More Tri Five Chopping
dwc43 replied to Rick Schmidt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I had an idea. Put some led's behind the brake light lens when you install them. Cool mood lighting ... lol -
I use a Visa All Access Debit card from www.netspend.com When I get gas, I put some money on it for online purchases. That way if I get hacked, they wont get anything from my bank accounts. Much safer and it only cost $2.00 ea time you add money to it. Bought several recently off of emodlers and e bay and such.

Thanks. I needed those pics. I'm usually pretty good with google, but missed that page. And I thought that wheel was black, but I knew they had some wood grains on some models and just could not remember. I also drilled all the holes out in my wheel to make it look a little more realistic. Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply. I think it's black too. I'm not using you tube anymore. I don't know why but every time I go on there by clock looses two hours. Then when I log on the net the clocks don't match so it locks up. I run a spy bot search and destroy scan and I find the Microsoft security has been turned off. So I fix it and then the pc runs fine. Next time on you tube, it does it again. Does not matter what clip I watch either and I can repeat the problem at will. If I stay off of you tube it never locks up and the clock settings never change. I even thought the problem was the clock battery on the pc at first, but I changed it before I found out it was you tube malware of some kind that I was picking up.

Thanks. That's exactly what I figured form the box photos and such. Just did not know of anyone that had bought one yet.
-
Does it have the stock car wheels and cage in that Monte kit? That's one reason I have not picked it up yet. The pics on the box make it out to be a primed and half painted street car instead of the car used on F and F. The F and F car had no front fender wells and it had a cage and sheet metal interior with racing buckets. I figured if it wad not in the lit I'd have to hunt up those parts.

I have an idea that I have been playing with the last couple of days. I live in Tn. and have allergy and sinus problems so this aint the best place to live for that, but it's where I was born. I use an filter system in my bedroom. I am thinking about buying a newer and larger unit. I'm thinking of taking the old one and placing it on top of a paint booth with a duct to draw the fumes from the booth into the filter unit. The unit holds a square paper box. Looking into the incoming side of the box it's triangle shaped and pretty much a metal screen in front of a paper filter to catch dirt and such. And boy does it work great for that. You would be surprised how much dirt is in the air you breath. Looking on the back side or outgoing side of the box is the part that will do the work. It's a Charcoal filter. Looks like porous solid black material. That should help to clean the fumes from the air and make it safe to breath. So,fellows, what do you think of my idea??

Two Lane Blacktop on Turner Clasic

If someone wants to buy a copy for themselves here's a link to it and some other good movies popped up on that search too. This is where I got my copy from and it even had a screen play that came with it. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_?url=sea...amp;x=0&y=0 -
Anyone have a source for 4x4 off road lights? Like K.C. Daylighters?

In the '68 Mustang GT from the movie Bullitt, does it have a wood grain or black grip on the steering wheel. I've almost got the interior tub ready to assemble, but I need to get the wheel color correct and I don't have a copy of that movie handy.

Yeah, it broke my heart to watch them roll that '65 Plymouth like that. I'm a Mopar guy so it hurts more for us ... lol. -

I watched it all the way through, but it was not what I expected at all. I think it's because it was too hyped up over the years and I expected wayyyy too much when I finally got a copy of it. -
Nice truck. Believe it or not, we have a Mack similar to that one on display at our main fire station. It was one of our fire trucks for many years. They restored it and built it's on little room on the side of the main fire house.

I was looking at the other site too. And you may be right. They both have Carson City NV. addresses too.

I just bought a copy of that off of Amazon.com last week and watched it last Saturday when it arrived. I've already got a '55 started. I wanted the movie so I could get details for the car. I took Revell's '55 Street Machine and cut the front clip off to make the flip front end. Needs some work though. Did not come out as clean as I hoped for. Wonder how most you cut out doors and clips and stuff. -
Nice build. Check these guys out too. I just bought some parts from them and they are good to deal with. I mostly god interior stuff like radios, sirens and some lights, but they all look and work great. http://www.chimneyvilledecals.com/index.html

Yeah we are. you should see the unmarked cars and the pick up trucks and suv's we have. Sounds like you might have some experience with Tn. cops, am I right ??? lol
-
Not in Tn. Maybe a vette or Viper, but no Lambo's in sight I am afraid .... lol.

I don't think we have run front plates since the '50's here. Not my idea on the spots though. Someone else came up with that. It's just the way we run the real ones here. As long as you don't park one our cars with the doors facing the oncoming traffic you'll never see one of these things in a dark spot right out in the open till it's too late. Here's a pic of the older cars with the older take downs like you have on your kit and a newer car with the LED strobes. You can really see those things in the dark from a long ways off compared to the old lights. Glad to see one of our model cars made it over there. you don't expect that too often. Here's a link to decals and police car parts if you like to build them. I just bought some stuff from them and they are good to deal with. http://www.chimneyvilledecals.com/index.html

Looks pretty good. We don't use that kind of light bar anymore though and we don't run front lic. plates either. Paint the spots lights black too so they blend in woth the roof pillar. Makes them harder to spot at night.
-
Looks good. Just needs the right carb put on it. NASCAR runs an 830 cfm Holley, not a Dominator.
-
If run across any more of those things from the AMT Duster kits, I sure would like to have a handful of them. The ones from the '71 Road Runner/Satellite kits are not very good. I'd like to replace them and use some on some other kits too.
-
It is correct for your car. They came out in 70 and were fuel metered at first and then changed over to an air metered carb. The first carbs were not very good at all till the change over in metering systems. The small blocks are 800 cfm and big blocks ate 850 cfm and there was two competition versions listed at 850 and 1000 cfm. I'm lucky to own one of those. Only thing about the Tq in your kit is that it is squashed down too small to fit under the hood. It would have been better if it was like the one on the Duster. Much more accurate and detailed looking. I'll throw in some pics for reference. Someone might need them.
