  1. I think the scene in Woody Allen's "Sleeper" where the Beetle starts right up after 200 years is more believable.
  2. If you have a question, you're in the right place. If you want to post suggestions on how to do something, Tips & Tricks is located just above this one on the forum menu.
  3. Beautiful work. What brand of paint did you use? The photos make the paint look more like two shades of gunmetal rather than copper.
  4. Don't quote pictures, just do "Add Reply" or you'll get yelled at. And I agree with that. I don't need to take the time to scroll down through pictures I've already seen. Just a word to the wise.
  5. Hard to get better than that. Beautiful paint, and those are great metal transfers. I wish I could find wire wheels as nice as that in 1/25 for my Maserati 3500 GTi, but the photoetched versions are too large. The differences between 1/24 and 1/25 aftermarket parts are much greater than I expected.
  6. Not to worry, John, at least for my part. Your participation here is one of the highlights of the forum.
  7. I haven't, either, but I checked and it's on SPEED at 9 pm Eastern, Monday and Saturday.

  9. This may be the coolest thing I've ever seen on this forum, which is saying a lot when you consider John's other builds. For artistry and detail, this is almost unbeatable. What an achievement!
  10. When did you have Bullring do your decals? I thought they shut down a few years ago and their website says pretty much the same.
  11. I mentioned that the poster may catch up. But catching on is another matter.
  12. I don't plan on bashing, I discover it. For example, I found that the chrome pieces for my Mercedes SS that weren't included in the kit are beautifully replicated in my Rolls Phantom II Continental kits. Likewise, there is excellent crossover between my Italeri and Minicraft Mercedes 300 SL Gulwing kits for more accurate chrome, interior, wheels, frame, etc.
  13. The seat color may be uneven for an SLS AMG, but it's perfect for my vintage cars. What color, and how did you achieve it?
  14. Well, at least his reply here to a Jeep thread is a year newer. He may catch up in a little bit.
  15. Hey ratrod - whatchoo doin', Willys? This one's from 2009. Or did I accidentally dial into the Oldies but Goodies station?
  16. Helloooo...this thread was posted and the answer given 2 1/2 years ago....
  17. Same here. Can't see any images.
  18. Not my kind of car, but definitely my kind of interest in model building excellence. Another masterpiece, Marcos!
  19. Yup. In my Corvette with the targa roof off, I seldom had a problem with a sudden shower. Except at stoplights.
  20. Not entirely sure if you're talking about rubber seals or the wider black border surrounding the glass, but here are two approaches from Alex Kustov. http://www.italianhorses.net/Tutorials/Window%20Masks/masks.htm http://www.italianhorses.net/Gallery/Tamiya/Tam360/360.htm
  21. Until you start researching the 1:1, when you realize what you're in for.
  22. Dave, I will pay great attention to what you do with this build after you open the shrinkwrap and start working, because I've seen what you can do and I will respect your opinion. When I say "builders like you," that's a compliment, because I'm talking about high-end builders, not pros with prototypes.
  23. You talkin' to me? You talkin' to ME? If so, I don't get your point. Both builds mentioned are of prototypes before they went into production, regardless of who built them, and therefore can't be depended upon to be the same as the production version. I'm just saying that the jury is out until the kits hit the shelves and go home with builders like you.
  24. That's a professional builder working with a prototype, not a normal modeler's build of a kit off the shelf.
