  1. Looks good to me.
  2. I'm sorry they did not have what you needed but it was worth a shot. My other supply for truck parts is no longer around due to a death. I'll have to find that ST Supply. Sounds like it might come in handy at some point. I hope they have what you need.
  3. Welcome, anytime.
  4. Very Detailed. You can watch a video for all of their kits at this link. They open the box and show you what is in it. What's In The Box Videos – Salvinos JR Models Glad you liked the cut a way ideas.
  5. I got an idea or two. You could build a crashed version to show off some inside detail for one. Every seen one of those display engines where it's cut in half so you can see the 4 pistons and rods and crank on one side, but the other side looks stock? You could cut one in half and show off the insides like that. Somewhere in my stash is a ship that has all of the side panels that can be removed to show the inner decks and how it works, same as cutting the body in half to make a two sided show car. Just and Idea I had that I thought I'd throw out there.
  6. Looks good.
  7. You would be better off buying these cars off of Ebay for 12 to 20 bucks. These are the General Lee kits. I don't recall if they had the General decals in them or not, but you can buy them as well. And you can still find the police cars on Ebay too. You can also use the T.J. Hooker or Batman Goon cars and just get the Hazard Police car decals to put on them. A Team military police car too, but that's probably going to be pricy if you find it.
  8. You might try sourkrautsmodeltrucks.net They stock a lot of wheel and tire combos.
  9. More than welcome. Can't wait to see the finished model.
  10. Welcome, anytime. I got some to use on a Jeep I built one time.
  11. Should be a factory 4 link under there.
  12. You are more than welcome. If you need anything Petty, I have a lot of pics of that stuff. Not many have dirt track pics of his cars. And I had to throw mine in there just for the heck of it. lol
  13. Do you mean the ones like the Jeeps and semi-trucks use? If so, I know where you can buy those. www.sourkrautsmodeltrucks.net
  14. Not bad. Couple little things, you have the dist. in the radiator hose and vise versa. On the Hemi and big blocks, it sits at an angle. And Petty does osha blue for suspension and engine pieces for some reason.
  15. By 75 those NASCAR type cars were running 358 small blocks. Really the big block was pretty much gone by 72. And most were running slotted wheels by 75 too. And that rear is supposed to sit high until you get the car up to speed and the aero would make it squat back down to normal. Can't believe they left the kicker bars out of the kit. That front cage around the engine is not correct either, but they put that in all the kits.
  16. I'm with you on the paint and body work. Not my favorite part of any build. And there's nothing wrong with primer.
  17. Looking good. I see it has the Daytona window in it too. Don't see that too often. As for mine, I hope to do some work on it late summer. I have 6 acres, and the shop building is close to completion, and I want to start working on a home there as well. I've been collecting parts for the car and hope I can work on it this summer after some other things fall into place. I can't wait to try it out.
  18. Don't get me wrong, it looks good. Can't wait to see the body painted with decals. Paint is always the hardest part for me, but so are big decal sheets that come on some of these race cars. It's easier but time consuming to do a bunch of small decals, but less risk of damaging them that way.
  19. IT looks good so far. I probably would not change it, but for your next build, NASCAR does not allow the use of those twist type release belts. They use a latch link belt.
  20. She's got a long way to go, but it should be more than worth the wait. That roofline is about waist high on me. I'm 5'10". It's not a very tall car at all.
  21. The 1926 Ford Model T that Clarence Lamb owned and that I worked on had the fuel tank in the turtle deck from the factory. It was the first year for electric start and head lights. 6V battery too. I could hand crank it faster than that battery could turn it over.
  22. Too bad about the non engine. Someone makes a resin engine kit online that is really detailed. I'm sorry, I do not recall who made it. I have one somewhere, but it's buried in the stash. Look at what is sitting inside of my 24ft Lark trailer.
  23. I can't help you with the truck, but 3 inches under has a web site and he has a Ebay page too. He would have the sirens, lights, hose reels, nozzles, shovels, axes, rakes, pike poles, ladders, turnout gear, SCBA's, pumps and motors, medical equipment and just about anything fire, medic, or police stuff that you might want. 24. No water pump. The camshaft runs the fuel pump mounted on the front cover, so there is no place to put a water pump. When hp gets high enough or you get into supercharged engines on nitromethane they run a solid or filled block to make it stiffer, so it won't deflect under power. Only water is in the heads. Also take into account that the amount of alcohol or nitromethane that flows through the intake and heads also helps to reduce the heat in the engine. This car only has 8 injectors, but look at supercharged engines on nitro, they have at least 16 injectors if not more.
  25. Just FYI a lot of chevy and other engines too will bring water lines from the rear of the intake as well. Let's it balance out the temp. of the engine so it does not have hot spots or get air locked at the rear of the heads. Not sure if this would apply for your drag car that only run for a few minutes at a time. Something to think about I guess. It looks great by the way.
