"Are we done yet?" I keep getting confused about what these blind titles on posts mean. Can we at least clarify the point in the the subtitle? No offense intended, but it gets irritating.

After you've uploaded your shot to Photobucket, just go to the thumbnail image in your Photobucket library, move your cursor down from that shot and click on the IMG bottom field on the picture and it becomes an automatically copied link; then simply do an insert command in the part of your forum post where you want to insert the image. On Mac, that's [apple command] v.

In spite of the wheels and tires, the detail says Real to me.

I think you brought this thread back around to what seems to be closer to Terry's original observations, though I certainly will not try to speak for him. But it seems to me his thought is that there are other publications and resources out there that specialize in diecast cars, fine modeling of a wide variety of subjects, etc., and it would be better for Model Cars Magazine to devote its pages to the more specific subject of building model automobiles, mostly in kit form, which is how most of us participate in the hobby. I think that's very worthy of consideration, but since MCM is the only model magazine I read, I prefer a somewhat broader scope.

Just to confuse the issue: Here's a Bburago pre-built diecast (most of which is plastic, except for the body/frame part): The same model is available as an assembly kit version: I robbed the fenders from the pre-built version to add to the kit version. Where do we draw the distinction, really, about what's a model car and what isn't? Should the magazine cover the kit and not the pre-built?

I'm getting very confused here. All of the shots below are of a '62, all with B pillars. Could it be that the B pillar on the kit was molded on the kit glass, which was cut out? John Wayne got too close in White Sands. They filmed his movie "The Conqueror" there about Ghengis Khan. It was the site of much nuclear testing. To maintain continuity with the location exteriors, they hauled tons of sand back from there back to the Warner Bros. sound stages in Burbank to duplicate location exteriors. Wayne, co-star Susan Hayward and many of the crew on that movie eventually died of cancer due to the radiation in the sand, and not only from their smoking habits.

Doesn't look very precise to me, and all the results shown look a bit spotty and wavy. The video wasn't very convincing, but it would be good to hear results from this forum on their use of the product, and if there are tips about how it can be used to its best advantage..

It has been so secret for so long that there must be a grain of some sort of truth in there somewhere. I haven't read the book, but the Russian theory sounds somewhat plausible. That was a crazy time during the Cold War.

By the way, the bit about the Russians sending a phony UFO to Roswell is based on a new book by an author who got that information from five scientists working at Area 51 at the time, as seen on the Jon Stewart show (and he didn't challenge her). I made up the chimpanzees. But my being probed by UFOs is true.

Okay it's 6:00 and no rapture. What a bummer. WAIT A MINUTE! I'M LEVITATING! Did I remember to cut my ex-wife out of my will? I...I... EDIT: False alarm. Not the Rapture. I was merely beamed into a UFO where they stuck probes into my navel and my brain, then returned me to Earth without ever seeing 72 virgins. I'm okay now. But, man, they did tell me about the phony flying saucer the Russians sent to Roswell to scare and confuse us, encouraged by the "War of the Worlds" radio show panic of 1937. Apparently, the Russian saucer was manned by shaved chimpanzees who had undergone plastic surgery. And they showed me Obama's REAL birth certificate (you would be VERY surprised. Ever hear of a former planet called Pluto?). The snacks weren't very good, though.

It's getting close to 6:00. Has anyone been raptured yet, depending on your time zone? (But I guess if you had been, you wouldn't answer this question.) The closest thing to rapture I'm experiencing right now is my prime rib hamburger.

I haven't seen this subject raised here that I can remember, but one of the most useful of my tools in finding build reference is to search out cutaway drawings of the car in question. The one below, for example was found in my search in Google Images for Jaguar SS 100 cutaway. It's amazing how many there are out there, with a lot of stuff on race cars. I have a few books containing many of these cutaways as well, such as Inside 100 Great Cars edited by David Hodges. Sounds like adhesive sign and sticker equipment that prints color and is cut out with a laser.

As the ALPs printers have been discontinued and ink stock for them is vanishing quickly, there is a way to print white on an irregular, very expensive Durst inkjet printer for large printing jobs, which is about the length of a 1-story house.

I'm still waiting to hear how white can be printed on clear decal paper by an Epson printer. Or did I miss something, and this was printed on white decal paper with the blue background added? I can see that Andy's logo is ghosted across the middle of the sheet.
