  1. Just for giggles, my car can lift the front tire too. lol
  2. Competition Resin has a cross ram that could be easily modified to look like the Edelbrock intake they used. Cheaper than a kit.
  3. Great pics you have there. That dash shot shows the oil tank at the rear. And yes, those old fire extinguishers where pretty big back in the day when they started using them. I was surprised not to see a blower motor on the rear end cooler though, just that duct hose.
  4. LOL, they got the valve covers on the wrong side. vents go to the front and oil cap on wrong side. Wrong carb too. But a nice-looking engine.
  5. Check Ice Man Collectibles. He has some 3d printed people and characters.
  6. Paint won't stick to chrome. It should polish right off the chrome.
  7. Thanks. I think that's the one I looked at. That's a two blade prop and wrong model. Need a G-21. Not sure if I can make that one work or not. But, I'll keep that one in mind.
  8. Nice looking plane.
  9. Thanks for that info. Will do.
  10. Looking for a 1/48 scale Grumman G-21A Goose. Probably a long shot, but I thought I'd ask. The G-21 Goose has a 3 blade prop and ones that I have found are mostly two blade props and they are the wrong model.
  11. More than welcome. Drill bit was a good suggestion too,OB. Now why didn't I think of that. lol
  12. Do you have a local Hobby Lobby or Hardware Store? You can take the wheel backs in with you and measure them against the rods that they have in stock if you don't have a caliper to measure them with. Those are cheap to at Walmart. They only go down to the 100's though, not the 1000's. I think less than ten bucks. Harbor Freight has them too. They get more pricey as you get into the ones that measure to the 1000'sth.
  13. Thanks, I thought so. Sorry if I hijacked the thread there.
  14. Wasn't she Robert Mitchums girlfriend in "Thunder Road"?

    CHEVY VAN GLASS

Sorry about that. I was just looking at the one in your pic and was thinking out loud.

    CHEVY VAN GLASS

Hey, if you're trying to replace the one in the pic, it might be fixable. I have seen others on this site sand those down and use a polish on them and bring them back to life again. Might do a search or ask about it in the tips section. Worth a shot. Sorry, I can't help you with the glass other than that idea.
  17. Yeah, that Alt. looks great.
  18. Hey, I can't say I have not messed up before. lol That's how we learn sometimes.
  19. I think I just flipped the spindle on my black car to lower the front end. Can't get away with that on every model though. Thought it might help on the next one you build.
  20. Try this place if you want to get dvds. Tey have it all NASCAR drag racing and a little bit of everything. http://MuscleCarFilms.com/
  21. Thanks. Just need to get it finished up. Looking forward to your build.
  22. Great kit there. I'm using one to create the car from the movie Hot Rod. Not a good pic, but here's some inspiration.
  23. Great job so far. Yeah, that kit has the old MPC universal chassis. They stuck it under every NASCAR car they made back in the day. Only difference is the engine and the body. Salvino's seems to have better NASCAR replicas.
  24. Yes. The moved the front wheels forward as far as they could and used a lightweight K frame. Moved the rears forward as well. It had 56% weight on the rear wheels sitting on the scales. Tires were retreaded truck tires for a long time. That's why you see the scallops on the top of the sidewalls. And they were better than a street tire back then, but still junk compared to a modern slick of the same width. Really needed the weight transfer to get them to stick back then.
  25. That makes sense. Short tubes are for top end, so that would go good with the 4 spd. Whereas long tubes add more torque or bottom end to the car which would work better with the auto transmission.
