Mazda RX7 FC, or gun-metal, or light gun-metal. All three look so good and so tempting. I've once previously built both the 911 and 928 before when I was a teenager. The 928 was black/red, and the 911 was white/blue. I've never done the Diablo before and while it has opening doors, it still look's much simplier than the Enthusiast Model KS Countach which will be done dead last. I know, I know, ultimately it's up to me, but still would be fun to see what you'd like to see me do next!
  21. Just completed my pure white Koenig Specials Mercedes 500 SL model kit from Fujimi. Remember, this was all molded in black! Enjoy!
  22. From the title I thought you meant YOU WERE UPSIDE! LOL! Seriously, great idea as it prevents your fresh paint from being scratched up!
  23. ^Fujimi, awesome! Are you going to do it street style, WRC style, or what?^
  24. Mirror's mounted, clear coated. Lenses painted. Final assembly tomarrow, if I'm allert enough after my Dentist apointment, YUCK! maybe wait till Wenseday morning. Of all the white model's I've built/painted in the past, this one is by far my VERY BEST! I just hope final assembly goes smoothly!
