  1. Yeah, they used just about any engine that came in the car they bought at the time. I was just merely going for the story line used in the show. In all the tv shows you can't see enough of the engine to tell what it is. Most of the time it's just an air cleaner shot or it's too dark to see detail. Think they did htat on purpose too. There's one shot in one of the reunion shows where you can clearly tell it's a small block though.
  2. Colors off, but the wheels look great. And they never came with a silver sway bar. That question has been asked so many times in Mopar mags over the years. All Mopar sway bars are black. Should put the 440 in it if you are going for realism. Never says what engine is in it in the TV series, but there's one shot of the engine in the barn on a hoist before they went looking for a body in one episode. You can clearly see it's a big block, but not a Hemi.
  3. Just need to find an old 'convoy' Mack truck model. They show up on e bay from time to time. Then you'll have the duck. Just paint it silver for the death proof car instead of gold for the convoy truck. Wonder why they stole that duck from that movie anyways.
  4. You know what else it needs? A set of traction bars. Nothing says street car like a $20 dollar set of Lakewood traction bars that never seemed to provide any extra traction on the real cars.
  5. Where do you see a Ford ?? That's a '41 Willy's coupe gasser with a 426 Hemi. The rest are all Chevies.
  6. I'll run for a c note. lol!!
  7. Bag of concrete for his new shoes.
  8. Hanky would work good too. I just took one and painted it green to make some canvas and some stretchers for a military project I am working on. They come on white, so they already look like bed sheets and have design lines in them. They stiffen up when spray painted too.
  9. On many a car in the past, just not that Mustang. I think it will look good though.
  10. Here's some up date pics. Still not finished yet, but there was progress made. [/url http://
  11. It might look a little dragster looking, but if you keep the paint scheme a single color I think it'll look good. As well a stock interior without the racing stuff in it. Make the engine look like a street engine too. Put carbs on the blower instead of an injection hat. Put the 3 hole scoop on it and run a linkage wire from the scoop to the carb. It'll look more street that way.
  12. I like the way it looks in the pics you already posted. Looks realistic. Any bigger on the tires or angles just wont pull off that realistic muscle car look in my opinion.
  13. Because my garages are filled with my race cars and show cars and even though I am building another garage, on 6 acres I bought, I can't afford to buy the mall and keep them up. Would be nice to own a museum of my favs one day though. So modeling works for me. Contests are fun since I am competitive by nature. I try to make them as accurate as I can, so I don't cut corners like building them with no engine or cutting up the bell housing and forcing it to fit. It's somewhat relaxing and therapeutic too, I guess. Cheaper than the real thing too. I'm sure I could come up with some more excuses if I tried.
  14. Nice Porsche.
  15. I would not mind having one as long as it was a V8 with a grabber hood option. The two door with the grabber hood looks sharp and racey. Guy used to have one here in town that was solid blue with black striping. I would not mind duplicating that old car.
  16. Here's a small update on this one. I'm getting close to finishing it up. I have the engines dist and wires installed and it's mounted in the frame rails now. Has it's headers and tail pipes installed too. Got the roll bar and harness installed. Need to add a tach and gauges and a screen for the window and that should do that. I have some screen, but it's too fine. Need some with larger holes in it. Also made the front and rear bumpers from steel tubing. Front one is full of holes to lighten it a bit. Back one is solid. Using white roll bars, bumpers and numbers to contrast the blue. Should turn out nice. Got a question and looking for a couple suggestions. First off, how does the brake lines run on the front and rear straight axles with transverse leaf springs? Battery, in the back seat area, or in the trunk where you can see it past the tires? Fill in the stock fuel tank and add a filler hose with a cap on top of the deck lid,no deck lid cap, or a moon tank in the trunk area instead?
  17. That's interesting. Never thought about doing something like that.
  18. I've bought online from these guys and they ship quick and have a little bit of everything you could ever want. http://www.hobbylinc.com/index.htm
  19. Nice.
  20. LOL!! Best one yet.
  21. I think I'll get some matching low gloss white to match the low glos black I already have and test it with some chalk and see how it works out. I'll have to try and find some dull coat for my air brush though. I tried the Testors stuff in the rattle can. It sprays too heavy if you are not careful and it looks like it has bubbles in it.
  22. What kind of chalk and where can I find it? Is it something I can find in the art section of a hobby lobby? And if I fade the black with the chalk, how can I get the same effect with the white sections on a semi gloss white if I use that instead of the primer? Trying something new here, so I have some dumb questions to ask. lol.
  23. This is about the best pic of the truck that I can get so far. Having use my digital camera to take pics off the tv screen.
