  1. I was going to get that same Supra too! That's why I love Fujimi's older kit's from the 80's and early 90's. They had alot of sweet wide-bodied style cars. They have a first generation MR2 I'd like to get as well. If you've ever looked at an old Fujimi catalouge, you can see alot of very cool "tuned" cars including the very, very, very rare Mugen CRX Pro.2. I'm still acheing for that one! At least this wide body kit fit's much better than their Veilside "resin" body kit. I'm also very releived I dont' have to cut anything off. I plan on glueing the body together, triming her up, maybe filler if needed then primer this weekend. Question, for my choice of color, the metallic green, should I use a white primer, or gray primer? I'm thinking white as I dont' want the paint to look darker than it should be.
  2. I've never liked yellow, except on Ferrari's and some Lamborghini's. But I've never had luck with yellow coming out smooth. Are there any tricks to getting a smooth silky yellow finish? I'm tempted to paint my KS Competition Spider yellow like this one. What's the best paint to use in order to get a smooth finish for yellow? And do I paint the yellow ontop of a white primer?
  3. LOL! No, not you. I'm talking about my Dad's Irish Setter puppy. He's less than 2 years old and is the biggest pain in the butt I've ever had to watch. My Dad is out of town and I have to look after this silly dog. This morning he decided he wanted his breakfast at 5 in the morning which is 3 hours sooner than I wanted to get up. He then wanted to go outside and before I could put his cable on, he ran out the door and took himselfe out for a nice long run around the neighborhood. 30 minutes later he came back home. Been a frusterating morning. Now I'm awake and working on my MR2. Anyway, this is a fun game and I look forward to it every Romday! The ROM being a fun game, not chaseing the dog around the neighborhood in my underwear.
  4. Holly cow! Home made wheels AND tires? Now I've seen it all! And that suspension not only look's great, it look's functional! Does it actually work? Impressive!
  5. Okay, it's Friday morning, we're up where is the man? I voted model this time, die-cast model! Coarse, I wouldn't be up if it weren't for the darn dog! Arrrrrrg!
  6. I dont' think an MR2 no matter how hopped up and decked out will ever be anywhere near the value of a KS car. I was joking when I suggested KS logo's on it since it has similar wide-bodied style kit on it.
  7. Golf-ball sized hail, hmmmmmmmmm. Are you sure it wasn't Happy Gilmore? Glad to know you don't leave those models out side! Would be interesting to see what that sized hail would do to die-cast models though! Probably would look like a war-zone!
  8. WOW! One of my favorite Porsches, although I prefer the Martini version myselfe. Awesome job on the brakes! Beautiful paint work, decal work, and superb detail work!
  9. Get smaller cases and bubble wrap. Might be pricey getting alot of 1/24 scale display cases, but might be worth while to protect your investment. Bubble wrap delicately your models inside the case's, and then maybe bubble-wrap the case itselfe and put theme all in a large box filled with styrofoam "popcorn". If your shipping it, dont' mark it fragile, seems to me the more fragil it is, the postman seems to throw it farther and harder! LOL! Kidding aside, smaller 1/24 display cases with bubble wrap should do the job.
  10. For those of us who are fan's of Koenig Specials, the great German-based exotic car tuner, they have a nice web site which shows you their history, some of their cars including their incredable near 1000 horsepower Testarossa, and a street-legal Porsche 962 which I plan on replicating some day in 1/24 scale. So for you fan's, please click here! Enjoy! http://www.koenig-specials.com/homepage%20...%20englisch.htm Hmmmmm, just looked at their site myselfe and noticed an update. They have under their list of cars, "others". Click on others and they offer exaust systems for sounds like anything! They need to know model, make, and year. So maybe my wide-bodied Toyota MR2 ain't far off from a Koenig after all? :D
  11. Hmmmmmmm, maybe I need to build a 1/24 scale chunk of the German Autobaun? "spelling?"
  12. I think I know what is wrong with the Diablo's fitment. Unfortunetly, it is too late to fix it and I dont' want to mess with it any more. That is when I start screwing thing's up worse! Since the interior and engine compartment are bolted to the body, I dont' think it has anything to do with that. I have noticed that my front bumper isn't lined up and mounted flush like it should be. I think since the front of the chassis slides into a slot on the front bumper, I think that is what is "warping" the chassis and causing the mis-alignment. While it maybe too late to fix this one, at least I'll know what to look for whenever I get around to do the convertible version!
  13. Do I dare put KS logo's on the car? Koenig never did any Japanese cars as far as I know, but if they did, it would probably look like this MR2. The only cars that I know of that KS touched, are Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, and Jaguar. Only problem with the Jaguar is they made an ugly car even uglier. I've never liked Jaguars and KS made it worse I think. In my opinion, the Jaguar is the only car Koenig shouldn't have messed with. But I guess in the 80's and early 90's it was popular enough that they went with it. This MR2 will go with the other Japanese cars, and NOT with the Koenig klan.
  14. Good thing that beautiful model wasn't outside! Look's like one hit with those hail-balls would've obliterated it! Does Geico have a small scale car insurance?
  15. Good idea, I can use the gap-filling CA glue and fill it in. I can "pretend" that the gas doore is hidden behind something. All though, I do like the thought of making a round "motorcycle" style gas-cap which is very popular to do on real cars.
  16. Test-fitting the side's. Maybe some filler and sanding are required to perfect it, but still a very nice fit. One question I'd like to know is why didn't Fujimi finish the gas-door on the new fender? It look's like you've got no access to fill'er up with! How can I finish the gas-door on the fender? Any suggestions?
  17. Time to take a brake from KS models. I'm ready to build my green wide-bodied Toyota MR2! This baby is going to be painted Boyd's Chezoome Teal Pearl, with a two-tone interior. Either black/green, or two tone green with some black. The interior greens will be Tamiya XZ-11 JN Green, and Tamiya FX-71 Cockpit green. Check out these wide wheels! Wide body kit. Fortunetly, this kit does NOT require any body cutting, and no resin added-on later kit's that dont' fit. This should be a pretty simple straight forward build with time taking to ensure perfection on the body kit and paint work.
  18. I know one place I can try first. A local store called Hightower Collectibles that has a very nice collection of some sweet die-cast models and airplanes. They have a huge scale model of a Cobra worth over $1,000 dollars! I think it's skin is real metal too! I'd like to get a big-azz KS logo made for the display as well, maybe a chequred-board style floor?
  19. Picture's aren't the best as I didn't have an appropiate background to contain all four cars. But here they are all together. KS Ferrari Testarossa Competition KS Mercedes 500 SL KS Porsche 928, thank's Mr. Mike! KS Lamborghini Diablo! Except for the Diablo, I have had all of these models once long ago, but I've never had'em all together in a perfect groupe! I'm very satisfied with all four builds dispite minor impeffections each one has. But as a group, they sure look great together and I'm proud to display theme. I need to find a large enough display case to protect all of theme together as one big happy family! Will need to find a case that will house these four, plus three more KS models as I've still got the 911, Competition Spider, and Countach to build. Does such a display case exist and how much do they cost? How big are they and where can I get one?
  20. You've got me. I messed with it as much as I could and I found no physical evidence as to why it's like that. So it is the way it is and I'm overall very happy with the build. Perhaps when I do another one it'll be better. I plan on someday doing the convertible version in yellow.
  21. Gotcha! Had to keep you in suspence for a while! Enjoy!
  22. "Ferris Bueller your my hereo!" Nice job, love that car!
  23. Look's nice clean and simple. Reminds me of my sister-in-law's car.
